  1. I did not cut this, although im pretty sure there was a change in the last few months to make it cut-free
  2. thanks, I'll give it a go
  3. to expand on this a little, what would be the best way to combat axle tramp with the above setup?
  4. that's exactly how it is set up, its just really close to the bottom intake runners and was really hard to attach the line properly
  5. the backing plate had to be trimmed down a little between taking this photo and fitting it, cost was: $150 labour + alloy $80 fittings $20 hose clamps $20 hose $15 bracket $200 pump then took about an hour for me to fit up myself Im thinking of changing the alloy elbow to a rubber one some day. so that might add a bit more to the total cost. And if anyone wants to do the same, don't put the input fitting at the top of the tank, its pretty inconvenient
  6. the pulleys are cheap (between $15 and $50), get a metal one, that way even if it wasn't the problem, you have prevented the future problem (the plastic ones can melt and disintegrate) I had a ticking with my BF2 and it wasn't always there, once I removed the idler pulley it was clear that was the problem, the bearing sounded like a kids rattle.
  7. Yeah it was a bit of stuffing around Next time I would get a smaller outlet on the pod This one is 4.5" and pipe work that big wont fit past the power steering pressure switch I've got a cover over it now and a new pipe to plumb in the BOV and breather hoses
  8. if its the points im thinking of, youll snap the bar pretty easy, your better off removing it, 10-15 minute job
  10. I was going to do my fuel pump today, the car is a bf2 xr6t and the metal ring isn't held down by the 4 screws as it says in the first post. Its got some sort of twist lock system. I could not get it to budge today. can anyone tell me how to get it off?
  11. ive got 2 stockers sitting here if you need $50s will do
  12. no theres nothing blocking it. Does anyone know where the wiring lies for the sensor? im thinking I may have dislodged it when wiring up my boost gauge?? its the only thing that's changed between now and when it was working
  13. Today my auto headlights have just decided to stay on, the other 3 functions on the stalk work fine but when in auto in broad daylight my headlights are on... any info on that guys?
  14. What im talking about is, getting a pod filter to sit in that space between the headlight and the battery
  15. Due to the plenum and intercooler setup im about to install I needed (and wanted)to move to turbo-side intake Ive replaced my battery with an optima d51 so I now have enough room to fit the above filter in front of it so ive ordered one and will get some piping made up asap
  16. what size piping are you using and where did you get it from?
  17. I'm just juggling with a few ideas to change the intake on my BF2 xr6t I'm thinking of a smaller (compared to the standard) optima battery with a pod filter sitting in front of it. Until my battery comes next week I don't know exactly how much space I have to work with (I don't think a conventional pod will fit) but I think something like this should fit http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/K-N-Universal-Air-Filter-RF-1021-4-5-FLG-5-88-B-3-25-X-4-5-T-8-H-/400309213544?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d3449d968#ht_1515wt_905 what's peoples opinions as to how well this will flow for our cars
  18. just make sure to disconnect the sway bar if doing one side at a time
  19. if you just need it for data-logging, I have an xcal2, vin locked to my old car but still data-logs and checks codes etc. make me offer on it and ill send it your way
  20. To the people who have made their own or had one made up, What size fittings did yous use? and what type?
  21. have you seen the gap most of these cars have between the bumper and headlight? Plus the big mouth kits pick up air then pass it over the radiator, which will help to heat it up
