A Village Somewhere Is Missing Its Idiot...
Antisocial replied to hammer007's topic in Ford Discussion
Could be the same w@nker I saw last week in the carpark at the Canberra Hospital. Tried to park, crunched the bull bar of his mitsubishi van into the passengers door mirror of an AU with nice big wheels, put into reverse and drove off. :nugget: I wrote down his rego & time details etc and stuck it under the dudes windscreen wiper. Why the hell do these people have to live in Canberra? I am lucky and careful, park next to a wall (reduce chance of encounter with w@anker by 50%) and have had my T 7 months/18,000ks and no dents yet. -
Straying from the topic again ... But Sliverhawk obviously slept through the ...rainbow coloured wheel that was spun at high speed and became white, science lesson in primary school... or you would know that white is in fact all colours! Poor colour blind HaaG My white XR6T will do no more than 225km/h, ...Id imagine.

Not realy what you meant was it plonky?? :D

Ok, I'm glad I am not the only one....although I have "let rip" once or twice, but do actually try to avoid it.......that is kinda sad. :nugget: Just visiting Wagga for work every few months... As an aside.. ..a warning for people who live in Canberra and frequent Bunnings in Tuggeranong. Do not park there after 4pm weekdays!!! I was parked in a far off spot the other day but talking on the phone, durring the course of a brief 10min phone call no less than 3 learner drivers came and used my T for parctice parking... Then an incredibly large person in an old XF pulled up beside me tried to open thier door enough to get out. Saw my face frowning a "dont even think about it" type stare shut her door and drove off.. An incredibly distressing time I will not soon forget. So you have been warned stay away, I tell you!

Has any one else lost weight or noticed an increase in general health and fitness since taking delivery of their new XR6T? Ignoring the euphoric KEN type state most people attain from the week before to the month after delivery of your XR6T, which in most well adjusted non-colour compulsive type people simply subsides into a permanent silly grin. I mean quantifiably physicalogical change, for example Better diet, ..as I use my car for work and spend an inordinately large amount of time driving about the place I used to eat a lot of junk food and McCrap in the car...lost count of the number of times the centre console of my non drink holder equipped company VS Dunnydore (I had no say in it OK! ) was drowned in coke as I stopped in a hurry. This is my 3rd new car in 6 years and I still ate lunch in my $50,000 Pajero, but all this has ceased when I got the nice leather interior in the XR, no food has been consumed whilst even sitting in the car, let alone in motion. No more twisties and choc coated ice cream bits falling to the floor as I hurtle from here to Wagga. I stop at proper restaurants with seats and everything and sit down with other adults and eat my food slowly rather than, shoving it down between lane changes... Then there is all the extra XR induced walking... I now park, what feels like 4 kilometres from any other cars in any car park, way over in a corner far away from the mums and their car door thumping prams etc then walk for miles to get to the shops. And even though I park way off over the horizon away from any other cars, when I come back there is usually 2 or 3 like minded individuals with XR's or a 200SX, BMW, HSV or WRX parked next to me, as if hiding from all the other less sensitive car 'users'. …My wife tells me I am too poor to be eccentric and that I am just weird, can that be true?

Very funny, I taped it and watched it last night. ...I actually saw them filming it.. A few months ago as I was comming home past the Gull servo in Hume I saw a Phantom XR and a film crew, I thought they were just recording a commercial or something but it was actually the scene with the roo. I think they only had a Turbo and just pretended to wind down the window, either that or the window winder handle is about 20cm long.

Mine has 17,000ks and it is still doing it, ........ aparently it is the rough edges on the casting. I will have to get it fixed at the 30,000 service if there is any belt left, :D or at the next disk machining visit.

Anybody else get million itty bitty little bits of rubber off the serpentine belt on the front of the engine, comming off all over everything under the bonnet?

Nope... Mine work fine, perhaps they are not fitted correctly.

Yes mud Spats are all well and good untill you get a bit of that Meguiars wet look pollish type stuff on them, then its an entirely different story..... As they look all grey and crappy (a bit like Mercury silver cars do all over.. I want to see if I can start a testosterone filled battle to make the Auto/Manual debate look tame...I can see it now, coloured gang wars). But seriously, does anyone know the best way to get pollish off them? -
Sorry, I knew about it too.... I thought every one knew. Had it in my diary for months. I think I heard about it on 104.7 .... or on TV.... or was it the Canberra Tickford FPV club website???? Next time I will tell you all I promise. It was a good day. Just so you cant say I didnt tell you there is an American car show on at the QBN show ground in September... Sun the 28th I think.

Yeah I mentioned this before.. I am sure my T went noticably harder after the 10,000k mark, everybody thought I was imagining things, :( or that it was just the motor wearing in or freeing up. But I am convinced there is some sort of ECU software change that allows it to go harder....no ...really trully.

It is a special feature that allows the Dunnydoore to make a much louder CLUNK when the doors are locked, than other cars.

The best is of course, The Aussie movie Midnite Spares. The final car chase has the Good Guy in a 'XA/XB Coupe after the bad Guy in his P76 Executive.

What is wrong with you people...the correct answere were: A . Cameron Diaz B . Katie Holmes C . Demi Moore D . Milla Jovovich Other acceptable answers may have been Jenifer Lopez and Neve Campbell. Mmmmm

Poor KEN. So obsessed with his new possesion ...... :nugget: He did not stop to smell the roses nor to notice it had the name of a outwegeous fwench accent type person emblasoned on the pasengers door, as can clearly be seen in pic #6. ...shame. :(

Yesterday I took my car to 5ks remaining and then could only put in 60lt so it still had almost 80ks left. I have a work mate who's Dunnydoore had a faulty fuel sender so it would run out of fuel with 200ks remaining on the trip computer, replaced the fuel sender and all was well. Perhaps this is a similar thing. The had a separate sensor for the "Guy with a finger in his ear light" than for the fuel gauge. So if the fuel sender packed it in the gauge would stop but the low fuel light would still come on. Wonder if the BA is the same?

I could be wrong (happened once before) ..but my dealer talked me out of the alarm. Said it was low rent, and only connected to the door switches. It has no ultrasonic or shock sensors, so a crook could just smash a window grab stuff from the car and run, without the alarm going off. Was I misinformed, it is not often you get talked out of spending money, although same salesman also talked me out of spending the extra on premunm brakes...

No respect, Fullstop. And in answer to your question Ken, in summer when the temp here got to the low 40's the A/C could cope. Not a huge amount of freezy cold air bit it stoped me from getting hot. I am not a big fan of A/C, I prefer fresh air. But in the summer in the XR the air coming ot of the vents is always a bit warm, as if the heater is still on a little bit. So I always had to have the A/C on. By the way dont go poking arround under the dash to check when the car is running the hot water always flows thru the rubber hoses and will burn the crap out of you if you bump them, I still have the scars to proove it. :( I think the hot water always flows and the trapdoor opens or closes to let the air flow thur the heater.. I think this has been discussed before have a search... some people were comlpaining about lack of airflow or the like...

"I fitted a Brembo caliper on a 330mm rotor" How much could one expect to pay for such a procedure?
