Car Not Feeling Stable Above 100km/h
kawerx replied to JimmyXR6T04's topic in Suspension and Handling
When I got my first BA back from the "engineers" (Carerra motors in melbourne)after a minor shunt,it did not fell 100% either.I could feel a small knock over bumps ect.just before hitting the freeway I pulled into a servo and had a look.I'm glad I did because I found ALL 10 front wheel nuts loose.I could turn them all with my fingers. close call.I will make sure none of my cars go there again. And it took them over 4 weeks to put a rack in it. -
Am I rite?Is it always dolled up woman selling this sort of s*#t?

Forget it.Its just an upsell.Just say no,no matter how short her skirt is!

I loke were your head is at! Motards rock!!!and are perfect for city traffic.easy to ride, light weight and quick off the mark.not great on the highway though.more fun than a 250cc four stroke road bike

Hi guys, has anyone tuned thier Terris? I dont want more power but better economy would be nice. Has anyone got any capa generic economy tunes? What were the results?

Are you happy with the springs Goldie? were they standard off the shelf raised king springs or custom? I am thinking of doing the same. I might see if there is clearace for 235/65/17 tyres as well.as this would give a lot more choice of tyres. I got a punchure in one of my awd terri's goodyears and its $290. OMFG! Has anyone got better prices for these as I still need one?

Whiteline Swaybars For Utes? Who Uses Em?
kawerx replied to Dannopower's topic in Falcon Utes (UTEopia)
I used a whiteline rear bar in my ute.I would recomend it.It made it more predictable to oversteer, easier to control(on private roads of course).I only fitted rear bar but would say(from previos experience)that fitting front and rear would do wonders for the BA. Fitting the rear bar seemed to make the lsd work better too IMO.maybe because of weight transfer to the inside rear wheel. swaybars are always the best value spend for handling IMO. -
I love the way the terri drives on road.much better than a patrol or disco. 98% of my driving is done on road.I dodt want a bush basher, but the Terri is a great all road tourer IMO. Last month I covered 10000km in Vic,SA,NT,Qld and NSW. The Terri was fantastic.the only concern was the ground clearance.I cased it out a few times at high speed on roads like the Birdsville track. No damage done, but I will be making an alloy bashplate for future trips. PS: the Northern Territory ROCKS!!! Victoria sux!

Has anyone done any mild offroad set ups on a Terri? Im thinking raised springs, differant tyres, bullbar, driving lights ect.

if you just want some boom, then it will be ok.If you want really good sound quality then I would say no. It was ok for me as I dont drive around with the stereo up flat out.moderate levels ok. if you want a killer system, change the head unit. you can always try it,and get a head unit later.the hi-lo converters are not expensive, maybe $20.00.give it a go. what do other people think?
-
I used a set of Fusion 5X7 splits in the front doors.these fit straight in.6 inch splits will need an adaptor plate. I used the standard head unit with hi-lo line converters to run an amp for the subs. this is a bit of a compomise as the sound quality is not as good as it would be with a good head unit and rca leads.but I still wanted to use the steering wheel controls, and it looked stock. All hidden.

which state? Laws vary from state to state.

What would an european XR6T cost? $120,000-$150,000 in BMW or Merc. What is the equivelant BM or merc? M3 or ummmm....I dont know really. I think the T is good for the price.

ummmmmmmmmmm.... id probably want it in the car if I blew a tyre or had to change the tyre at 3am in the middle of nowhere.. Dave ← yes I know that.Carry it in your pocket or hide it really well is what I'm saying.locknuts wont put them off if they can find the key.smashing them off is noisy, not what they want. ← lock nuts dont do anything try a 9/16th socket or equivelant and wack the f*ck out of it in the lock nut and turn with a ratchet and bobs your uncle lock nut comes off. had to do it when I lost my lock nut key. ← Yes I'v done this to cars at work, but the scumbags who knock wheels off dont want to make too much noise,so they may look elsewhere.

Are these the same size as standard?

Yep!! We need more driver training.young kid I work with(17 y.o.) has had 3 motorbike crashes in 4 months.last one into a parked truck.now he is in hospital in pieces.will probably be there for months.he had zero training before being handed his licence. He evan FAILED the eye test, but they gave it to him anyway. Why cant they put back some of the money into training?

I think I misunderstood it a bit. found this: ford

I think I got I virus off the site with the angelena funny video.as soon as I went to it comp started playing up.did a virus check and found a trojan horse virus. I could be wrong about where it came from but I think it was there. Anyone else get this? Im no wizz with computers.

I think it has a clutch set up like an air-con compressor and only comes on as required. Can someone with a BF run out and look at the front of you altenator and see if it has a clutch on the puuley? if it does a photo would be nice. if I'm wrong I'll get back in box.

I think they should go further. start with a black box in your car.this is linked to a gps system that knows the speed limit of the road you are on. this is connected via satalite to big brother.do more than 3kmh over the limit and they just direct debit your bank account. more than 25kmh and a divvy van will be waiting for you to arrive home to take you to jail. 50kmh over the limit they fire a missile at your car and your toast. :rl: I work on a main road with a speed limit of 40kph.cops have a field day.(dont get me started on parking officers either),but thier are drug deals and people shooting up everywhere.call the cops for this and they dont show up.makes me mad!

One more tip, dont leave your lock nut key in the car.they WILL find it. I carry mine in my pocket.this is a real pain but better than finding the T up on bricks. Just dont forget to carry it. If you must keep it in the car, hide it really well.not in the console or with the jack.try somewhere like under a kick panel or under the carpet or something.
