An alternative to the CBR-Cooma-BB-CBR would be the CBR-Braidwood-BB-Nowra (Kangaroo Valley)-Goulburn-CBR. Happy to get involved if required. Dave C

I'm not sure I'm convinced its fiction. The fact that this forum is 90% focussed on mods, performance and more RWKW would suggest that Ford and FPV have created a huge 'after-market' business for the likes of NIZPRO and others simply because the showroom vehicles just don't cut the mustard for a majority of members of this forum.
-
My question is "what does FPV stand for?" Is it just a name or is it really performance? Take an XR6 Turbo from the Ford factory, inject a NIZPRO Cobra stage 3, upgraded brakes, suspension and may be 18/19 " wheels and what do you get - yes a real PV (Performance Vehicle, approx 450 Flywheel KW, great handling and excellent braking characteristics at a real world price. Now what does FPV have to offer for about the same price?

As a rule of thumb somewhere between 18-22% power loss would be a reasonable estimate.

There are a number of plenums on or about to enter the market such as Nizpro, Process West, Plazmaman, HPF et al, but how do we (the consumer) know which one to buy other than what it looks like. Why is there no technical data available that will assist the consumer decide which one to buy. For the average driver/enthusiast plenum design is but a black art, a 'fancy' piece of kit that channels air from the throttle body into the engine. What data do we need to know? Is the air flow laminar, or turbulent, do we need to understand Bernoulli's Theorem on fluid dynamics, the relationship between pressure, velocity, and elevation in a moving fluid (liquid or gas), the compressibility and viscosity etc etc. For the average punter I would suggest the answer is probably No. So how do we the consumers know which one to buy or is it simply a matter of pay your money and take your chances and hope the tuner is able to meet our expectations I.e more RWKW?

Spruce, on behalf of Dingah and myself (we have the same set-up) the answer is yes: KFFL-57 front and KFRL-68SL rear. Bilstein fronts: B46-1255BA, and Bilstein rear : BE5-62670. Front hub to wheel arch approx 345mm, rear approx 355mm. Hope that helps.

If you had a T I'd offer to sell you my JB Signature cat back system as I have replaced it with an XForce unit to suit my Nizpro Cobra upgrade.

D, Welcome to the Forum and enjoy the ride.

Have had the same noise from brand new (BAII Mar 05, T56) sounds a bit like a coffee grinder in low gear below 2000rpm. Ford is aware of the problem but to date there is no fix. May be Mal Wood might have an explanation for this characteristic.

Mmmmm not much more I can offer except you may want to give Chris at In-line Steering a call on 02 6263 9955 (Queanbeyan, NSW). (He is very highly regarded).

Did you also install the Whiteline heavy duty sway bar linkages? If so make sure they are not making contact with the lower suspension arm. This could be the problem.

Pedders Front Lower Control Arm Bushes
galconn replied to hypnodoc's topic in Suspension and Handling
Understand where you're coming from but my T is my daily driver and it ain't headed for the strip. Had the good fortune of a test drive in a Chris (In-Line Steering) modified Phoon and the rest is history as they say. -
Pedders Front Lower Control Arm Bushes
galconn replied to hypnodoc's topic in Suspension and Handling
Just had a suspension upgrade by Chris at In-Line Steering in Queanbeyan, NSW. Replaced the John Bowe signature springs with King springs, new Bilstein shocks replacing standard Ford units, and a bigger front whiteline sway bar up from 27 to 30mm, (rear already upgraded to 22mm). What a significant difference it has made to the overall performance of the car especially when it is worked on by someone who knows his business and cares about his customers. -
Try everything once, twice if you like it! Touch base if you make it.
-
Jay, would be more than happy to take you for a spin on 26th.
-
Had very similar syptoms. Make sure the rear sway bar linkages are in good condition. I had mine replaced within 12 months of new, and even though they looked ok it was not until they were removed and inspected that the problem was evident - bushes were *&^%$#. New ones fitted under warranty.

G'day Brian, Look forward to meeting another senior driver at the CV Dyno day in a couple of weeks. Do you have the street address for the event? -
Agree with the last sentence, plenty of zoos around, but finding competent and knowledgeable wheel aligners/suspension specialists is akin to finding good tuners -they are extremely hard to find.

Just a civvy from Navy office but did parts 1 & 2 at HMS Dolphin in mid 80's. Did a lot of pre-refit and Mid-cycle assessments plus, plus. Moved out of the 'O's in early 90's but still have a close connection with submariners via the Heavyweight Torpedo Project, that was until a couple of years ago. And you?

Hey Jasper, I like your avatar but is it Orion or Otama? Galconn

Which Is The Best Gearbox Available For The T
galconn replied to boost_ute's topic in Driveline Workshop
I've recently had the Nizpro Cobra Stage 3 upgrade delivering 400rwkw, so I hope my T56 doesn't sh*t itself. Mind you, like bcl and Dingah, I have many years of experience behind me and treat my machine with the respect it deserves. Agree with bcl, for city driving an auto would be first choice, but living in the ACT its the manual box for me.
