  1. I was weighing up these 2 turbos aswell, so I asked my tuner about it (I'm no expert) and he told me that he's had cars with basicly identical setups, the difference being the turbo (gtx42 vs precision) and on the drag strip, the Garret wouldn't come on boost untill the car had left the line, whereas the the precision could build about 10psi on the stall. He only ever uses precisions on his cars now
  2. It's up to you, but it is worth it. A good quality intercooler will drastically reduce heatsoak, so it will pull the same power figures consecutively instead of losing power the hotter it gets. I was amazed at the difference when I changed mine
  3. get rid of the ebay cooler and grab a legit nizpro/plazmaman/process west cooler and you will be in the 300s easy
  4. a few shots from a photoshoot with a mate
  5. The Fever f6 will be sold at some point. probably not for a little while though yeah the quads...one of the things I will change on the car. might go a full custom exhaust
  6. yeah, simon tuned it. I went and spoke to him about it before I bought it. apparently his folks wanted to buy it 6 months ago, but previous owner wasnt selling.
  7. bought it with the mods :sungum: yeah mate, I will be selling it at some point. will be fixing up a couple of things on it first though. haha yes I believe that is correct...that name definately fits the previous owner
  8. haha yeah, definately a rare colour. Im pretty sure mine is the only one still getting around in WA
  9. keep your babies away from that turbo, that thing will eat them from 10 feet away.
  10. I picked it up for 35500. as far as im concerned, its the bargain of the century. specially considering its only done 38 thousand kms.
  11. So I managed to score this immaculate R spec! I already have a BF mk2, as some of you might know, the infamous Gold one (0347, deans old car as everyone who sees it always reminds me), but I've always wanted a white R Spec. dont know what it is about white ones, but they just do it for me. So when this one popped up, I wasnt going to let it get away from me. One of my mates was the one who noticed it for sale and told me about it straight away (for which I will always be grateful), when I spoke to the owner, he had already had someone up for it, but the lads finance fell through. I was second viewer, and as soon as I saw it, I knew I was going to buy it. Lucky for me, because that day he had 2 other blokes coming to look at it after me, no doubt either of them would have bought it straight away also. Definately a happy man right now. the car is in immaculate condition, not a single scratch or mark on it. I had my old man with me when I test drove it, and apparently he was the very first person to sit on the back seat of the car. its been meticulously looked after, and it shows. SO: R spec build number 284 1000cc injectors Bosch 044 fuel pump process west plenum process west cooler plazmaman intake with oddyssey dry cell turbosmart BOV nizpro valve springs Xforce exhaust (one of the few things I will change) ZF Tune Future mods: switch my defi gauges from my other car change exhaust few cosmetic bits and pieces, like colour coding engine bay. have a built engine sitting on a stand in my shed, not sure if I will use it now......hard call. pics:
  12. this is similar to what I have. basicly ive tried every cleaning/protectant product I can think of, and it sort of helps marginally, untill it dries out and it comes back again. Weird thing is, in some places you can scratch it with your fingernail and the top coat comes off. but no amount of wiping with products removes it.
  13. As I said before I was weighing my options for a new engine...and got hit with a stroke of luck. A cousin of mine decided to sell his engine that he had built a while back, as he has a baby on the way. So I bought it. It was built to handle 1000hp, so its definately good for what I want it for. It came with a GT42R turbo, that im not sure if I will use or not - thinking of selling it and going for a Precision turbo instead. Also already has 6 boost manifold. only thing it doesnt already have is a strong head gasket, it still has the stock one. But I have a Cometic headgasket on the way already. cant wait to get it in an running. pics below
  14. I run ku31s on my car, they grip very well. they last forever aswell, ive run them down at the drags, doing pretty hard burnouts, no traction problems whatsoever. my last 2 rears I only changed because I had a bolt go through one of them, and they had 10,000 ks on them, including 2 trips to the drags, plus a fair bit of brutal treatment on the street, and they still had about 50% tread left. been thinking of trying the Federal 595 evos, supposed to be decent aswell
