after seeing numerous friends build houses I think its about 50:50 between buying someone elses problems or creating your own !

given the ideal block and plenty of coin I would build though.. after building a theatre room, gutting/designing/building an entire kitchen, stripping a house of tiles and replacing with solid timber and now about to level the backyard and start again I am ready to farken build the perfect place from day 1 !!

You're not wrong there Ross. Do it right from the beginning and you don't have to do it again. Pick up someone elses mess and you never know where it'll end up all said and done.
