Anyways im the now proud owner of a XR6T 03' 65,000km STOCK

I'm gonna purchase a bigger xr6t intercooler that is said to give 20kw@wheels and has dyno sheets to prove. im then also gonna get a better cai than the stock one. now my question which cai set up should I go for ie- typhoon,xr8 snorkel,ss-induction, or a k&N pod filter with flexie duck tape pipe from the front connected to the pod filter. im not getting a tune or chip just these 2 mods on there own. I just wanna make the car flow better and cooler and easyer and with less restriction and some power gains that's it!. for nows anyways  So guys can u please help me out with this as I really wanna know so I dont buy the wrong cai and loose power or not gain as much as I could with these this combo. So opions answer and help will be much appreicated :spoton:

Thanx ppls

dont get the intercooler, if your not going to get a tune its a waste of money and your car will probably run like a pig after you do it if you dont get the tune.

I have the phoon style cai with a K&N filter and am pretty happy with that combination

I agree with iTec.

Don't waste you money on either unless your going to tune it. Even then it depends on how much power you want.

I don't have either mod and still make 275RWKW

Yeah dont bother with Intercooler just yet, they are good up untill 300rwkw's

But if you want power, the best bang for buck will have to be the Edit + Injectors + springs = 290rwkw's (there abouts)

Here is the best CAI you can get. It's been custom made by HPF but other workshops should be able to do similar.

This is the filter inside the front guard

This is the pipe leading from the turbo to the filter.

The battery has been relocated in the boot. You can also do very similar with the battery in it's normal spot.

As has been mentioned before this is probably unnessecary for the other mods you have planned. The intercooler won't give any extra power without a retune and could cause the car to overboost and go into limp mode.

A couple of simple mods would be to get a good quality air-filter and remove the centre muffler and replace with flanged straight through pipes or hot dogs.

Geea.

Contrary to some peoples beliefs I did notice an improvement after installing the F6 style CAI (tube under headlight leading into airbox) and BMC air filter with both throttle response and sound.

  • Still have a turbo, it's just on a diesel.

Go the F6 CAI, Its relatively cheap and it looks like its supposed to be there.

The 'absolute best' CAI solution would be Macka's XR6T shaker that he designed... practically stuffs the turbo with cool air. :spit:

Not sure if he does it still / anymore though. The F6 mod is practical and GEEA has certainly proven his CAI from HPF to be worthy of admiration. :)
