Urgent: Audiocontrol Lc2I Issue
cheers guys. sorry for the abrupt post before.... you see, the car is going over the pits tomorrow so yeah, needed things tidied up. for now, I have a generic line converter in place, not doing a terrible job. I just hope the seat doesn't get folded down, and that the amp being always on doesn't drain the battery. (shouldn't, as it isn't 'working' so shouldn't draw huge current, perhaps only just the LED light) the LC2i can spit out a remote trigger, without having one input to itself. it constantly draws a small amount of power, and upon receiving speaker signal, it powers up and spits out the trigger for the amps. first thing I checked was stray wires, but nothing of the sorts. I always try keep this stuff tidy. the trigger is always on, and the unit never powers up. I purchased it online, 2nd hand, so warranty is a no go. to clarify, it was new, un opened, and working before installed. ground for amp is to the seat mounting bolts. seems quite good. power for amp is run straight from the fuse box (where the battery is connected) and has one 80A fuse shortly after. the LC2i is powered and grounded in the amp's power and ground terminals. both wires are the same size for the amp (4ag) both wires are the same for the LC2i might have to crack it open, and have a look....

Urgent: Audiocontrol Lc2I Issue
hey guys, just finished a good part of my stereo install (rear tweeters and sub yet to be done) and all was working fine. sound was good with car not running, and car running too. roughly the 3rd time I turned the car on (after first drive) I had a pop through the speakers (like a polarity test tone) and then could hear a light alternator whine. after driving for a few minutes there was another small pop, and then the sound cut out. leaving a louder alternator whine. (reading below, seeing that the LC2i has failed, I think this was fairly effectively filtering the alternator whine) being that I was driving, I simply turned the stereo off, and continued on my way for about 5 minutes. when I stopped, there was a light electrical smell, and even a small amount of smoke. pulled the power/ground/remote out, off of the LC2i and this powers it and the amp down. from what I am now seeing, the LC2i will not get a 'power' light come on, but always has the 'maximized' light orange. it also appears to always spit out a 12V+ down the 'remote out' line, as the amp powers up, even without the stereo being turned on (which should wake up the LC2i and emit a 12V+) I think my LC2i is the problem, as it is not behaving as it should. it uses the same power and ground as the amp, and is not having any dramas. im going to try and bypass the LC2i and run high level inputs, and see how that goes. just to see if the problem does indeed lie in the LC2i. has any one had similar problems, or know where to start?

I've basically found the article that says "lights applied for cosmetic reasons can not flash, shine on chrome like surfaces, or be visible at the source" Colour is not mentioned. Either way. My problem, not everyone else's, so ill bite my tongue til its dealt with. Still had a nice run after catching the group by shortcuting the map, and going against the flow. Also forgot to mention, schlambed was painting lines, even without spinning up. Looked tops.

that's fine, I understand if I get stickered for something illegal.... but I've found the words I need in written form, confirming that my current vehicle defect notice, is wrong. if the kind police man said "you did a dardy skid back there, son" to any one of you, that'd be something to cop on the chin, if you did it. but you'd be a bit ticked off if you knew you hadn't and had to cop it anyway. what is accepted by the majority, is not always what is right. and people coping it sweet every time only encourages the behaviour of our so incredible inept police force.

What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
maybe that would be fine... but P100 contains 10% ethanol, which need substantially more fuel per volume of air, than regular fuel. ie, you wont have enough fuel in the cylinder. standard tunes cant adapt, and are much further from limits, but once tuned, your car knows what it wants...

yep, a little blue death ray warrants starting up the disco party, spinning a u turn, parking in a green lane light, turning from a straight ahead lane, and stopping me on a busy two lane road, against an Armco, with no emergency stopping lane.... now, what's dangerous here. hmmmm (ps, these new LED lights the cops run are simply TOO bright. everyone comments on them, and they truly do blind drivers, had to adjust my mirrors when pulled up) basically, I've been told "you can't have any light except white facing forwards" 1) my understading is, you can't have white to the rear, or red to the front. 2) the light, as the rules stand (and I will be getting literature to back this up) is not facing forwards. you can not see the light bar from the front (unlike headlights for instance). ergo, the light faces backwards. will be having a chat with this officers senior should I find the written law backs up what I have been told on previous occasions, when other police have pulled me up to check this, and ok'd me to drive off. here is the baby killing, seal clubbing, cute kitty cat eating, mother with pram charging, death ray, the nice *beep*-stable saved the world from.

Venting The Stock Bov
I'm pretty sure the vacuum line is opposite the vent side. so that looks correct to me. (at least it matches my oem set up, which vents just fine when the plumback line is removed)

Fg F6 Manual Launch Control
so many lolz.... you wont launch faster without it, than someone who can use it right. TC off. NOT full throttle, only slightly more than is needed to get it to the 3500rpm 2-step. the spark is being cut, sending raw fuel to the turbo where it ignites and spools it harder than you would get at a regular 3500rpm throttle, in neutral. ride the cluch out, and feed the throttle in, smoothy, and quickly. keep the wheel spin in check but get it to wide open throttle, with the clutch out asap. remember, these cars have peak torque from around 2300rpm, so no need to ride it to redline. snap 2nd and away you go. the rpm cut works in any gear, when 'stationary' (more like under 4-6km/h) but is designed for first, and launching in higher gears isn't going to help. ever.

Warranty Thuds, Clunks, Creeks And Vibration Getting Fixed
ford driveline. it sucks. mine has so much lash its not funny. if I shut the throttle hard, I put the clutch in at the same time, then ease the clutch out. if not, it sounds like something is going to break. might try a new shop soon, and see if they are more helpful.

What Made You Feel Good Today
had a parcel arrive today. it was bought on gumtree, interstate, and I payed the guy $80 (asking $50) straight into his account, for him to post it. the fact that it arrived at all, restores some faith in humanity for me.

What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
mines still tight like a teen, at 50xxxkms pulled the driver side rear door trim off, then put it on, then pulled it off, then put it on.... in the mean time, got a speaker spacer made for both rear doors. install time is so very close.

certainly saw hexr6t and cop it there. I don't stand out much. HIDs, blue lit cooler, white honey combs, and that's about it. (though strangely, was enough to turn quite a few cameras, go figure) best plates of the night had to go to [bRZEK] on a Subaru BRZ (think I got the spelling right)

gotchya. not at all the only spastic of the night... just the one who has to live with their decisions for quite some time. plenty of people behaving the same way, no doubt. while waiting to go through the Hepburn ave roundabout on westcoast hwy, facing north, traffic queued behind me for miles, some knob jockey decided to head back down westcoast the other way, and leaving the roundabout, I heard him redlining 3rd, before going for 4th. that right next to hundreds of cars. passengers getting out of cars (it was literally stopped) on a single lane, 50(?) zone. looks like the group has been removed from FB, presumably to stop people talking, but I'd be amazed if thiss gets swept under the rug. anyway. enough from me...

^looks like Hillarys carpark. I didn't go in there, as you could see the carry on before you even got a chance to get in. moved on to Kelmscott, and while there was a select few skidding as they left the car park there, it was MUCH more sedate. ps, what was that spastic comment aimed at?

last report has that person as critical and taken to hospital. rumours had the taxi rear ending the hatch into traffic. 180 on wrong side of road (backed up by damage to hatch's left side) says otherwise. was a MASSIVE turnout, and all started quite well. meet points were full of people needing to show off. I was lucky enough to be near a good bunch of people when on the road. clearly, that wasn't the case for everyone. had a nice drive home with an R34 and a yellow B series F6. also spotted MISSM4LOO. goes without saying, but dayum.... a real pity this cruise didn't work... going to skip tomorrow's run. not really in the mood now.
