So can the problem be related to all those who run a XEDE/Unichip/Edit combo?

Or can this problem happen to Edit exclusive cars as well?

It would seem that Geeas car had generated a P1227 overboost related code, which would have resulted in the performance decrease he experienced. The good news is that Edit contains a fix for this problem.

For those interested it is as simple as going to -

SCALARS

- TURBOCHARGER

and changing P1227_level from 0.6320003 to 0.9999999

Save file, reflash PCM, and problem with external boost adjusting device (Xede) solved. This is exactly what we do when adding an external Blitz/Apexi etc boost controller.

dw....so why did you need me to tell you more, glad your not just a pretty face, when do we get the yanks here for the other codes? xrdreaming is itchy!!!!

If the factory PCM was controlling the boost pressure this fault would not have been logged...but because the Xede is commanding the boost in Craigs car the PCM sees that it is not getting what it aims for and protects itself, just as the maker intended. Resetting the P1227_level removes the PCMs concern with aim boost level.

Hope this is valuable information for some members!

yes it is martin what about the fail to close code?

here you seem suprised by dynowogs comment.... Then in your above comment you mention its simple and expalin that it is the communication between the exede and the factory pcm

did this slip your mind or did you not know until DW told you more??

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

It took me that long to find out the fault code generated. Craig (geea) told me the actual number, not Dynowog. Hope that puts your mind at ease.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

it was actually in one of my posts too!!!

But by just changing the p1227 level from 0.6320003 to 0.9999999 through the edit won't get rid of the fault code already generated will it?

And if not can the edit remove p1227 code that has been logged by a workshop that just has the edit software?

no I dont wrok for a ford dealer, I work for my self. Its just I am very busy at work & not prepared to give my 9-5 time away for free. Happy to scan after hours for you while I am at home, just send me a pm. As far as what we do-the edit should not affect fault codes & disconnecting a battery will have no effect. With a scan tool-there are quite a few that do it, you simply plug it in, read current codes, print them & then erase them. I was only offering to help out fellow forum members.

As far as I know the scanner I have has just about all functions of the original scan tool, & was updated just the other day, I have used it on my own car & it definately views all live data, codes & function. Not claiming to be an expert & I cant edit the original prgramming, I just use it to diagnose faults & the like & to be honest, not too many BA's making it outside of the dealer network just yet anyways for repairs.

On that note tuner, has the STC software been released so people can make adjustments to their own tunes like the one you recommend?

No Geese, Quick Tune is still not available. Its more than likely going to be incorporated into a major software update available towards the end of the year.
