although pure blonde is a low carb beer, and may help somewhat, unfortunately for drinkers the main weight causing issue is the alcohol itself. Alcohol in itself accounts for a lot of calories. Even a shot of bourbon/rum/whiskey has a lot of calories. When I trained seriously, I didn't touch a drop of alcohol for 1.5 years. And the weight loss that can be achieved is amazing. I've recently started training again, so the drinking is gonna have to be cut down a bit.. Pure blonde is a good drop though, and I don't mind it at all

I'm a VB man.. but I also drink my own home brew, which is pretty good. I'm not fussy when it comes to beer, I'll drink just about any type. Some of my mates are dead set carlton draught drinkers, and swear that VB tastes like sh*t.. funny thing is, when I go up for a shout I buy them VB, and they can't even tell the difference When it comes to spirits, I'm the ambidextrous of the drinking world, I'll drink rum & bourbon and often swap around between drinks.

I used to pay around $40 per 5L, but now I use edge, and it's closer to $70 per bottle. It's changed every 5000-7500km. Mind you, the way I'm going, I only do about 10000km per year, so I don't mind RUS531.. have a check of your owners manual and service guide, I think you'll find that ford suggest oil changes for the T at 7500km, so a change of oil between services. I'd probably make sure you do those changes, or else goodbye warranty

lucky for me Simon supplied the cooler thermostat as part of his tuning for my car and mods I had so it didn't really cost me anything. Cheers Simon

that's so true mate, anything can be made to go fast. for the people who "feel" great about chopping a 200k car... how do you think the guy in the 180b with 15k spent on the motor feels when he chops a T??? sure he probably brags his ass off, but would you care? seriously, I know I'd rather be driving a 200k+ car then a T if it was affordable. Don't get me wrong, I love the T.. but don't go thinking people in M5s, or even 500k cars really worry or a give a rats ass that a 45k car beat them.. at the end of the day, they're the ones with the expensive car. Who really cares My mate used to own a dato 1600 that would give most mildly modded Ts a run.. but I know what I'd rather drive.. the T.. just cause a cheaper car flogs them, doesn't mean they feel embarrassed or ashamed of owning a 200k car.

I agree, I got myself into trouble when I first had 300rwkw I wish I the chance for a few days experience.. then again, at the end of the day, no matter how experienced some one is, a public road is still a public road and it has an unlimited number of variables. Mind you, it probably would have helped me.. I guess we learn from our mistakes

yeah, why not??? I reckon it would be great fun, and a great experience. I'd love to have a crack at doing that in my car. It would certainly open my eyes to the potential and power of my car.

dude, I don't claim to know what's going on I'm confused. All I'm reporting is the experience I've got from my car. If it doesn't help make the car run cooler, then what does?? the tuning? until I installed the thermostat I had the thermo fans on 24/7 as soon as the car hit 1/4 on the temp gauge. Since the thermostat was installed I hardly ever hear the thermo fans come on. I'm just reporting what goes on with my car.. as I said, I really don't know the mechanicals of the situation.. but that's what's doing with my car, sorry

never really thought about "optimum" driving temps.. surely a tad over a quarter is warm enough? Mind you, giving it a squirt up the clyde mountain saw the temps rise closer to half, but still sit about half way between 1/4-1/2.

on 30-35deg days, and with the odd squirt my temp gauge will still sit around a 1/4.. perhaps a tad over. Rarely does it creep too close to the middle like it used to. In fact, prior to edit and cooler thermostat, my car would often sit right under half, and when turning it off it would go well over, then have to cool down again. I've only seen that happen once since fitting the cooler thermostat, and it was only marginally over. It must help some what

if a person can't afford insurance (and I'm not being specific to anyone here), what's the logic behind owning the car? if 2k is too much of a strain on some ones bank account, then how the f*ck can they pay off a T, run it, feed themselves etc etc.. Fair enough a lot of young blokes still live at home which makes it a lot easier, but still, if 2k per year is a big stretch of the budget, then I'd strongly disagree with anyone buying a performance car. Surely it's living outside of what they can afford. Or is my logic just whacked

as others have said, an exhaust without edit won't do much for performance. I'd keep it cheap and simple and chop the centre muffler. You'll get a deeper note, and it'll be cheap and not affect performance.

they're fine with mods mate. Had no problems insuring me for all my mods, and even agreed to insure the car for what I wanted. Unlike JC who were gonna smack me with $2150 and insure the car for 26k Only complaint is, some times they're a little slow in getting the quote to you.. I didn't mind making a few extra calls to save $700 though. And yep, to the original poster.. $2140 is a great quote for your age. It ain't gonna get any cheaper.. unless ryno insure you, but I'm not sure that they will. Perhaps you can try listing yourself as a driver with them?? and have it in your dads name?

try ryno insurance.. I'm with them and I'm 24, paying $1460, with $1100 excess. JCI wanted $2150 and a $2500 excess. My fiancee's brother is 22 and has a VU SS, and he rang ryno and they insured him for $1200 Cheaper then me.. mind you, my car is modded etc. Previous to ryno, he'd never had insurance in his own name.. I didn't think they'd insure him, but they did

$2140 for an 18yr old P plater??? take it and run dude... I was paying $2150 with just cars and I'll be 25 this month!! I had full NCB and everything! I've since gone with ryno and I'm paying around $1400.. I hate to say it mate, but if you can't afford $2150 for insurance, then I don't see how you can afford to actually own, run and keep a T on the road. They're not cheap cars to keep mate. Unless you've got a solid paying job week in week out, or help from your parents, then I dunno how the hell you plan on keeping the thing on the road, especially if it's your daily driver Good luck with it though

I couldn't agree more with what dingah has said. I too went down the modding path, and chopped and changed ideas many times, before settling on what I have now. Unfortunately, I want a little more, but that means a new gearbox will also be needed.. which I don't wanna do at this stage. If I plan on keeping this car another 5yrs I'll do the gearbox, actuator and valve springs, then settle on that.. but at this stage I'm gonna sell the car within two years, so what I have is enough. Don't rush into anything mate, sit back, and have a read of all the posts members have made about their modding. I got a CAI installed for $500 when I didn't know bugger all about mods I learnt the hard way there! Then I deciced to get edit, and paid for the flash tuner plus custom tuning... then a few months decided I wanted more yet again, another money spending exercise. On my next car, there'll be no mucking around.. it'll be straight to a kit of some kind, spend once, and get it all done. Even if it means holding off on mods for a few months until you have ALL the money to do it all at once.. I'd be doing that. Good luck

as I said, in conjunction with edit, and the way it is tuned, the cooler thermostat has helped. Let me explain my situation... I had a mail order tune from XFT, previously, Simon supplied a tune to be installed and "touched" up by Chris from blue power when he was in canberra. This resulted in 250rwkw. Not long after, I decided I wanted more power, so I sent my box back to Simon, and he put in a 300rwkw tune for me. I added bigger injectors, fuel pump, intercooler and cat. Anyways, Simon thought that a cooler thermostat was fitted to my car when he supplied the tune.. but, one was never fitted. Hence, I'd drive around, and even in the middle of winter the thermo fans would come on at 1/4 temp and stay on for the rest of the journey (temp gauge still reached halfway).. this was somewhat concerning so I called Simon and spoke to him, and it was quickly agreed that Chris mustn't have fitted the cooler thermostat on his visit. And Simon had tuned the car to factor this in. Once the cooler thermostat was fitted the thermo fans have been on once or twice, when the outside temp was hot and the car had been turned off for a few mins.. or in spirited driving. Otherwise, in conjunction with edit and the cooler thermostat my car hasn't been near 1/2 way. Hope this clears it up a bit.

mine sits just over 1/4 in the middle of summer.. occasionally it got close to the middle on really hot days, stuck in traffic with spirited driving. I have a cooler thermostat though, in conjunction with edit etc etc
