I presume its fairly humid in Rockhampton, add 32 degrees, only 6400km on the clock, it all would explain your figure (assuming the dyno figure can be compared to other figures)

I wouldnt worry.

You would need to compare your T to other figures obtained in Rockhampton for your car.

My T read 185 rwkw with CAI, Filter and 98 ron juice on the APS dyno in reasonable ambient conditions, with all the fans etc to simulate on road conditions. So lets say deduct 10 rwkw for the mods and add the heat and humidity for Rocky ( spent enough time there to know what it is like), add to that the 2nd gear run in whatever mode the Dyno was in you probably dont have too much to worry about.

Like Dewd said compare like on like with some locals to be sure

judging by feel alone it seems fine. I have driven one other stock t and it felt very comparable.

4th gear ppl, no other, unless your cars got not the bollocks to run in any gear but 3rd..

2nd gear however, I dunno why??

Mine read 163rwkw the first time I got it done, the dyno place wasnt really the best either so I had it redone and got a better result. The best way would be to take it down the strip and compare your time with other stock T's in Queensland, since our weather is different to the rest of the country. Is there a drag strip out rocky way?

Finally got down to the dyno shop today to get a gauge on how my t is before starting any mods. 165kws & 343nm torque. I gotta say that I am dissappointed with the result and looking for ways to justify the low kws.

dw....what brand and model of dyno?

1.Auto

dw.... the mk I auto's averaged 170-175 at the last dyno day here!

2.Ambient Temp 32 degrees

dw....blooming hot but did the dyno compensate for this?

3.6400 km's on clock

4.Was not done in shootout mode.( operator said they do not have that mode but the one they use is very simalar )

dw.... if a dd my old dd ran aprox 10% lower readings in normal mode and was in line with the current shoot out which does not inflate the figures!!!

5.2nd gear

dw.... mostly the 2nd gear runs ive done on auto xr6t's have read lower figures

Yeh dont stress I bet if you shopped around you gain at least another 20rwkw on another Dyno, they really do vary that much.

Next to the strip seat of the pants is a good guage so if you have driven another one and it felt similar dont second guess and beat yourself up over what you perceive to be a less than satisfying result.

Dont worry I've been where your at I only had 171 rwkw and that was with filter CAI and centre muffler mods. Now with edit I have 240rwkw which once again on another Dyno could be worth up to 260rwkw.

Now go and find something to waste and you'll feel a whole lot better

Nothing to stress about.

There are an incomprehensible array of variables in dynos, not the least of which is how they are run at the time of testing and how regularly they are maintained and calibrated. Comparing one dyno figure to one achieved by someone else or yourself on another system is fraught with danger and is relatively meaningless. Add to that, there is reasonable evidence around to show that certain individuals inflate their figures and others appear relatively conservative. Nevertheless, what you now have is a baseline figure on that particualr system with that operator who should have a record of the settings used. If and when you now decide to undertake any modification work to your T re-running on that specific dyno will show you more accurately the relative increases that you achieve which are likley to be more informative than the original figure learnt in isolation. I had what I thought to be a low number but that has since been shown to be within the normal distribution for new Ts and now a year on with a fully calibrated APS Phase II is shown to be producing a healthy 270RWKW at conservative settings which again is right in the middle of the ballpark for my configuration - auto.

Note sure about accuracey etc, but on DW's dyno, my stock auto pulled 202rwkw. Now some have said that it is not all that credible. How can I make sure it was/was not accurate?
