Looking For Good Ford Dealer In Brisbane For Warranty Servicing
CN RED replied to SILK RSPEC's topic in General Tech
I'd steer clear of Bryan Burt Ford at MtGravatt/Mansfield. Had 1 really good service there in April this year. Went back again in September to fix warranty items and replace the fascia around the gear knob and they ruined my hand brake and forgot to put all the screws back in the centre console when they pulled it out. Had me there for 5 hours!!! Apparently they have changed management, and the level of service has really slipped in my opinion. Might give southside ford a go for the next service. -
Hey guys, I'd like to come out there and watch. The mod bug hasn't hit me yet, I'd be keen to check out some of the cars and maybe even plan some mods for the very near future!!! Cheers, Dimitri

Hey All, Put me down for the cruise!!! Can't wait. Cheers, Dimitri

Hello All, About time we get to go on another cruise!!! I had such a good time on the last one in late July. Like Tab said, it would be great to see some new faces as well as the usual ones. As for dates; 18th Novemebr onwards is good for me (as with everyone else there is always something going on) Sundays are always good. As for location: not fussed. Been in QLD 6 months now so any chance to explore is a bonus. Cheers, Dimitri

Seq's Biggest Cruise On Again - All For Charity - Sept 9th.
CN RED replied to phantomchic's topic in Queensland
Hello All, Just wondering if people from this club are going to meet up somewhere and drive down together? Cheers, Dimitri -
Hello All, Thanks for a great afternoon. I had an absolute ball, struggling to keep up at times, but enjoyed every bit of it. It was also a real pleasure to meet you all, I think I said hi to most people didn't get around to everyone. Felt very welcome as well and definitely look forward to getting along to another cruise in the near future. We ended up getting a couple pics as well, will post in the next couple of days. Cheers, Dimitri

Hey I've been having the same problem with my 10pound tune. I had my car serviced by Ford up here in brisbane when I moved up a couple month ago. Now every time I load the 10pound tune it does the same. Bit embarrassing on the highway when u try and overtake and u just can't get it to accelerate. I have not done anything to the car. I was going to get CV Performance to check it out next time I'm in sydney. So that makes 2 of us, 01txr.

Hey All, Sounds like a cause worth supporting. Count me in. Hope to see a great turnout from the Blue Oval!!! -
Hey guys, Yes Marrickville is in sydney. I haven't been able to update my settings to reflect that. I moved up here to Brisbane a couple months ago and finally got my licence back last Tuesday. Haven't got my plates converted over as they are going to cost me a tidy sum. I travel to NSW frequently so I think I can hang onto them a bit sooner. While I was in Sydney my girlfriend was nice enough to be my driver for the day and got to meet some of the guys from there. I must say it was a little daunting but all turned out be great to get along with. My apologies for the incorrect date. 28th it is. The 29th would have been a lonely cruise!!! Cheers, Dimitri

Congrats there Zap. All the best to you and your family. Dimitri

Hello All, Pleased to say I will be attending the cruise on 29th. Look forward to putting some faces to the names. Cheers, Dimitri

Hello all, Some good news from my end. I got my licence back on Tuesday!!! After nearly 5 anxious hours at DMR, all the appropriate checks were done and confirmed that my disqualification period was over. As I have recently moved to Brisbane I applied for a QLD licence instead of going back to NSW. The advantage as I found out was that by serving my probationary period in QLD I can have up to 4 demerit points. Wheras NSW will only give me 2. So CN RED is on the loose again!!! After 15 months its time to get back behind the wheel. Only sour side to all this is that I have a special excess of $1000, so at least the premium stays the same!! Lesson well learnt. Anyway looking forward to getting along to a cruise to meet some of u guys and gals!! Cheers, Dimitri

Hey guys, The warranty starts from the day the car is first registered. In your case it started on 20/04/04. This takes your 3 year warranty to 20/04/07. Unfortunately your warranty has now lapsed. The reason I know this is cause I was in a similar situation. My car was built dec 03 but was not registered till sep 04. I got given all the booklets and specifically asked about warranty. I was told by Ford that it starts on the date the car is first registered. In my case I was lucky that the car was only ever owned by a dealership and not registered for nearly a year after it was built. Bonus is that I have an 03 built car that is still under warranty till sep 07!! Cheers, Dimitri

Currently running the Toyo Proxes. I have found them to be relatively quiet and have great grip in all conditions. Under $300 a corner for those ones. Great value tyre in my opinion.

I went with CN RED (seein red) for my car. Reason initially was cause of the colour of the car. Nowadays it has become the nickname of the car, and at times reflects my state of mind whilst driving!!!

Great write up there ANTISOCIAL, good to see pics and read about how you did it. It looks great. My idea is similar to the Aston Martin bonnet. I think it suits the bulge and generally the shape of the car. Just might have to stop dreaming about it and give it a go!!! I'll be sure to post pics and write up if I do it.

I have also experienced the same on the stretch of the Pacific Highway near Newcastle. About 2 weeks after I bought my T it was bucketing down rain and I had cruise set to 100, chatting away with my girlfriend before I new it the car was almost sideways. Inititally I panicked and tapped the brakes which cancelled the cruise control. I actually momentarily let go of the steering wheel and the car straightened itself up. Maybe it was the tyres, who knows. Maybe it's a myth. Definately left me shaken enough not to do it again. I have told people about it ever since and I have yet to come across someone who actually knew 'the myth' Anyway that's my story.
