Agreed. I have recently come out of an annoying rotator cuff injury period because I neglected both it and my shoulders. I thought just because I was gaining good definition in my shoulders & delts I didn't need to target them let alone rotator cuff & paid dearly. Been smashing them lately & it seems to all but have solved my rotator cuff issues and at the same time increased my bench!!

Agreed. People will usually always buy what brand they are loyal to. As a long time Expensive Daewoo fan(don't worry, I'm getting a ba turbo very shortly!), they do have an extra ace up their sleeve if buyers want to chase power. You can get walkinshaw performance to strap on superchargers, suspension, exhaust etc and its all covered under factory warranty & warranty by walkinshaw. Not sure if ford has any similar tuning arms, but if a die hard Expensive Daewoo fan wanted a hsv but wanted a supercharged engine without voiding warranty, the option is there. But agreed with the power levels, sure cars are getting safer but it's a bit bizarre that they are allowed to up the power levels as well - I'd think one would negate the other and it's no different to back in the day IMO.

Yeah im pretty much in the same boat, mines my right from an old cricket injury. I got to a point a few months ago that I couldnt do pretty much any chest exercise for pain & loss of strength. I have been focusing on real shoulder-centric exercises to try and get rid of it, it seems to be working with only mild pain & discomfort now. I can put up with that as long as it means I can still lift heavy, I have been making far too good gains to have surgery & be out of action for months.

Nope, I believe they are using the Nissan Altima. Wouldn't matter even if they did use the gtr - under car of the future rules they would still have to use the same control chassis & v8 engine. If anything it would look bloody retarded because it would be a stretched out 2 door.

Apparently it's the sponsors that aren't letting them. Djr wanted to do the jim beam car but they wouldn't let them. And really, look at the press the cars that have changed are getting, I would think that works well for the sponsors!!

Great info! I hopefully get mine on sat, it seems like its had a lot of those areas attended to which eases my mind a bit! Had coil packs, tps, brakes & heavy duty clutch already done. I know it's a t5z, but I'm not going chasing power so it should be sufficient.... Touch wood...

What about all commodores since VT Series 2? They are all running chev engines, so what are they? Expensive Daewoo or Chev? You can go on and on about "its not a BA" etc etc, but to me it looks like a BA and was originally a BA so its a BA. Its not as if its a funny car with a custom chassis & fibreglass body - it still has all the underpinnings of a factory car. Awesome job on the 8 - thatd be bloody fun!!

What did they offer jim beam? The greens tuff? Really, it makes better sense to do it because people are going to take more notice of the retro livery & thus the advertising.

Itd probably be easier due to the fact that the pipes are in more sections so you just join them where they need to be. Just means you may need a few extra brews

Spot on, every V8 supercar has a minimum weight - regardless of what lightweight bits they add. 1350 something kgs from memory. If they are under they have to add ballast to that weight, if they are over tough titties.

On a side note, how cool would it have been if they had of organised it properly for the 50th anniv and designated all the cars in the field liveries of all the old classic cars to grace the mountain? Could have holdens with the marlboro paint scheme, some with torana paint & others with the big banger & then have all these classic falcon paint jobs the greens tuff, shell sierra & the classic blue & yellow shell scheme?!

Lol, like when we bough my wife's vz wagon a few years ago. Was looking at two, went to one dealer and said "give us your best price", gave me a sh*t price and said not negotiable, went to the other dealer and got the price I wanted. So the other dealer rings me up a day later going "so what do I need to do to get you in this car", and I said "well if you had of given me your real best price straight off the bat I'd be in it now but have bought something else". Ahh ok, sounds somewhat straight forward which is good. I was just doing a bit of browsing on this forum as I have found a ba xr6t that's pretty much exactly what I was chasing but it has the t5z and reading about them on this forum has put the fear of god in me about them! The engine isn't modded or anything so it should be ok to drive around until I figure out what power I want out of it hopefully! I know the t56 is an awesome strong gearbox, I had one in my old vy ss and that was pushing 350rwkw and it never skipped a beat.

So what other bits would you need to complete the conversion? Just the gearbox, clutch & yoke? Do you just use the same slave cylinder, bellhousing, clutch cables etc? Or do you need the complete lot?

Yeah I was extremely surprised not to see Toyota jump on the bandwagon, especially since they are a local manufacturer and they have their finger in nearly every other Motorsport pie - a lot more being a lot lower profile than v8 supercars too! Although with merc only just signing on, perhaps they have something in the pipeline too.

Yeah, the t56 in my old vy ss did the same. Just ignore it, it won't harm anything!
