Jeeezz ,I still rember using the old highway to get to melbourne.If you did it in 8 hours you were a hero.What a poxy trip that used to be,stuck behind a pig truck with pig siht and psis splashing on your screen,no place to pass for hours,then ppl would pass when you shouldnt,crazy stuff back then

9 hours 45 minutes in an EH station wagon, in 1965

7 hours 18 minutes.... in a HG 350 monaro in 1972

In the EH, on a hot summer's day, when the air conditioning comprised of winding the windows down and directing the quarter vent to force outside air into your face.....

And then you pass a truckload of sheep/cattle or cops on the way to the slaughterhouse.... the smell was bad enough, but when they piss and sh*t themselves Something I didn't want to recollect.
