well that's about the same as Craig's mods, except you get bigger injectors!

Xcede - $1500

injectors - $700

total - $2200

not bad for 270rwkws (and that's an auto or should I say WAS an auto - R.I.P Boof)

Got this from Haltech today. They say around $1000 for the ECU.

> Haltech is currently working on an ECU for the BA turbo this is true.

> The "Interceptor" as it is known has had great success on our BA turbo

Ute,

> and sedan. It will also feature boost control. Our Ute makes around 270 Kw

> at the wheels on 10Psi of boost.

> This is done a completely standard car with the exception of larger

> injectors.

> This unit will be released in around 2 weeks time so keep a look out on

the

> website for further developments!

Hi All,

I work at Haltech, and am the developer of this product. It is currently being sent to Haltech dealers for their evaluation and will then be available for sale shortly after that. This unit works in a similar way to the Unichip and XEDE. We believe that we have a few benefits over these products, but it is not appropriate for me to start a pissing contest on a public forum... espeically when our product is in its early days, and is not on many cars yet.

In terms of maximum outright power, it will be similar for mechanical mods to the Unichip and XEDE. It really comes down to the tuner ability, and the safety factor required by the owner. We have achieved around 270kW ATW with stock injectors on our ute, but it has PWR intercooler and plumbing and exhaust, as well as shorter diffs I believe. On an Auto sedan with stock exhaust and intercooler, we were at around 240kW ATW at about 9.5 psi, but for most customers I would recommend running less boost than this, as the injectors have really reached their limit. On this same sedan, we upgraded the fuel pump and put in bigger injectors and pumped up boost to 12psi, and it was doing 280kW ATW. There is more in it as injectors are not yet maxed, but we are thinking that this may be the safe limit of the stock internals, so we have not pushed it further yet.

At the end of the day, the Haltech product is another option of treading a road to a similar end to Unichip and XEDE. There is differences, as this product slightly different view on an interceptor more along the Haltech way of thinking, and we believe alot customers will like some of our features, but power wise, it is an electronic box that allows the engine to be tuned in a similar way to other interceptors, and it then relys on the skill of the tuner and the required safety margins, and the mods for the final power output.
