  1. Mate you must be one happy vegemite and its good to see.I got the boys at Nizpro to do the edit, valve springs,injectors,I/c and also a smb dump/cat.If you look at my car it looks totally standard outside and under the bonnet (not underneath but anyway).Everything else is stock and stealth and that's how I want it (even the pwr I/c is black). Nizpro certainly know what they are doing and the journey down there was worth it.I got 297rwkw and it has transformed my car. So after all the issues you had I'm glad it all worked out well.
  2. Might put the big bore kit on the harley, will pick up all of 40hp, now there's bang for buck- not !!!
  3. Yeah that's probably right Adam. Bang for buck isnt brilliant, though it is tempting.Wonder what else I could do to get to 330rwkw. Um....
  4. As far as fuel goes my car with 192rwkw ran 10.3ltrs/100kms then with edit, custom tune etc and 297rwkw ran 9.2ltrs/100kms- highway kms that is !! Now with the extra oomph you are only using part throttle around town which is more economical.Put the boot in however and its a different story. So if I took the mods a step further and put a nizpro stage 2 to get 330rwkw(currently has nizpro stage 1 running 297rwkw @13psi)I wonder how much more boost will it run and if you would notice 30rwkw extra with 3psi more.
  5. Hey all, I read a lot about how people get sensational power figures from various mods from various tuners.(myself included in this category ). So my question is cant you just crank up the boost to achieve a certain power level? Boost = power. Obviously a xr6t will struggle with internals around the 330rwkw+ mark but a phoon can achieve more due to stronger internals. Lots of people say they are getting x amount of rwkw but very rarely do people say what boost they are,and were originally running.Obviously if a stock xr6t runs 5-6psi stock its going to achieve much higher power levels simply by turning up the boost to 13 or 14psi. If this sounds stupid I apologise otherwise I would like to hear your thoughts.
  6. How have you guys taken the badges off ? I have the 'turbo' badge taken off but want to take the rest off, just leave the ford badges on.
  7. I agree with some of the others here.Take the badges off.My xr6t has the turbo badge taken off and it looks like a normal xr6. You can really have some fun with cars at lights.Keep it stealth and keep it all under the bonnet is my 0.2c.I got an I/c put on but a black one and with the black lower grill installed you can hardly tell the I/c has been changed.
  8. When I get a minute I will take some photos of the dyno graphs and post them here. Stay tuned.
  9. I currently have the centre muffler removed with straight pipes.I have recently been edited new injectors, valve springs,I/C and smb dump/cat. I would like to tone the noise down a bit.If I put hotdogs on will this affect my custom tune?
  10. Sorry we didn't get a chance to talk for longer. Now I have the smb dump/cat with centre muffler removed with straight pipes I need to quieten her down a bit.If I put hotdogs on will this stuff the custom tune/edit?? If I put the centre muffler back on will it stuff the custom tune/edit ?? The car is a bloody pleasure to drive now and has lots more grunt everywhere.Any more power and I will have to start upgrading internals etc .
  11. Oh well... worth a try! The only modded T I've been in is Simon's ute and I don't think that is a car I should be using as a guide to what a stand alone edit goes like vs edit/inj/springs as it's got the whole lot and more... and then some more after that... Jack <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Seriously its a different car. Its goes like a scalded cat but if funds allow go the Cobra stage 2 with the I/c plumbing, pod filter etc.It gets rid of heaps of plumbing, puts the intake right next to the turbo which would reduce lag big time. But I am as happy as a pig in mud with edit, injectors, valve springs.Go for it,you wont regret it.If I was to do anything else it would be bigger brakes to stop the beast, decent rims, springs and that would just about do me. Good luck with it all.
  12. Sorry dude but I live in Sydney.Just drove down for a few days.
  13. Phoon, Phoon, go the Phoon !!!!!!!
  14. Mate it feels like a different car. When you gas it now it only takes part throttle and lets out a whistle on acceleration and a flutter on deceleration if that makes sense. It is fairly loud though with the centre muffler removed and straight pipe as well as the dump/cat but I like the note.It is deep now and far from obnoxious but I will get a mate to do a drive-by and listen to it for myself. In the car it sounds pretty tough but you wouldn't want it any louder.
  15. Well I finally got my car down to Nizpro today.Got the Cobra stage 1 with edit, injectors and valve springs. Also got a SMB dump pipe and cat and a PWR intercooler. Car went from 192rwkw to 297.5rwkw at 13psi. Aside from the dyno figures the seat-of-the-pants is fantastic.Heaps of low to mid range grunt and when your on it it just keeps going. The car is now very responsive right through the rev range The other good thing so far is the fuel economy.Freeway driving went from 10.3litres/100kms to 9.2litres/100kms so hopefully the city driving figures will decrease as well.Only got done today so sorry I cant give you more details but watch this space. Thanks to Simon and Dave for their efforts and professional approach and would highly recommend them.
  16. No, the Nizpro stage 2 is $7995. If you have the stage 1 already, $3450, you only pay the difference, about $4500 in my calculation.
  17. Now now gentleman I only wanted to get some opinions on various options. My intention was not to create a sledging match, although it was amusing !!! I do thank you all for your opinions.I am going to do the Cobra stage 1 + smb dump pipe/cat.Then in 6 months or so when I get bored with 260-270rwkw I will add the Cobra stage 2 options such as intercooler, plumbing, air box etc.Already got k@n filter, centre muffler removed,2nd cai. Hopefully Simon @ Nizpro will do his stuff, so for now I will have to be content with 260rwkw, then bring on 320rwkw.Funds permitting I would have defo.gone stage 2 but bloody money stood in my way. Thanks again lads and be nice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. 4" SMB dump pipe and 4" SMB cat Approx $1000 3.5" Exhaust system with 2 mufflers $1350 AutoSport Engineering tube and fin intercooler $995 404cc/min Bosch Injectors $900 Bigger fuel pump $250 BA GT-P valve springs $150 plus fitting ($800 fitting charge from Ford) Mal Wood Stage 4 clutch kit $1400 - $1500 Those prices are what I payed close to a year ago. Injectors and the intercooler can be purchased cheaper now. I replaced my valve springs once the engine made more than 310rwkw. I don't know if his budget will get him the power he's after, but it might come close. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Remember these prices dont include labour and a custom tune so no way $5k would cover it.Another $1500 would go close.
  19. Nizpro cobra stage 1 with edit, injectors and valve springs = $3495 260-270rwkw Nizpro cobra stage 2 with the above, intercooler with all plumbing, battery and air intake relocation, pod filter, plenum etc = $7995 320rwkw. Both include custom tunes obviously.

I will see how I pull up after Saturday night as I will probably have a few cleansing ales. Short of that I would love to go for a burn !!!
  21. Yeah the cobra stage 2 would be the ideal. But if I cant get the necessary funds, which would be the choice; rajab I/C or PWR I/C ???? APS exhaust or SMB dump/cat ???? Currently have the centre muffler removed without hotdogs. Are most people running hotdogs and has anybody changed the rear muffler. If so how has it altered the sound. So I assume the SMB dump/cat will up the noise level somewhat. Mike @ Tuffys Alexandria reckons 109db on mine currently.its not that noisy, only burbles on idle or low revs but when you give it some the sound subsides greatly. My mates Ducati runs 108db and that's noisy as !! A hell of a lot more than my car. cheers guys
  22. My ba mk 2 gets 15.7ltrs/100kms city driving and around 37-380kms to a tank. About 11litres/100kms country driving.
  23. Well my car is visiting Nizpro soon for a bit of work.Looking for around 300rwkw thus my options are; 1. Cobra stage 1 + either the APS exhaust or the SMB dump/cat + I/C ,either a Rajab or PWR. 2. Cobra stage 2 with I/C, all the plumbing and intake etc and forget the exhaust mods. So for option 1, is the aps full exhaust a better option or would the smb dump/cat be suffice considering the main restriction is in the cat.(the smb is about $500 cheaper too) Also with the I/C, is the Rajab bar and plate I/C a $400 better option than the PWR.I want the I/C black to maintain the stealth look. Obviously option 2 is slightly more expensive but when I do it I want do it once and do it properly. cheers guys in advance.
  24. I am getting some work done at Nizpro in a few weeks and putting on an I/c.Going with either a Hyperflow or a Rajab garrett style, both bar and plate. Both about $1300.Going with a black version for the stealth look. Anybody have any comments about the Hyperflow?? We know the Rajab is good.
  25. My missus has 2 cats which sleep in the garage, yes with the T, and the Harley. If you leave her outside at night she bangs so hard on the front security door you have to let her in.And the bloody cat bed isnt good enough, one of the cats decides to sleep on my bike seat (not happy Jan). Not brilliant for the paint as you could imagine. The bike has a cover but the damn cat gets under it and snuggles up on the seat. Now I have to leave the bike seat off and I put a bit of crappy cardboard there. She hates it and problem solved. She got locked in the boot overnight the other night( unintentionally of course).Lucky the next morning when leaving for work I needed something from the boot .Scared the crap out of me when she launched herself out of the boot.
