After the latest quote, I think I'll be shot if I spend another cent on the car before the wedding 😅🤣
-
Very happy Wednesday! Basically a Friday today. No work tomorrow, took Friday off, and Monday is a P/H. Mint 👌 Also, work is currently filming their promotional video, so I'm doing basically FA all day. To top it off, its pay day!

Taste better, probably. But you can't have a HSP and not have it be a doner, mixed meat ordeal after a hectic night on the p*ss
-
Watching an American trying to make the classic Aussie HSP is very entertaining 🤣 Looks good, but if I was anal, I'd say its not a real HSP, its grilled chicken on chips. Needs more doner kebab 😂 *insert hectic VL dose here

Yea can't say I've experienced that with the factory diff. The diff takes everything I throw its way, but that's been at low power (300ish kw), will be very interested to see how it goes after the next tune. I have heard stories of the factory LSDs breaking, but doesn't appear to a common occurrence. Not as much as breaking tail shafts anyway
-
Not this time unfortunately. Playing with limited funds while I save for our wedding and house deposit I haven't had any issues with the factory diff so far, so I'm happy leaving it for now anyway. I've replaced the oil regularly so its well taken care of!

.... But it intercepts the throttle input. Clearly I don't know how these work
-
News just in, straight from reputable FB group, throttle controllers break fuel pumps
-
I'd move to gtx purely because of the massive efficiency gains over the gt. Imo, way worth the upgrade! I reckon just fit a whole gtx turbo rather than just the core, more expensive but way worth it
-
Interesting, could just be a v2 thing lol

Got a date set, team at Monsta Torque defs very busy! Car will be going in on the 10th of Next month (10th Oct). Gives me some time to prepare myself for the silly amounts of money that's about to be thrown at it. Cars a great All seriousness though, the main expense is the ims diff hat. My diff housing thing for the main rear bush is fatigued and cracking, so while the cradle is removed it'd need to be repaired. Why repair when you can upgrade right. Interested to see if I notice a change in handling - hoping so hahaha. Assuming the work will take a couple days, should have some results and figures to show by that Friday, 14th Oct.

@Slowxr6t did you end up taking pics and posting them somewhere? Curious to see it
-
that's awesome @k31th!! How is the GPS holding up? My only annoyance with the kayhan head unit I have is that the GPS can take a long time to find satellites. I.e. it takes a while to find my location. Has this been an issue for you at all? On that topic, where did you mount the GPS antenna? That could play a role with my issue as mine is just under the ICC top hat

This sounds so unlikely that I literally don't believe you

Its odd that it appears to be mostly analogue... The gauge must have more of the smarts in it and this is just an interface board. Doesn't seem to be any smarts on that thing whatsoever
-
Cheers Puff Just doing some quick reading on it, seems as though the basic kit is simply boost trigger switched. I.e. Hobbs switched relay to trigger pump, which squirts the stuff into the engine. Amount controlled by nozzle size. This is tickling my electronics brain.... Developing a controller for this would be fun!
-
I really like the idea of these kits! Still blows my mind that its mixed with water and squirted (giggity) into the engine 😂 Don't think its something I'd do with a factory ecu. Sounds like something I'd love to have controlled by an ecu. Unless the PCMtec can do it, then I'll shut up hahah

Exactly Rob and Dale made a few very good points 100% e85 is fine, until you NEED fuel and you're not close to a united. Then you're fked. The car isn't driven every day, so the fuel will sit, and e85 no like sitting... So, they said that if you do want e85 tune, that's completely fine. But you're gonna want to have a multi tune so you can at the very least switch fuel and tunes to have the flexibility. All up that would add 2k to the bill for PCMtec credits and tuning. No ty, I'll back back another time for that 🤣 Also, found out today that the IMS diff hat uses Toyota bushes, no wonder they're so reliable!
-
Righto, saw Rob and the team at MT yesterday and we have a game plan. Car will dropped off in a few weeks E85 is not happening yet, I had to make the call. For some back story, the last log book service the car had was at MT, and it was noted that my diff bush housing is starting to crack. Classic falcon doing classic falcon things. I had completely forgotten about this. They will be fitting the Ultrex 4" zorst for me, and the cradle needs to be dropped to do this. Rob suggested that we have a crack at fixing the diff while its out, which then lead into a quote for an IMS diff hat.... So, no e85 this time around and instead its getting the IMS. Tbh, probably the more mature option - fixing the car rather than adding even more power to it. With that said, its going in for fitting springs, head studs, exhaust. IMS diff hat will be installed and a retune on BP98. With the current setup we should see the car juuuuust tip in to the 400kw range. Will post more when I know more. Cheers all the mad lads and lasses on this forum that has gotten me to where I am now. Seriously, couldn't have done all this without all your help

Today I found out Dell charges $270AUD for a 2TB HDD that is a WD blue. For anyone curious its a $70AUD hard drive
-
That sounds so crap! 🤣🤣🤣
-
that's exactly the same as me! I don't have anything to print at home so its not worth it for me. Its really neat being able to access one though, when I need it. I'm printing two more of these too. Justification, "test prints to ensure the printer is behaving as expected" 🤣

As I said before, I'd share a photo of the backboard of the car. This piece of MDF is actually intended to hold the two amps in the boot. But also works great as a place to mount sh*t. Its messy, but manageable. I'll eventually remove the amps from the ground block and have them on their own grounds. I just didn't want to drill on the panel just below the MDF (where the hanger is mounted) because I was scared the fuel tank was behind it, and that would be a bad time hahah. Hopefully the pump doesn't cause too much electrical noise for the amps, if it does I'll consider making a noise suppression board to reduce it. In time, though EDIT: This board is also not final, I have done a lot of drilling and screwing and sh*t to it, so I will be cutting out another one in the future and redoing the power wiring for the amps. This is perfectly fine for now

Cleaned the 3D printer at work on Friday and needed to run a test print. Added this into print too seeing as my brother has been asking for one for literal years hahah Its one of them cup stop things so your drinks don't go falling over. Also serves well as a little coin holder too You can put it in the other way though, if you don't want the extra little storage compartment. Just needs a bit of gloss black and it'll look mint! Printed using a Formlabs photopolymer resin. I had printed one for myself many years ago in a glass reinforced resin, but we dont' have any left - it was also expensive lol. That one is still holding up great. Interested to see how this resin goes during the summer months

Nothing exciting, just a little bench test box for testing tail lights. It'll save me having to put them in to the car constantly to test. Rather just bench test them Will also be an easy way to show the difference between a factory set and my custom set. Stickers to label the switches have been made since this photo was taken. Putting the Mrs Cricut Explore 3 to good use 🤣 For anyone curious how this thing works: It uses an STM32 dev board as the brains, it takes the switches as inputs (with some s/w debounce to reduce components) and triggers some relays to switch the higher current outputs. I did it this way so I could eventually run stress test patterns and I can also set the indicator switching speed.
