  2. Count Me In! Just let me know what I need to do to make it happen.
  3. Thanks for the links, I haven't really been able to find any threads that answer my questions regarding Fire Glaze / Glare type products though. I can certainly gather that the purists prefer waxes etc. I have always been of the opinion that waxing was far better than any of these "glazes". After seeing that black XR8 though, I am starting to wonder if I should not apply a tough glaze to the paint job once the imperfections etc have been removed. Are there any long term problems associated with using a hard glaze on the paint surface?
  4. Thanks Zap! How long till the black beast arrives??
  5. Hi All, I have been reading several topics lately about car care and polishes etc. I have followed this advice and it has worked quite well, the car looks very nice although there are still a few swirl marks etc. The other day though, I saw a really nice XR8 and I decided to ask him what polish he uses. He said that he had not polished it. A year ago he had a coat of "Fire Glaze" applied by an auto detailer here in Perth and since then he has just washed it. His paint job looked amazing, much better than my car has ever looked!! I went and spoke to this detailer and he wants $480 to buff my car then apply this Fire Glaze product. I did some quick research on the internet and I have come across another product "Glare Infinity Plus" at www.paintprotection.com.au. It has all the same claims as the Fire Glaze but the whole kit can be purchased for $180 and they say that anyone can apply it. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone here could offer some unbiased information on this topic and possibly experience with either product??
  6. Hey Glen, Slightly off topic I know but when you going to update your avatar to show us how the Impuls look on your car??? Bonspeed "Intense 5"
  7. Sorry Steve, can't make it. I considered putting my car in the FPV Tickford Club display (only for a second mind you) but I think that its more fun to just go and look at other cars and the driving events.
  8. Itec, Are those rims taken?
  9. you want 3 for the AU? Ill give them to you! I have 1 buckled front got sick of dealing with Tempe and have a set of NEW NICER wheels sitting in the garage that are going on on wednesday Konig Uknowen are my new ones BTW http://www.konigwheels.com/catalog_product...yID=1&ss_id=373 Ozzy no longer carry the AXIZ deepdish but they can still order them from the states. from memory they are about $650 per wheel Itec, I would be interested in buying them off you If you want. Let me know!
  10. Mark, The 226rwkw figure certainly sounds impressive, unfortunately you can't place a great deal of reliability upon it given the variance between different dynos. As I said before, the Genie dyno showed my car as having 298rwhp (222rwkw). I know there dyno is not a Dyno Dynamics unit (which may explain why the reading was so high) but you can still get variances between similar dynos. I can't remember whether or not shoot 6 is the typical mode to have the dyno in but this would also affect your reading. Anyway the point is that I know that my car didn't have anywhere near 222rwkw and I suggest that your car may not either. If it did really have that much power, I am sure that you would have no trouble getting into the 13sec bracket given the results of others.
  11. I was sure that Jason said he had the latest Generic Tunes from CAPA when he did mine, could be wrong though!
  12. That looks pretty much identical to what I experienced. After loading my CAPA Generic 10psi tune I couldn't hardly notice any difference when driving it. It did make a few different sounds from the BOV but that was it. A while ago I had my stock Mk1 (T5) on the dyno at Genie and it showed 298 rwhp. After loading the 10psi tune, I put it on the dyno at D&T in Wangara and it only showed 195 rwkw. Jason (M6 XR6T) spent all of two minutes changing a few parameters on the CAPA tune and all of a sudden it was making 245rwkw. This is still not ideal, I am sure that a proper custom tune would be a lot better but at least I can certainly notice a difference when driving now. The mid range is a lot stronger and it really likes to rev now (pitty I didn't have this done before the last cruise)! Anyway, I am sure that you will be much happier once you have a proper custom tune done. I plan on doing it as soon as I get some injectors.
  13. His number plate is 1BAXR6T. Hey Steve, you might be able to answer my query about the forum. I have been a member for a while and have made a small donation but I still can't start my own topic. Do you know what I have to do be given this ability?
  14. Steve, His first name is George, and I am 90% sure that his surname is Simms. I should know cos he is the Co President of the FPV Tickford Club but it is a little early in the morning to be remembering stuff like that. Leigh
  15. Thanks to Steve and Snail for all your efforts in the organisation, it was a really great day! I am a bit dissapointed that I had to leave after Feral's, sounds like I missed out on a bit of fun with those roads near Pinjarra For all you guys that like some of the more enthusiastic driving, I believe that there may be another ford day out at AHG soon, I will let you know if it eventuates!
  16. The T may not be a very exciting drift car in stock form but most aren't. that's not to say that you can't drift it. I have had mine VERY sideways in the dry in second gear (I even have the fingernail marks in my arm from my girlfriend to prove it). Now that I have lowered it and its running the 10psi CAPA tune I get the feeling that it will do it even easier. I will let you all know just how good it is when I get it out to the track again! In short I don't think that you will need to do much to the T to make it pretty exciting in that respect, a bit more power and some stiff suspension is all it will take
  17. Sorry Steve, I actually like the new front on the phoon! Here is a pic I took at the Sydney Motor Show. Each to their own I guess but I certainly wouldn't mind purchasing one.
  18. You may have already seen these but here is one that I took of the black GTP at Sydney Motor Show (sorry its not the best but I thought I had more, got lots of the phoon though!)
  19. Good Question!! I know that people are generally saying that 250-270 rwkw is about as far as you would want to go with the T5 but would be interesting to hear if anyone is running any higher than this with no probs. Anyone????
  20. LeighD replied to F6 UTE's topic in FPV & Tickford
I would look at updating to the BF Phoon purely because there is so much potential there. The handling may not be the same as one of the all-wheel drive cars but that doesn't bother me cos I am addicted to the fun you can have with rear wheel drive! I certainly think that the Phoon will offer formidable performance from the factory but I wouldn't be buying it for its standard capabilities. What will be more interesting to me will be to see if Fords attempts at stopping modifications are successful on the BF range. I would also like to know what the limits of the FPV engine internals are. Either way, give me the phoon any day

Yeah Ross, I went to Curtin, was studying Engineering. Graduated 2002. What about you? Leigh

I have to admit, I think the new Phoon is great!!! I was lucky enough to be in Sydney on the opening day of the motor show so I made sure I got there to check it out. I must say aswell, the Sydney Motor show was awesome!! We just don't have much to compare it to here in WA. The Phoon certainly looked good, I couldn't resist having my photo taken in it. I have attached a couple of pics. Time to start saving.......
  23. I have been told that this event was a trial to establish whether or not an ongoing series may be feasible. By the size of the turnout last week, I am sure that the organisers will be keen to stage future events. The only possible restriction may come from CAMS officials! Some of these guys are notorious for being very fastidious when it comes to the organisation of these events. I was a little suprised that there was no visable signs of discontent from them on friday. I have been to events where they have been quite upset if people are having a little bit of "fun" on the track. However, there were guys who were just about out of control coming through the S's at Barbagallo's (pretty close to the wall) yet noone seemed to batt an eyelid. Leigh
