Speaking of Phoons Sixer , have you ordered one yet ?

not yet...

I don't want to do it through frost cause they're squeezers.

Been thinking about one of those mostrous ford F350's that I can claim as a company car though.... :busted1:

Can't claim the Phoon  it's not much chop in the bush. (though neither is the 350, I suspect.)

It also happens just touching the throttle at 80, 90, 100 + kph

Hey Doc,

Can I ask if this only happens in 6th? - Do you get the same noise in 4th/5th??

I have a BA F6 and its always had this really deep drone while travelling at any speed in 6th - although it gets worse at higher speeds.

No noise in any other gear - not even the dreaded diff whine.

Yep, had a similar problem. All fixed now

Jason

Please may I ask what you did as I have just given up.

Regards

Adrian

Sure, I'd bet it's a CV on it's way out. I replaced my LH driveshaft after it busted and the vibration the car had went away. I had this problem with my VT GENIII as well. I went through 3 sets of CV's (left and right) during the time I had it. CV's won't last forever, especially when putting power through them.

It's not a common problem on a stock car, but rears it's head on modified ones. Most tuners/performance shops should be able to tell you this, but a Ford service centre probably wont.

Thanks Jas

How can I tell which side it is coming from.

I remember having a vibration only in 6th between around 100-120kph.

CV went not long after.

If this is the problem, just be careful, as you don't know when it will go.

With great difficulty. You might have to take it to Barry's new workshop and have them put it on a hoist and run the car.

Won't be to hard finding which one is gone (perhaps both are stuffed).

Both of the CVs were checked when they replaced the bush's and again when they balanced the driveshaft. Strange thing is I've got another shockwave one as a loan car while they sort mine, and it does exactly the same thing with only 2500 klms on it, so I'm gonna put it down to the colour :msm:

And you don't need a hoist to make a car go well, you need a tuner with runs on the board. Hoists are everywhere :msm: After all Titans have about 20 of them :fool:

CV's Checked or replaced?

With all these professionals you deal with one would expect this problem to be resolved, right? :spit:

Either way, it's your problem, not mine :nono:
