Wish I could have been there.. I trip to Melbourne canned that.. Ill be at the next with bells on... -
I have got one in my fg.. Good bang for buck turns 325rwkw with the little turbo but I would go the pw to e honest to much chopping to get the rapid cooler in there.. Good for what it cost but regret the chopping required now...

Well I'm changing the fuel filter which is only 16000kms old.. The fuel pump is walbro gss341 and injectors seimens 60lb only 6000kms old.. Suppose ill just go through the motions.. Filter, plugs, coils.. Then ill be off the the tuner get the fuel pressure checked I suppose.. Anyone got any better ideas? Thanks

Hi all, I did forget to mention it has been having quite a lot of trouble starting intermittently.. More so when warm.. Is it still more then likely the coil packs? Cheers

Sometimes it's better not to have input.. Cheers Justa6

Yeh well seems I am the stupid one.. Thought it would be easier.. Paid $45 a coil so slightly cheaper and confirm with the bloke they were genuine ford coils.. Haven't been able to get to ford so getting them delivered was the best option.. So people have been done by the same advert.. Cause I was sort of convinced it was coils car has 76000 kms on it.. Bloody coils look the real deal too.. Spewing...

Really I confirmed that they were genuine before purchasing.. This is the exact link Look at this on eBay: IGNITION COIL FORD FALCON FG 4.0L 6cy XT XR6 TURBO NEW x6 http://bit.ly/WS04j3 Anyone been stung by this one before??
-
Genuine off eBay with the exact same stampings as the original ones..
-
Genuine and just replaced them.. I have ngk Platinums gapped to 0.8mm they are only 6000kms old.. I thought coils so changed them.. No result..

Hi all, I have an fg xr6 turbo making 325rwkw.. Mods are Siemens 60LB, walbro intank pump, 4inch dump, twin 2.5 inch exhaust, wastegate mod, zf tune, rapid 1000hp cooler and piping kit and turbosmart 12psi actuator.. Only had this complete in November and its only done about 6000kms since if that.. I am now having the issue that if I give it a good whack of throttle once it hit 3000rpm it bogs down, splutters and throws in the occasional backfire... I just changed coil packs and the fuel filter was done 10000kms ago and plugs were changed when everything else was done 6000kms ago.. I am a bit stumped as it revs fine under no load or if I accelerate at a decent level it's ok.. As soon as I go 3/4 throttle and it hits full boost it plays up.. Any ideas??
-
Bit of a typo up there meant to say you will struggle to see much over 300 unless you do the lot..
-
I did all the mods myself and shopped around a lot.. Only paid for tune and getting the wastegate repaired and ported out.. $5k sounds about right for no exhaust wastegate porting, zf tune.. There is a few was to do it but you won't see 325 you will be seeing o or around 300 definitely not much over for 3k.. My tune is spot on I think the stock turbo still has plenty of legs in but yes if it goes bang I will be chucking a gtx it which should see me up to the 380 mark..
-
$6k but you won't make 325 any other way...
-
How much was what all up???
-
I have to mention that I like the zf tune on mine but have noticed when. Cruisin on the shift into third it makes an extremely loud wooting type noise... Not sure what it is but after putting the tune without zf tune in it the noise is gone.. The standard zf tune does often get lost with what it is doing though... Anyone had this noise before??

I changed to a stainless steel item.. Purely be because the exhaust showed so much restriction I decided I would do the whole exhaust including 4inch dump.. I think my cat was on but I wasn't risking having more dramas... Spiro looked after me with the exhaust so I decided to just do it properly this time and stop stuffing about... All good now.. Got the result in the end... Sounds horn too...

Yeh I'll sort it this arvo...
-
Really a gt42 or 45... LAG anyone!!!
-
Just upgraded to a 4 inch dump and cat.. It's a replacement dump pipe with 100 cell cat welded in. Direct bot on for fg...
-
After installing a rapid intercooler kit making a cold air induction, changing the cat to a 100 cell item, some 60lb injectors and a tune the car only managed to make 281.8rwkw with a huge amount lag. With the tuner unhappy I took it back for investigation a few weeks later. The car had dropped to 242rwkw with heaps of lag. Turned out exhaust was no good and the wastegate was leaking. 2 weeks later went back to finish the job. 4inch dump, cat, twin2.5 xforce, wastegate flapper mod and actuator, fuel pump and tune.. Turned out the flapper arm was bent holding the actuator open (LAG!!!!)... With all this done car spat out 325rwkw and 800Nm. Needless to say the car is completely different.. Thanks heaps to spiro at autotech for all his help.. Champion bloke..

Unless you buy the one I may have for sale in a week or so
-
I wouldn't worry about the flapper mod if the turbo didnt have to come off for the actuator and flapper to be repaired anyway. I have be honest I didn't expect to see 35rwkw restriction out of the standard exhaust with 100cpi cat. There is definitely an issue with the exhaust. Better off leaving the car stock once it all goes wrong makes me wonder why I got started.

It's in the wastegate. Had it tuned 6 weeks ago and made 282 but was laggy and max boost was 12 psi. When I went back it was only making 242 and running about 8 psi. A bit of fiddling saw 268 at 11 psi so the exhaust was dropped off and the car instantly made 304 proving issues with exhaust beig very restrictive. I need to do wastegate actuator and retune anyway. I may aswell not mess around with the exhaust as its stock just with a cat and it is proven to be quite a problem. It's one of those all or nothing situations if I am going to repair the flapper and actuator and retune I may aswell do the exhaust and get some real results..
