Guys, A friend of mine has a little problem with a BA ute. Was originally a T5 5 speed that was converted to T56 6 speed in the usual fashion, which has now been swapped to a BTR 4 speed auto. The factory auto loom was already in the car from factory (which I found strange??) and all plugs are where they should be. He is running the factory manual ECU & BEM to suit, so car starts & runs but is stuck in Limp Mode… Has tried flashing a factory 4 speed tune in using HP Tuners software to no avail, and have also had it in at Ford to have a 4 speed base map flashed in by them with no luck. Anyone here successfully gone from manual to auto? If so, how did you get the auto to function properly & did you use the manual ecu or put an auto ecu in?? He has an auto ecu available to him, but this would require the ecu & his current bcm to be synced by Ford. To do this, he requires 2 coded keys which he doesn't have (only has one set as he lost the spare) & at a cost of ~$400 he doesn't really want to buy a second set to find out they can’t help with his current problem. Have been led to believe that a Scan Tool may read some useful codes that could point me in the right direction, anyone in WA have access to one?? Any help would be great. Cheers
