Wow - I didn't realise that...bummer I guess that means I can't drive an auto now, becuase some dude on a forum might call me a pussy....cut me deep.

Guess I better call you a shirt lifter so this cool exchange of insults can continue...

Don’t worry about the shirt lifter as he is a married man and you know what they are like?

His Jelly bean Jar is still overflowing and don’t look like diminishing so his testosterone is high and he gets a bit fired up and cheeky..He needs to get a good grip of himself and let that relief valve off :stupid:

:banghead:

Knife n fork is superior...just like an auto.

Driving a manual is easy, anyone can do it, but it dont make ye a man.  If it floats your boat go for it, Im an old bugger at 32 so the leisure of the auto is the go for me...

Go tell the Chinese that??

But what would the Chinese know, what have they ever done??

I think you will find that the F1 gearbox is more Auto than manual. Ferrari is also moving to a semi Auto flappy paddle shifter. Now the purists will say they are using a clutch, but my F6 ZF also has a clutch on the torque converter. Auto's are taking over the world as they are a better all round box.

Be it F1, Rally or road cars, Auto's are more dominant and FASTER than their manual brothers.

Now for the learned forum members that "think" an auto driver cannot drive, what about people who can drive manuals, but have chosen an auto ?

They must be super drivers, because they have the skill to drive a manual, but the intelligence to buy an auto

Actually no one on this forum meets this criteria.

Only Ben (F6 Ute) & Simon (Nizpro) have run 11s with manual, and both of whom still drive manuals.

And we all know you would, given your car is ever out of the workshop long enough to see daylight

It's going to take me quite a while to be able to handle an aggressive triple plate bitch of a clutch.

You'll be launching at revs, so that's the hard part done :stirthepot:

I agree, if you just want to go drag racing, get an auto.

I don't care how good an auto box might be, it's never going to be as good around a track ( yes I do track work aswell ) and as a daily driver,

I see where you a coming from, and my circuit car also has a manual box (only a 5 spd) but that's the car I drive for fun.

For the daily driver the auto works out better, but only because it's the ZF auto - I never previously owned and auto car as until now the gap between auto and manual has been huge!

Man you've got guts using an FPV as a circuit car....well money I guess not guts....still I could never quite do it.

My circuit car cost around $3000, it's as fast as a Ford around the track, and cheaper to fix when/if I crash it....got a roll cage too so I don't die when it rolls over....YAY!
