Do you honestly believe neither have any skill/talent behind the wheel?

Chris no doubt they have the ability to drive a car fast around a track and you don't get to V8 supercars level without talent. That's fine when you are qualifying and you are the only one out on the track.

What they seem to lack is the expierience and level head required at that level to go along with the skills they have. All new drivers make mistakes however most seem to learn pretty quickly what they can and can't do with the abilities they have and fit in with the rest of the field.

These two seem to get thier ambition and abilities mixed up way too often and either they are not being told loud enough or the simply don't give a stuff about the safety of the other drives let alone themselves.

As for the rich daddy comment, I have overheard on the radio on Channel 10 many times directly disobeying team orders, is it a case of as long as Daddy is footing some of the bills they can pretty much do as they please?

Crisso, I said in simplistic terms, I did not refer to there racing ability.

They have skill, and Rick is twice the driver of Todd in terms of Talent, but lacks experience and is not overley street wise.

Crisso, I was just going along with the tone of the topic, if you want a further insight and a decent post lets talk about the history of the Kelly boys.

How much did Todd’s Daddy pay HRT for Todd’s seat in the first year of racing with Skaife?

How many categories of motorsport did Rick hone his talents in to get to Supercars?

How much did Ricks Daddy pay for his seat with the Kmart team prior to his purchase from TWR?

If you understood the background of these guys, and they are not the only ones, it is clear that the only reason they are there is due to daddy’s money, in which they still live off. Whilst they have the skill to race in the category they lack the experience in the category’s prior to entering supercars. This is now starting to come to the surface by showing their lack of ‘race craft’ when a spilt second decision needs to be made, always pushing to the front is not always the key to winning.

Most drivers do ‘their time’ through various categories hone their skills and become matured drivers, eg ambrose, Lowdnes etc. Look at ambroses age versus his race style, this represents someone who has come through the ranks, and has the racing maturity to go nose to tale with the likes of skaife who has been around for years without punting each other off.

There are a few drivers that are in this category only because of money or who their parents are. There are a lot of better qualified drivers who cannot get into supercars because of this.

My comment was in ‘simplistic’ terms as indicated, if you want to delv further the history of the Kelly boys, it is well known through the industry…
