September 3, 200521 yr #51 Ill race any STI on the street just wack the MT streets on eheh would be fun<{POST_SNAPBACK}>By the time you put the MTs on the STi will be gone.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>that's an advantage of a high HP Rex / STI over a high HP RWD car is the fact they have AWD which makes it a leathal combination on the track, 1/4 or street regardless.Robbie.
September 3, 200521 yr #52 that's if you dont blow the gearbox first. Stock rex running gear cant take much punishment.
September 3, 200521 yr #53 that's if you dont blow the gearbox first. Stock rex running gear cant take much punishment.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>I don't know how much you know about these cars, but my Ford gearbox did not last very long... about 2 months; the Sti gearbox in my modded STi has been there since new, and for over 5 years, done a fair bit of club racing, althought it will be replaced with an Sti 6 speed before I move to 300awkw.Brian
September 3, 200521 yr #54 What ever.Sorry your the king.Um yes I have seen plenty of wrx gearboxes blown through miss use and mods.So I say again they are not very strong gearbox standard.
September 3, 200521 yr #55 What ever.Sorry your the king.Um yes I have seen plenty of wrx gearboxes blown through miss use and mods.So I say again they are not very strong gearbox standard. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>that's because some people dont know how to drive...........
September 3, 200521 yr #57 No they do,The gearboxes cant handle the punishment. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I agree with Darren here I have a few friends with WRX's and they say the same things the box arnt tuff and this is comnig for guys that run 11's in them No disrepect to this cars but they and a great car and awesome for what they are But on a 1/4 and on the street with sticxk tyres I will still flogg it no problem at all
September 3, 200521 yr #58 No they do,The gearboxes cant handle the punishment. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>True, if you abuse a WRX tranny it will not like it... however, the STi 5 speed in the pre-bugeye model are abit stronger and can take abit more (STi gearsets are a common mod for WRX owners) and the new STi 6 speed is one very strong unit. Gadiel's Big Valley STi from Puerto Rico is in the high 9's on a STOCK STi 6 speed. Also JUN in Japan run a stock STi 6 speed in their 650+hp time attack car.And of course. The STi in my sig will put down 550-600 @ the wheels on a stock 6 speed also
September 3, 200521 yr #59 But on a 1/4 and on the street with sticxk tyres I will still flogg it no problem at all <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Yes, but how about you run a Rigoli rex or something similar on the track with the mods you run????Also, you'd want to flog them with the money you've spent..............As for bagging the WRX gearbox, all 'T' owners can't say peeky boo, except owners of 6spd manuals, seems the only box that holds some power in these overweight barges..rex with an exhaust still is the best sounding car on the road.. imo.
