Xede Fitted.

Well. Jut got back from holidays with Trumpy, Cro and RJS on the Gold Coast. A few months back I managed to pick up an Xede, Vortech rising rate fuel reg and a fuel pump for a good price(Cheers ducatijb). So while in QLD I went to Chiptorque and had it all fitted and dyno tuned. The car made 249.8 rwkw which is a decent increase on the stock 184rwkw. I guess I was expecting a little more but a buckled back rim robbed me of around 10rwkw. Plus the intake temperature was nearly 30 degrees. Anyway, I am really happy with it, and it kept a smile on both mine and Trumpy's faces all the way back from QLD. I just want to say thanks to Stef and Lachlan at Chiptorque for doing such a beaut job of installing and tuning the car. I was always hesitant about the Xede in regards to the starting issues/delays that had been discussed but I can honestly say there is NO delay in starting whatsoever. I've attached a copy of the dynograph for anyone who's interested.

Cheers,

Rob

P.S. Lachlan, the wheel is in the shop being repaired. :smilielol:

Thanks Jewels. Yeh, I'd like to give it a run down the strip someday soon. After seeing all the fun you guys had, I wanna give it a shot.

Congrats Rob, what injectors are you running?

Thanks Scotty. I'm still running the stock injectors. I think I might change valve springs next, then maybe look at bigger injectors.

What effect does the rising rate fuel regulator have with the xede (I know what it does, just interested in the effect it has)???

What would be the difference without it??

Thanks

Not worried a bit actually...

Rob's driving is how do you say, SOFT. I had to pull over every 5 mins so he could catch up. :gooff: When matty was driving it was a different story, I'm glad he remembers how to drive a real car :D

The back pressure from the 2nd regulator only works on a very small area of the diaphram, equal to the bore of the 1st regulator's discharge stand pipe. This is why the 2nd regulator does not add a step in pressure to the first. For any series regulator set-up, properly sized for flow, the unit which regulates to a higher pressure will govern, whether front or back unit, and the other regulator goes wide open in a futile effort to reduce line pressure.

This expains why he got good number (240rwkw) with a buckled rim and at 30deg ambiant on stock injectors, more pressure means more fuel per squirt without having to max the injectors out on duty cycle.

I spoke to Stef at Chiptorque on Thursday with regards to the fitting and tuning my xede and he could not have been more helpful, and I bought mine second hand too.

Nice ride by the way.
