  1. Yeah, when I was going to the gym previously I lifted heavier and less reps, but wanted to dial it back a little and let my body get used to it before winding back up.
  2. First gym session done: FitNotes Workout - Tuesday 21st May 2019 ** Flat Barbell Bench Press ** - 60.0 kgs x 10 reps - 60.0 kgs x 10 reps - 60.0 kgs x 10 reps ** Seated Dumbbell Press ** - 15.0 kgs x 10 reps - 15.0 kgs x 10 reps - 15.0 kgs x 10 reps ** Incline Dumbbell Fly ** - 12.5 kgs x 10 reps - 12.5 kgs x 10 reps - 12.5 kgs x 12 reps ** Close grip pushups ** - 3 reps - 4 reps - 4 reps ** V-Bar Push Down ** - 28.0 kgs x 10 reps - 28.0 kgs x 10 reps - 28.0 kgs x 10 reps Then jumped on the treadmill and jogged 1km, walked 500m, jogged 500m then did a cooldown.
  3. Well, my plan was to get to work an hour and half early, then that would allow me enough time to go at lunch, get back, shower etc. Who knows, maybe once I get into it a bit more I'll prefer first thing in the morning...but we'll see. Thanks for the feedback guys. And yeah Keefy, I've tried the gym near my house previously but it's more out of the way - this gym is much more convenient.
  4. I've had a lot of sleep issues over the years, so I'm up at 6am everyday now anyway, otherwise I don't sleep. But I'm still pretty unmotivated to hit the gym that early...plus gym would be busier then than during the day. Who knows, I may end up going early...but we'll see.
  5. Well, I joined a gym near work today. I've been going back and forward over my different options and this is what I figured: I don't like going to the gym when everyone else does, but don't tend to mind it when it's quieter I don't tend to like exercising after work because it wakes me up heaps and then I don't sleep as good that night I can be pretty stiff and unmotivated first thing in the morning I find it somewhat easy to roll out of bed, make a coffee and head to work So I've decided my plan of attack is to head to work earlier on gym days then go to the gym at lunch (or maybe a little before, if it's too busy during lunchish times). That way I don't have to try convince myself to hit the gym just after waking up and also don't have to try and convince myself to go after work, when all I really want to do is go home and go full sloth-mode on the couch. Is 3 days a week a good thing to aim for to start do you guys think? Split the routine with back/bi one day, chest/tr/shoulders another and legs on the third, with a bit of cardio thrown in (start off with maybe aiming for 2km of jogging/walking mix and build from there)? Have also told the guys at work and told them to keep me accountable and force me to go.
  6. See previous statement.
  7. Cats are speds.
  8. Yup, this has been my life for the last year+.
  9. I know that feeling... Morning all.
  10. Fair enough. I feel like I haven't been overly active lately (I blame uni), but things still going well with Miss Adminihamster?
  11. Howdy. It's funny - I kinda get excited about home time...but I also quite enjoy my job now, so I don't actually mind being here. Speaking of work - how goes the job side of things Keify?
  12. Super exciting photos: TP-Link W9970 and Netgear Orbi RBK50 modem Orbi satellite
  13. Why would you want a pic of me on the crapper? Creeper...
  14. Got sick of having to reboot my Netgear Nighthawk D7000 modem router every few weeks when it would drop signal, so been doing a bunch of reading about stable setups for FTTN NBN and today I bought a cheap TP-Link W9970 modem to run in bridge mode into the Orbi RBK50 mesh WiFi setup l also bought today. Currently sitting on the crapper right at the back corner of the house (furthest point from the modem) and I've got full Wi-Fi signal, 48Mbps download speed over Wi-Fi with a Wi-Fi connection speed of 465Mbps. Not bad!
  15. Haha cheers mate!
  16. On the Imodium now, so hopefully dries up soon.
  17. God I miss being able to eat food - all I've had in the last 48hrs is 2 slices of dry toast this morning... But in answer to your question - similar method to @Puffwagon, bit of sauce on top where I'm about to bite then rotate and squirt sauce into the pie with each bite. In other news, been doing a lot of reading and pondering about the whole bike thing... walked outside this morning and it was pretty bloody cold! Reckon I could easily find myself trying to talk myself out of riding in winter when it's cold and raining. So thinking maybe gym near work wasn't such a bad idea after all - would just need to commit to it.
  18. Still pissing out my ass is not making me feel good πŸ˜‘
  19. Nah, no idea...must have eaten something or picked something up from somewhere. Has not been fun... Pfft, day on the sofa and no food is helping.
  20. Yeah, I guess it's more that I need to make more longer term choices, rather than try quick fixes. Yup. GF ordered hello fresh for dinners - so that'll help us eat healthier in the egg evenings at least. I used to be when I was younger. Not a "road bike sorta guy", but would probably buy an endurance road bike for commuting as it'd be a whole lot easier doing 30km on a road bike than a mountain bike. Did enjoy doing some downhill riding though.
  21. Spent the last 12hrs chundering like a champ and pissing out my asshole. Don't think I got any sleep either...so I feel really farking average right now.
  22. I'd have to build up to it , no way I could go from where I am now to riding 30km a day 5 days a week straight away.
  23. When I was larger previously I had a home blood pressure monitor and recorded my readings. Diet was terrible and as I lost weight and ate better my blood pressure went down to normal. Either way I should be exercising regularly - but walking etc means extra time I need to factor into my day. Riding would eliminate that, essentially.
  24. I am, actually...unfortunately. Weight was 105kg (I should be 75-80). BP was 170 and definitely not just a doctors office occurrence. MTB shorts have an inner liner to stop that πŸ™ƒ
  25. No lycra would be purchased. T-shirt and MTB shorts FTW. Gortex jacket for when it rains.
