  1. 6 letter is $395 custom mix is $495 I think the NSW guys might be paying for road taxes etc through their number plates instead of their rego like we do in Victoria. Rego in vic is around the $500 mark every year and I noticed it is cheaper in NSW.
  2. Sounds differnt doesnt it and feels different lol ← It's not as noisy as it sounded with the standard filter, but it has more of a tighter sound (if that makes sense). The tut tut and chu chu is all a lot more audible though. I even got wheel spin at the lights when I took off quick. That has never happened either.
  3. Question for anyone else that has fitted this: I noticed tonight when I backed off suddenly in first (due to coppers coming around corner) I got the high pitched laser gun chu chu chu. Is that normal or have I popped off my hose again? When revving high in park and letting off I get the tut tut tut but I hadn't heard that noise before. Any need for concern?
  4. Thanks for all your help Picked one up today
  5. So you have the straight through then? Next question: Can anyone recommend a good exhaust place in the south east suburbs of melbourne? I've had enough of my local exhaust dude. He doesn't listen to what I have to say and keeps recommending the 3" system (in a "I know better" voice) even though in EVERY article I have read and from others on this site have said that the 3" is too small.
  6. I'm at odds what to do. Can anyone list the pros and cons of both a straight through system (centre muff removed) vs twin dogs replacing the centre muff..
  7. No, but I listen to the Once Were Warriors theme song a lot. Bloody great song
  8. Used to be once a week but with the current water restrictions (no washing the car allowed) it's about once every 2 weeks. I dust down the dash area and vaccuum the rest at the same time.
  9. It was called Phillip Island Resort, but from what I was told they changed their name to The Islander Resort. Can't wait! ← Just around the corner from my place! It's also where Sete Gibernau stays when he is in town.
  10. Well today I got a phone call from a place I talked to back in October and they've had some cancellations. So now I'm 5 mins from the track! Woohoo! ← that's better! Where abouts now? Quite a few XR's down already. The NSW contingent started showing up yesterday. And today some of the grid girls were in at work . Haven't seen any drivers yet though..
  11. What is the guy saying as he takes off? Nicepro or Nitro or something like that? Yeah looks like a Rapid with big(ger) wheels (maybe 19 or 20's?) or really really low. The top part of the rear wheel is hidden under the body
  12. Its somewhat simialr to roundabouts, whereby you drive straight through and make no turn right or left, you are still required to indicate your exit, even though you make no turn. It appears pointless to indicate and confuse other drivers about the fact your going straight through the roundabout but your are still required too. ← That is the most ridiculous road rule NSW has. I had this debate not long ago and still to this day do not understand why you have to indicate that you are going straight ahead? Surely it's some kind of joke! If you don't use an indicator on a roundabout isn't it obvious that the person is driving straight? The retort I got from most people that lived in Sydney was that they could still turn without their indicator if they forgot to use it (or were too lazy). Well the same applies for overusing the indicator. What if the person turns it on too early or too late?

Not really fussed. I'll take what is given and wait for the price drop on current Typhoons
  14. I'm looking at buying a K&N flat panel filter for the T and have seen people say they have got them for roughly $110. Where is it that you can get them for that price? The cheapest I have found so far is $127 + $12 postage. Usually I wouldn't bother hunting around to save $15 but with Xmas so close and the missus dragging me around the shops this weekend I just know that the credit card is going to get a good ole' hammering TIA
  15. I've always used the 'merge when safe to do so' rule. If that means I have to brake then so be it. I generally let people in unless they are sitting right beside me - in that case I'll speed up to allow them in behind me without them running out of road. But there's always one asshole that will do what happened to you. It used to be the young(er) drivers that left their manners at home when driving, but it seems to have spread across the board now. Or perhaps I'm just becoming more cynical as I get older I had an old bloke (had to've been in his late 70's) tailgate me so close that I could only see his windshield in the mirror. He didn't take to kindly when I tapped the brake lights. I refuse to speed up in those circumstances cos he's not going to pay my speeding fine should I be caught out..

    to the loony bin
  17. Bugger! Oh, and it's Kilcunda . It's not too far from the Island though and has great ocean views. Best thing is you'll be travelling against the main flow of traffic on race days until you get to the Island. Perhaps next year I'll rent out some rooms. I'm only 10 mins drive from the track
  18. http://www.movingcars.com.au/ Roughly $1100 for the transport. http://www.carcarrying.com.au/ Quoted $1200 for delivery from Melbourne to Perth. Some notes attached to the quote summary.. - We do not transport non-driveable vehicles - under any circumstances. - Price includes comprehensive cover for vehicle during the transit process. - Vehicles are not permitted to contain any personal effects or spare parts within the vehicle (with the exception of rear mounted spare wheels). - No vehicle should travel with any covers or tarpaulins fitted. Hope this helps
  19. Jumping back a couple of months. Is anyone heading down to Phillip Island next weekend for the V8's? I was supposed to be going to the race but the free ticket deal fell through and my wife has better ideas (ie: xmas shopping ). It would be nice to put faces to forum name/cars if anyone is heading down.
  20. It's 5 mins drive to work, 25 min walk. That gives me more time to post on here before work in the morning . Over Xmas I'll be walking though. We're not allowed to park in the carpark and I aint leaving the T down the main street. ← No where to park for me and it aint going on some public street for a hole day. Cityfail for me. ← No such thing as public transport on Phillip Island unless there's a major event on at the track and they have the shuttle service running. It's either car power or leg power

  22. Can't you just go to a Ford dealer and ask for the part? They don't need to know what you are driving.
  23. At idle, when cold, mine sits at around 1100rpm and only drops to 900rpm when warmer. If you drive off when it's cold you can feel it trying to surge forward, even when braking. The only problem is I only live approx 5 mins from work and the car never fully warms up.

Where can you buy a 360 for $500 with a hard drive? I'll buy one if I find it that cheap. ← It was in a target or K mart catalog, $499 with 20 gig hard drive, controller and a game I had never heard of, I'll try and find the catalog. ← Target Catalogue: It's the Core Console for that price. The HDD is sold seperately. Kmart Catalogue: Myer Catalogue:
  25. There's a P plater with a Phantom T (no spoiler) down here atm (Phillip Island). We have schoolies on and there's nice cars/daddies cars everywhere. I'm not sure if the T is restricted because Victoria is still using the power/weight ratio. It's not until 2008 that the new legislation comes through that forbids you to drive V8's and Turbos.
