  1. Well done. A good result I'm keen to hear what mods it's got.
  2. Injectors, fuel pump, bigger cat and tune should comfortably give you around 300rwkw. As for trans longevity, it should cope quite ok.
  3. Oranges V Grapes. edit.. bah humbug. ← Avalanche, X5, blah, blah, blah.....none have any appeal to me. I simply drove past the dealer, saw one, drove it, then drove of in the F6 smiling. Not my cup of tea and cannot see what the hype is about. Each to their own tastes.
  4. Neither does the "my new SS-V with $13k worth of turbo mods will be quicker than your stock F6 auto at the same cost" take long to come about in the other forums Stock for stock, I think GM/HSV are going to have a hard time knocking off the F6 A6 from a performance perspective.
  5. Drove one today, Ghia Turbo. To sum up, pretty disappointing compared to the BF F6 auto. I guess if I was into SUV's it would have some appeal. Wouldn't rush out to buy one though at this stage.
  6. No, that's not true. Schnitzer modify them in the BMW's they do up. I rang CAPA today to follow up on the 6-speed auto support for the SCT software. They inform me SCT are working on the transmission support atm and will release the update when they come over here. Key is though, there's no indication when that will be at this stage There are however limited functions in the existing software to enable the trans to cope with the higher torque outputs. Also, I spoke to my trans builder today (he runs a large transmission repair shop in the nothern suburbs in Perth with quite a few knowledgeable trans rebuilders working for him), he's done a heap of the 5 speed auto ZF's in the european cars he services. He's quite confident they are capable of handling some decent power. He attending a transmission association conference next month, and will have more info on the ZF trans for the Falcon. Apparently my car now has an appointment with him in September
  7. I don't think I've ever seen a stock LS2 Clubsport of Maloo run quicker than a 14 second at the Motorplex. Ever! With the extra weight of the VE, I doubt it will be quicker than the VZ......however, maybe, just maybe, the 6 speed auto in the VE will be it's saving grace.
  8. Amen brother I know I'll be circling Phoenix Expensive Daewoo waiting for the first one to leave the salesyard

19X8.5 ROH custom wheels with 265/30 was the biggest I could fit on the front of the XR.
  10. Here's some interesting reading about upgrading turbos. It explains how 1 turbo can make more power than the other running the same boost. Taken off LS1.com.au of all places where I hang out with my 5 mates This kind of stuff makes me laugh at cars running 20+ psi on the stock turbo. "Ah the boost pressure to power ratio question again... FST57L did a good job of explaining it. Basically mass flow rate and hence volumetric efficiency are improved with larger/better turbo chargers… Boost equal. 10psi is not 10psi in mass flow rate terms. Looking at one element such as boost pressure is not looking at the whole picture. Boost pressure is the force applied to the walls at a tangent to the flow of the air mass; it isn't a direct measure of mass flow. It can be a variable in it, but it’s not the factor by which mass flow rate is judged- it is only one part. What is a hard concept for some is the affect of a turbocharger on the engine system. You need to understand that volumetric flow rates increase with larger turbo chargers and forget the pressure ratios they run at. It’s to do with increased volumetric efficiency of the turbine section and housing plus the interaction of exhaust backpressure to intake boost pressure. The By far the single biggest effect of the larger turbo is reduced back pressure to intake pressure ratio and lowering of exhaust manifold pressure. This combined with other factors including increased engine operating speed all lead to greater mass flow rates at equivalent 'boost' pressure ratios hence you have more power with a better/bigger turbo(s)."
  11. You have any idea where the wreck went Muzza?
  12. The 968s (EV6 style right?) are bandied about the place as a direct, OEM style fit which says to me that they're swap in, swap out no mods required. Are the Siemens one's you're talking about the same? Sorry if it's a dumb question, I'm still looking at what injectors I want to use for the future (only intend buying ONE set), but they have to be swap in, swap out with the OEM unit, no mods required. ← You read correct. They are a direct replacement. No modifications required. The only thing you'll need done is the injector rescaling in the PCM via SCT edit.
  13. Octane......at least my mates wont be ringing or sms'ing me if you crash this one! Good luck with the new car when it arrives.
  14. This post says they garantee flow, not atomisation. http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...ndpost&p=410379 In this day and age of tuning, why compromise when an oem injector will do the job better. I'm sure the drilled injectors had there place prior to SCT tuning for the exact reason you state "The other advantage is the electronic's are stock so there is less to figure out in Edit - you just have to figure out the high and low slope numbers which is relatively easy.." but it's still hit and miss from injector batch to injector batch. I've no problems with the consistancy of 968's etc for injector scaling, but am just too lazy to waste my time mucking around with a set of injectors that is different to the next. Oh yeah, just to clarify, I'm not having a "spray" at Nizpro's products or injectors either. My opinion is the same for any modified injector. The Siemens injector are a simple install, as they are the same as the Bosch EV6 style, with the same plug. Cost around $660 plus freight. I've seen 1 set of the Bosch 750cc injectors on Ebay, and other elsewhere. Forget for the life of me what the part number is though
  15. The APS pump can't draw enough fuel through the factory pump. My recommendations: Forget drilled injectors. Buy some genuine Bosch 750cc or Siemens 600-750cc injectors for around the same price as the modified factory units. Spray pattern and fuel atomisation are garanteed with these injectors, unlike modified ones. Install a Walbro intank GSS-294. This should do for over 400rwkw. If you really want a bullet proof fuel sytem, install a swirl pot, and have the intank pump feed the swirl pot. Have the APS pump draw fuel from the swirl pot. You might also want to modify the factory wiring for the fuel pump so that it draws power direct from the altenator via a relay system. Any auto electrician should be able to help you with that. Change the fuel pressure regulator with a SARD or Bosch motorsport adjustable rising rate unit. Fit a fuel pressure gauge to setup your fuel pressure, and monitor it when your dynoing the car. You'll soon find out how your fuel system is coping with your new found power Jason.
  16. Dunno yet, I've seen over 320rwkw and 800nm so far and still hanging on. Schnitzer modify BMW's with the ZF 6HP26 trans, some pushing over 500rwhp with the stock trans. Not really much word on trans failures yet, which may be a good thing.
  17. Good upgrade if your contemplating making more power at a lower level of boost. Those that understand turbocharging principles would know why this is a worthwhile modification. I'm considering the compressor side upgrade and machining the exhaust housing wastegate with the installation of a larger swing valve.
  18. Good ad, but I tend to agree with your comment. Aiming a little high with it's 245kw output.

BA 1.1mm, BF 0.9mm Try new plugs @ 0.7 - 0.8mm gap and see what happens. You might want to have it run up on a dyno and check fuel mixtures and boost levels. It's not the traction control invoking is it? *edit* just read you installed new plugs.
  20. Another option is the Siemens Deka injector. Rated at 610cc per minute, or 60lb/hr. High impendance injector. I have them in my car to replace the Bosch 968's I had. High quality VDO Siemens item. Injectors meet ISO/SAE standards thus ensuring flow standards. $110 ea outright, available from injectors online.

It could be a myriad of problems. Is the car stock? What are the plug gap set at? It may be a fuelling issue, may also be an overboost problem. More details would be useful in troubleshooting your problem.
