Posted 01/02/09 09:26 PM Posted 01/02/09 09:26 PM My old next door neighbour took me for a spin in a brand new SL63 yesterday. FMD it has "only" 386 fwkws but here is no traction loss, ever. It redlines at 7700 and can hit that all day everyday without blushing. It moves for such a svelt machine and at 450k all the magnesium and alloy makes this large car weigh not much at all, 1938kgs actually. I would like one of these.

The guy that drove is an ex stunt driver and owner of the track. He did this thing where he went about 60 in reverse slammed on the brakes did a 360 then jambed the gas and drove it hard into the next turn on the course doing about 90 into the turn. I had to bite my lip to keep from yelling like a small Japanese school girl.

Imagine one with a huge huge solid cam + exotic stainless exhaust + all the usual stage mods tuned properly & revving to 8,000 RPM. It would have to be one of the most glorious sounds around It's perfect for me & although my current car is nearly half a second quicker over the quarter, looks, performance, huge huge brakes, billet drive line, SOUND, MANual... It ticks all the boxes except for price, which is okay since redbook says they will have a resale of 4X% in 3 years time
