Does the CAPA clutch kit fix this? Or don't you have it fitted? Is there anyway we can refine this box, I don't particularly fancy spending 8K for a six speed. Hearing that the box sounds like a clapped out 3 speed is making me think maybe I should have stuck with the auto..

Street Tuner, I gather you have probably driven this car, is there any impressions you can give us? Are you at liberty so say how well you think/know the manual will cope with this kind of power. Also, is this the vehicle that ran the 12.55 mentioned in the TSI ECU thread? Thanks.

This may be a bit too obvious. But, I had the factory alarm on my AU. It came with a key which you could plug into the siren and turn to put it onto silent so it doesn't chirp. I guess it's for if you get home late, not to wake people up. Have you given this ago?

Well, I am glad to hear that at least some people are having good experiences with their cars and dealerships. It's a shame that some dealerships let the side down with poor performance which leaves customers with a bad taste. Before I purchased my car, I shopped around and at one dealership I had to wait fifteen minutes for the salesman to finish his lunch before he would even talk to me. Then while he was talking to me a customer who had been looking at an XR8 for about the same time had a go at the other salesmen because nobody offered him any help as they were all busy eating lunch. Another couple of dealers never returned my calls when I was making enquiries about the XR6T and then I finally went with my local dealer, who ordered in the wrong car! Maybe I am in the same geek league as Bdennis, because it appeared that I knew more about the car and its options then every salesman I spoke to. Maybe I should work for Ford for a week? I would be out 'testing' cars all day :D

I was just wondering if anybody out there is 100% happy of the experience they have had with Ford and their vehicle? It seems that thus far we have 12 pages - and growing - of problems with the XR6T and numerous complaints (including mine) about dealerships and their treatment of owners/prospective buyers. Has anyone yet been able to get there car on time, at a friendly dealer and without any problems?? I wonder if Ford has this target, or beleives that now they have a great product they can just pump them out with/without faults and with/without competent dealers...

Actually since you mentioned insurance. How stupid and backward is this! I asked RACV about fitting an alarm and if there was in premium reduction as a result...guess what the response was....your premium will go UP because you are adding to the value of the car!!??

Trade ins are rips! They offered me $17 000 dollars for my AU XR6VCT with 76 000km, I later sold it for $25 250 even though I spent about $15 000 on mods<------wont be doing this in a hurry with the BA, lose SO much money.

Is there any power benift?(don't think the ECU allows it eg CJF077's car) If not it's a lot of dollars just for a better sound.

For passenger vehicles not previously registered (usually meaning new vehicles), the duty payable with the application for registration is: $5 per $200 or part thereof if the dutiable value is less than $35,000; $8 per $200 or part thereof if the dutiable value exceeds $35,000 but not $45,000; or $10 per $200 or part thereof where the dutiable value exceeds $45,000 Source: http://www.sro.vic.gov.au Does this mean that at $45000 I pay $1800 yet at $45001 I pay $2250 (another $450!)? And is this just on the RRP or drive away including accecories?

I have read about these pagers. They look like a good idea, and cheap. $90 for a little lcd screen displaying the car and indicating what part has been bumped or tampered with etc. Only thing is, if you get just the pager by itself, then you still have to use the Ford keypad to open the doors/boot etc. So on top of having your car key, the Ford keypad, and all your other keys, you have this additional pager. I am considering one, however the guy I spoke to rekons to keep it on ya belt otherwise it gets scratched with all your keys and stuff. The range is anywhere from 800 meters to 1.5km, and considering I usually aren't that far away from the car anyway (too lazy to walk!), and most people don't react to alarms, this may be a good idea. my 2c.

I think 18's are $1500 so if you get them for $500 it would work nicely.

APPARENTLY my car is now waiting to go to FPV, so I rang FPV to check up and HOPEFULLY I will be driving it before easter, but maybe not!!! The sales manager at my dealer has been helpful, but I would never deal or recommend anybody to deal with my particular salesman (the one that stuffed my order). I have been given an AU3 Forte (GAS) in the meantime which I am thankful for, except it had 5km DTE when I picked it up...

Check the back of your contract, from memory I think it's para 2(a).It's the RRP at time of delivery. Something like that anyways...

Oh, and when I was speaking on the phone to the girl she thought I was asking about a performance pack for which she said the info wasn't yet available. This gives me the impression that something may be on the way...I don't want to speculate, but I wonder what she was talking about?

Ok, just rang 13FORD. Apparantly it IS available for the XR6T yet it is up to dealer discretion if they wish to give it to you. Just so I could prove this to my dealer I got a refrence to a dealer bulletin as follows: DCB 2003/120 So there you have it. If the dealer denies it, ask to see this bulletin. Just because they can do it, doesn't mean they necessarily WILL do it, and I bet ya mine probably wont! Good luck guys...

I hope so, my car should be coming into the dealership tommorow so it will already have all my options unfortunately. Wonder what else I could get...something that is dealer fit, and worth $1500. 18's would be good, but I already paid for them. grrrrr.
