I know ss inductions and the like make good c.a.I,s but I think they are are tad expensive,do you think its worth making my own,are the performance gains similar??.I can make my own but time to get on my car is hard to get at the moment..I cant really find much on cais when I do a search. :w00t2:

For around $50 this what you can do CAI

bunnings performance works well but still retains facory abortion plumbing!

on the other hand the mcshaker and the geea style cai's have short free flowing plumbing the biggest bang for buck mod!

I have been doing the geea style intakes for yearswith great success as geea will say about his that I think he said amberly's did. this will require a compact battery or a relocation

Here is a link. This is the CAI I had on my old car and similar to a few of the other guys on here. It is probably the cheapest option.

Here is the link. This is the link to my current car and its CAI. Its much better than the other one but also more expensive. I think Amberley are doing these for around $700 but I'm not sure. If you'd like more info from me please ask.

Geea. :spoton:

If you are not going to mod the crap out of your car, do either the Geea mod or the XR8 2nd snorkel mod. I did the xr8 one and it cost me $60 and about 1 hour of time.

I made mine & it cost me about $4 for a couple of bolts & it has more power than Goldie's SS this n SS that equipment, whoops sorry mate.

My cold air thingo cost $2.00, a 6" piece of flexy stormwater pipe and 20 minutes!

Had the SS CAI on the T early on and thought it added a bit on top of the BMC filter but at 400 bucks it is pretty pricey V gain.

Also didn't like the design with those bloody deflectors , defelecting the air away from the radiator , and the plastic inlet started to sag and needed propping up :spoton:

I would go one of the mods already listed and spend some money on a decent panel filter ( BMC ) :smilielol:

I can hear the waste gate or BOV now when you lift now :smilielol:

Never could with the K&N

Did mine today cost nothing as I found enuf stuff around the workshop.

Used a ED falcon intake pipe, some pvc pipe, the rubber seal out of the ED intake pipe,a flexible intake pipe(origin unknown) and some silastic

It does make a difference especially in between 60 to 100 as that was a fast as I took it today, also seems better off the mark, not to sure on fuel economy as it would have been through the roof while testing.
