I think a Jacket...If good quality with a bit of brightness about it, I would pay a couple of hundred rather then those drab FPV jackets I saw at the open day!..& they were $250!

ULP would be correct! only 9.5 comp ratio, Compared with the 290 boss ( 10.5)...Which requires Pulp... And XRt listed as using both. Speaking of which, I see Ford have finally updated their site... Now opens with the Fairlane & the 4 wheel drive thing... What is it, a Honda CRV, or an X Trail or similar?

Sorry guys, But all a little "overwhelming" for me at the moment.....I've been to the motorshow & saw with my own eyes , the colour.... "Blood Orange".( not in a Pursuit, BUT very similar lines from the drivers doors forward, in a GTP)....I've been to FPV , & saw , once again, with my own eyes, where these wonderous machines are "born"... My new baby is probably there NOW, in the "womb", so to speak!!!....However, It IS a sad night for me!... Because...Tomorrow.. My "baby" gets picked up by her new parents!..... June 2000 I picked her up, so sparkling ,so new smelling,So V8 ish, ( you know the feeling?)..Well , Really, until tonite it hasn't hit home how much that car has meant to me!!......& how much I'll miss her..She has been like my best friend...We have been EVERYWHERE!... We have blown the doors off VT's, VX's, VY, SS 6 speed utes...not to mention numerous "clubbies"!! & those obnoxious "6 inch chrome exhaust missing on 2 cylinders", jap thingos ..( Most of those efforts were not my driving, BUT , Herrod motorsport's engineering) Anyhow, thing is .......After all the effort ........Tomorrow IS the day!.. Ok, A new day will dawn, A brand new 290 ute!!........BUT, WILL it be the same?...

One "downer" for me, personnally was, NOT ONE Blood Orange vehicle on site?... I even sneaked around to the holding yard... Maybe there was ONE? ..right up the back?..Couldn't tell if was a sedan or a ute ?... Spoke to one of the FPV guys in the assembly plant area, & he reckons he has seen a B/Orange ute out there?( even gave him my SIDO & attemted to bribe him to find out....Please, Please make it mine???..( after seeing this colour in the flesh at the motorshow, I'm rapt, I did take the punt!!)

Went to FPV open day this morn.. Fantastic...Would fill this entire site if I submitted all the pics!!.. Some great cars, Laminges T series( though not finished...WOW!) Really good of Ford to let the public see just what goes on behind the FPV doors!1 XR6T that caught the eye was a Congo Green outsite the engine plant!! ( No pic sorry)..Changed, totally my opinion of green!..Another was the Blueprint XRt parked near the engine plant! ( SLOJAM) ...Hey , you following me Dave?? ( 2 days running) One thing that surprised was the Turbo utes only have a one piece tailshaft?.. This means they are limited to 180ks!.. You'd think they woulda put the 2 piece in this baby??... Enclosed a couple of pics, No doubt Richdave & some others will submit more? ADD UP THE Kw's HERE!!! ( & they're 290's Not 260's)

Speaking of the motorshow... I went around 4.30 this arvo ( in the wifes XR6T)......The traffic ...YOWW!! bumper to bloody bumper!!......Then, My son says" hey Dad ,Isn't that one of the cars from the XR6turbo site?"... And There it was,not more than 3 car lengths in front!... A stunning Blueprint XR6T with the number plates "SLOJAM" Calmed me down instantly!!..... I thought, Well thank god I'm not the only whacker to have decided to go today!( Hey Richdave, nice car!)

Hi Wally !!.... hope your message isn't "directly" intended for my behalf? .... (I KNOW you'll be doing your best!)... Interesting, though, that Dave bought up my SIDO ( on Ford forums) & It showed Bl orange , cloth int, AND 215:65 x 16" tyres & wheels??.. Hmmm, wonder if they are at least , ALLOY??..

I think we should be looking at the long term picture , if considering keeping the vehicle for 3 yrs + This FPV range is the very 1st to wear the badge! Gt's & Pursuits are numbered & given their own identity with this. In 3 or 4 years I believe the resale value will be drastically more than an XR?.. You imagine in 10 years time, having a BA GT number "9"( or any early No.) for sale?...With low K's & good cond the car could fetch anything?...Damn sure it won't be the "lemon" the 50th annivers GT was!.... We are seriously talking a Collectors car here!..

Now , Dave , Though greatly in your debt for your help with the SIDO...PLEASE refrain from making totally ridiculas, stupid , outlandish comments Re: the Pies!!... Honestly, a man of your interlect .......AND barracking for that mob?..

Dave, Thanks for that!!....And you are more then welome for a "spin" in my Pursuit when it arrives!! ( Even allowing that you are a Collingwood supporter!!)

The weight of the Pursuit is a bit of a worry?.. ( won't need my full toolboxes for traction on this one!)

Getting the bars are the REAL issue...FPV require your vin No. Apparently they will not sell to anyone that can't present a genuine FPV vin No. !

My SIDO is 334223... This is a Pursuit... Does it work for FPV vehicles?

On the F.F. site , I see a thread where people are quoting their SIDO number & they have someway of determining when your car is due to be built!.... anyone know anything on this?

Hey Dags, Ryco hydraulics eh?..And a toolmaker!.. I'm into the engineering side of wool machinery,NOT moccasins, seat covers etc! And with the wool trade in recession, have diversified into general jobbing & production work. We have a machine shop in Laverton Nth.. CNC mills, centre lathes, conventional mills, borers etc & Can NOT find machinists!! In dire need of 2 or 3 "versitile" & KEEN fitter machinists. good pay rate , Overtime etc!... (Hey we might have to call this "jobline" instead of chit chat? lol)
