Im pretty sure they are welded in place if your thinking of stealing em..
-
They better not be easy to get off either, I was quoted $700.00 just for the laser cut bottom part for my F6.. And $400.00 for the little top bit...

How much is your car allowance. I have 12K per year, and have managed quite well so far with the F6, but mine is completely standard, and I do around 17-18000km per year. This pays for all costs including fuel, tyres, servising etc. I was a fair bit behind before tax time, but as it is all written off, Im now quite a bit ahead! Next years tax may pay for an edit and tune...

Welcome! Have you taken the rex to the strip, if so wat did it run down the quarter.. And similarly for the F6!

Hey mate, I think they are both nice cars, so drive both and if yu have the extra $ go the T. However, if you are wanting a car for good fuel consumption, and are a little concerned in this department, then a T is not the car for you.

Sorry to hear. that's pretty scary, only like 10 minutes to steal a pretty much brand new car.. Needs to be alarmed and immobilised next time mate. And its a shame about the ford wiring which is so hard for professional alarm installers to tap into. I wanted proximity and tilt sensors on mine (F6), that I could turn off and on by a seperate switch, but no one can help me. I have had rims stolden on my brand new SS when I had it 18s, (first night I brought it home found it on bricks the next morning, had like 20 km on the clock!) and also badges 'fell off' in my driveway, so also wanted proximity sensors for the F6. Its now permanently indoors so I worry a little less now...

Okay, thanks for that info guys. What adjestments do you have your set at for everyday cruising?

Hey guys, anyone had any experiences with the turbo smart http://www.turbosmart.com.au/index.php?id=44 It says it vents back into the exhaust thus is legal, but will it have the pshh sound?? Any help would be great!
-
Well done mate, sounds like you had fun anyway! I dont have the time or the mulla to go racing. Should take it for at least one day though hey.. mmmm..

Kinda hard to have a Typhoon and NOT have Brembos unless you've replaced them with something else on your own accord. Perhaps you're referring to the six pot kits versus the standard 4 pot Brembos? ← I think its a mk 2 bro, so like mine would only have the PBRs..
-
Yeah I aint fully into the sound either hey. But my cuz loves it so ehh.. Just wanting info for him that's all. I heard that they were illegal. Are there any that make the noise but dont vent to ATMO for XRT?
-
Just swap the old for the new mate Chooka ← Thanks Bro!

Hey guys, I DONT want to start a should I shouldnt I thread, I just have a quick question, I have been to the GFB site and checked out some of their BOVs for an XR6T (its for my cuz's XRT not my F6 although may consider it later doen the track-after some performance mods). Does an Xr6 T need to be tuned to run these? I have looked at the GFB Stealth FX as it is a bolt on part.. http://www.gofastbits.com.au/index.php?par...tion=stealth_fx Cheers!

So what did the coppers say when they gave em back to you, where were they found?? More info! Ill join in too, and im in SA!
-
Yeah mate, that was me who was on the other thread saying I got pulled over in my VY SS for having them on (Prob coz im young), but no fine was ever mentioned, he just told me to turn em off. I have since then proceded to ask every road cop I see when I have been pulled over for rbt etc. And they have told me that "I dont really need them on in the city, but for Highway driving, I would leave them on". One im particular officer also said that some police were more on to it than others, but everywhere you look people have them on. Mazdas, fords, audis, holdens etc. I also believe that they arent fog lights and im pretty sure even the fpv manual also says that are 'driving lights'. Can anyone gove me the law for us here in SA? A link or something. Im not a one to drive with them on always, but I do always have them on during H/way driving (which I do quite alot of travelling to my shack every 2nd 3rd wk), and in the rain. I mean, there is really no need for them apart to draw attention to yourself on a nice sunny day.. Anways, yeah any help would be appreciated. I think that this is one of them unknown rules like with TV screens in the rear..

If someone Jacks a car, they obviously aint gonna be granny shifting so they're gonna be ouuta there quick smart. And more than likely at alot more than the speed limits, through red lights etc. So if the car IS shut down at this time, they would probably just not steer (as very hard without p/steer) and crash the damn thing anyway. Whether that be into another car, or over curbs etc. If that happened to my baby and F'd me suspension, rims, and caused fairly hefty body damage to the car, they may as well just keep the thing, scrap it, put it in a river or whatever it is that these ppl get off on. that's what insurance is for. If you may be feeling insecure, and even I do at vertain times around town, lock the doors and drive with your windows up.. A few insurance companies who wouldnt insure me (prob coz of age) for the F6 wanted me to install a tracking system before they would, however couldnt give me the name of who installs em, or what the rough price would be. So they obviously just didnt want my business. Just Car are great for this. But anyways, getting off topic. Just me 2c. But hope it never happens to anyone/ Cheers!

There was a brand new (had 180kms) mk2 f6 typhoon, in silhouette, Leather, Sunroof. For 53,000 at one of my dealers. And that's without screwing em. I know its a mk2 not bf, but its brand new.

The Territory Turbo Ghia that I had for a couple of days had it. It was awsome! But it was a factory fitted piece, quality was great in the LCD screen. Not sure bout after market fitting though..

Very nice ndeed, what mods and what tyres?

Mate I use the F6 as an everyday business car so fuel doesnt sit around for too long at all. But if this is the case, there there will be always some sediment crap in the bottom of the tank, just waiting there to be sucked into our machines.. Id rather not then, and pay the extra like I have been already. I only use Mobil 6 and 8000, usually a mixture, and occasionally all 8000.. Depends on where I need to drive. (and howmuch the liquid gold costs).
-
I heard that there was something about the fuel not being able to last for long in our tanks, this true or just b/sh*t?
-
Sweet ride mate! Top colour too! What type of BOV valves did you go? And Did you have to tune the car for this, or can they be just fitted without any issues? Cheers!

Hey guys, I had my Phoon in for a service with my dealer this week. Firstly, as already stated, the sales dept was great! Apart from taking a while to come up with a manual GT to compare to the man F6. And the Service dept is also good, but am still trying to convince myself of this. My vehicle had some issues which needed to be looked at in the service. Brake squeal (still) Boot light not working (turned out to be a diode facing wrong way from factory). Steering rattle/clicking sound (just lubed up rack and all is good now). Sub Woofer making weird sounds, t. t. t. t, sound instead of bass.. Due to these issues, I was given a complementary car for the day whilst mine was serviced which I thought was a really good gesture. Shows that they do consider us a little. The service was done without too much fuss, used my own oil and cost me $220 for the service ‘A’. So all happy there. What I wasn’t too impressed with was firstly the response I received when I asked how they went with fixing the brakes. They De-glazed the pads and added squeal stopping spray. However, what I was not impressed by was that I was told that the squeal will more than likely come back, and there is not much they can do about it. “It is due to the type of brakes they are”, said my friendly dealer, “and they usually gather up more dust than usual due to the grooves and hence become glazed and squeal.” IMO that’s not really good enough to me. I mean, how many vehicles are sold with grooved/slotted discs, and ‘performance’ (hard as a rock) pads and none that I have heard squeal. Particularly from HSV… mmm.. Could you imagine a Porche dealer telling a customer that their 140 + thousand dollar vehicle will have squealing brakes for the life of the vehicle… I wonder what the response would be.. So yeah, that’s basically it. No fix for that then apart from maybe to “brake harder.” Even though I punished the brakes harder than I have ever punished brakes before min my life on my Mallala Track FPV day, and they still squealed. But anyway… Lastly, I had this issue with my sub. Instead of producing clear bass, its making a t, t, t, type of sound (remind u of the ultra tune commercial?) I was told that this sound was also heard in other prem sound systems and was within normal tolerances ha ha! Heard that one before somewhere on this forum. So they put a lining under the fabric in the boot, which was also rattling, but as soon as I gave my stereo some bass, it was still there.. Are they deaf or ignorant.. Anyways, so again no fix for that. The thing is, is that if I put a decent amp and say 12 in sub, my warranty of the ICC will probably be affected so not sure what to do here.. My mate has a VX Calais, and his sounds a million times better than the prem sound on mine, and that’s pretty sad really.. He only paid like 15K for his… Anyways, sorry for the long post, but now I have the opportunity, thought id say my 2c. Cheers!

Are you 100% sure, please check your manual for us.. I don't think this is the case..
