They've proven this before with a 911 Turbo.
ZAP No boost, no bottle, just my foot on the throttle! Legacy Donating Member 7,935 Member For: 22y 7m 5d Gender: Male Location: Sydney Posted 07/03/06 09:32 AM Posted 07/03/06 09:32 AM I bet they do not stall the auto's up as it would create a unfair comparison for the turbo's over the V8's and also the manual v AutoWith the VBox being so accurate, I am sure that a stalled F6 with normal 1/4 timing would get into the low 13's as has been proven by other here.Well done Ford/FPV

See here...Motor Magazine has explained why they record slower times than what can be achieved at the drag strip in the August '05 issue.VBOX vs Drag Strip Times - Ever Beaten MOTOR's Performance Times? This Is Why.For six months, our new VBox has been pumping out performance numbers, but this was the first time we'd tested it against the beams of a measured track. So why, we were wondering, did the VBox spit out numbers around 0.4 seconds slower than the track timers? Blame roll-out.At drag meetings, two staging beams - those two white lights on top of the starting tree - mark the start line. The timer starts when the car moves and uncovers the second beam, a distance close to 30cm - what is called roll-out. A hard launching car like the 911 Turbo S is already travelling 7km/h by this distance which translates to a time that's interesting but inaccurate against magazine figures. So while MOTOR's figures are accurate and repeatable, times recorded at a drag strip will always be quicker than our times recorded by the sat-nav based VBox, by around 0.2-0.4 seconds. For the record the Porsche 911 Turbo S recorded a VBox time of 12.47 and the drag strip time was 11.998 @ 186.29km/h.:biggun:<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Don't worry about manually shifting, just slot the lever into performance mode, load up the throttle against the brake to build some boost and step off.

It was even printed in Motor.I believe it was Dean (XRDreaming?)The reply is here on the forum but basically they will test the cars in what-ever way will give them the best performance including stalling the auto.Lumpy

The more aware people are of the OEM performances from blown 6's, let alone slightly modded with Edit etc, perhaps we may see a continued growing generational trend away from traditionally loved V8s? Finally, if the Holden/HSV's are NOT now as competitive with the Ford/FPV blown 6, imagine how poorly they will rate in comparison when they add all that extra weight on the VE's! Folks, enjoy making history...enjoy being part of this new Ford/FPV performance era! Safe and happy driving...Dr Z.
