  1. this is exactly what I'm trying to perceive here. LISTEN TO YOUR TUNER. both shops didn't like the look of the gtx3582r FOR MY APPLICATION, but I listened to hype on the forums and now, in turn, am out of pocket. whats a pre load check veva? I'm tempted to leave the car the want it is but the bug has bitten, and if a little more money is going to make it a lot better..... I'm keen
  2. that's an optimistic way of looking at it
  3. this will get in the 400s??? and I've been thinking its the turbo the whole time.... haha I know it sounds stupid that I've got "too much" traction, but I'm only using it as a gauge to other cars. people are saying that they are spinning the first three gears with the same amount of power, where as I can't get the thing to spin first from a standing start. I'm thinking that with the lazy turbo, the power delivery is very steady on, and maybe that's why I am not getting break neck take offs, and frying expensive ling longs in minutes
  4. dave, as I said a few posts ago.... I don't want this to end with a shops name getting dragged through the mud. both shops have said that my turbo IS NOT the turbo of choice they would have used for my application. both shops have said that the comp wheel is too small for my application, and hence why the car is lazy. I spoke to rob last night, and he is happy to help out. both shops do have different solutions to rectify the smaller comp wheel though. rob is looking into getting my turbo machined to fit a bigger comp wheel, where as simon thinks it might be not worth machining, and to just get a new turbo. I have neither said yes nor no to either shop, as I go back to work for three weeks today. I will liaise with the two shops over the coming weeks, and my mind will be made up on the most effective, cost efficient way to get more power out of the car. NOT BECAUSE ONE SHOP IS BETTER THAN THE OTHER. like arronm has said, its like going to get a second opinion from another doctor. either way, I'm in good hands with both being reputable shops
  5. mmm I mint give it a crack. nothing to lose I guess.
  6. I talked to rob and he said the boost is on full duty cycle, and he can't command anymore. where does that leave me? simon said he is keen to give it a crack, and if he can't make it better, I don't pay... don't know what actuator he used
  7. it drives really well, don't get me wrong. its just that there are others with similar set ups doing 3rd gear skids and I can't get it to squeal the wheels in first from a standing start. to me, that sounds like a lack of power or boost or torque etc.
  8. what boost was making that power veva?
  9. why is this turbo so laggy in my situation then???
  10. That is comparable to mine, keeping in mind that the temp is a chilly 12 degrees on your run, and 30 odd degrees on my run. Did you have around about the same mods when that run was done?
  11. This makes me feel a little better... haha Your running pretty wide tyres though, aren't you?
  12. See!!! Statements like this is what is making me concerned. It seems that I am way under powered for the figures I have. In the real world, I would want traction.... but when everybody says I shouldn't have it, it makes me wonder. I have sticky tyres too.....
  13. Running a smaller .5 comp cover will help with boost coming on earlier, but I have already spent the money on the set up I have. I feel like an idiot if I now go change things, resulting in even more of a budget blow out.
  14. Before this gets out of hand, I just want to make it clear that I'm very happy with the job monsta torque has done with the car. I rang Simon at xft to ask if he had much experience with the gtx3582r, and like Rob from monsta torque, he said that it wouldn't be the turbo of choice for the set up I have. After telling him the work I have had done to the car, he was happy for me to take the car down and do a power run. The 2 power runs do differ a little, and I'm left wondering which of the 2 dynos is more accurate. The difference between having 660nm and 803nm is huge in my eyes, and the only reason I'm delving a bit deeper into the true dyno reading is because I have explained the car as not being able to spin the wheels at all, in any gear.... Much to the amazement to forum users and simon at xft.
  15. This is the difference between 2 shops/2 dynos. Very different torque figures and 20kw difference in power. SCN_0005 (dragged).pdf SCN_0005 (dragged) 1.pdf SCN_0005 (dragged) 2.pdf
  16. rob said the gtx3582r is a bit lazy to come on boost, contrary to what everyone raves on about on forums. I think there is more power in it if the turbo came on boost harder because the car is still going hard all the way to rev cut. people are claiming they are getting full boost at 3000rpm, I'm getting mine at 4000rpm. I understand that there are many variables that go into consideration, and remembering I have the huge stage 3 pw intercooler kit would play a huge part. rob said that there is turbo combination that would be better than the gtx3582r that he has had results with. I'm spewing I didn't leave it up to him with the turbo too. I'm afraid I fell victim to internet professional car tuners
  17. yeah I do have a print out. will get it scanned when I'm not busy. the car is in good hands and it would of made more power if it had more boost. a professional mechanic has done why he thinks is safe, and I can't argue with that what is a safe level of boost? is 17psi conservative?
  18. mine was tuned on a 32 degree day also... might play a part. also been told that mainline dynos are conservative
  19. haha its a job in itself just to find the time.... I'm wondering how yours went 400+??? mine went near 400 on 19psi but he brought it back for safety. how much boost you running? also getting full boost, 17psi @4000rpm... laggy?
  20. would have liked the magical 400, but it will come in the new year when it cools down a bit.
  21. Car made 380kw @17psi without valve springs. Going to keep it there till after christmas. Going to do the valve springs and up the boost when it cools down a bit.... see what we get. Bit hot to be running big boost this time of year. Thanks to Rob at monsta torque. He knows what he is doing with these cars, and explains how and why he does what he does. The car is a lot laggier contrary to what is said about the gtx3582r, but it makes for a good daily down low. Up top is a different story. The car is pretty quick when it comes on to boost. Smiles every time.
  22. can the g6et lower grill be removed without taking off the front bar?
  23. Was expecting to hear from him over the weekend, but didn't. Hopefully today.
  24. I'm 25 years of age, but right now I feel like a kid at christmas. My car has received all the fruit and its getting tuned on Saturday. Im waiting with anticipation for the outcome of how it drives and what power it makes. It takes me back to the times of being a kid and counting down the days till christmas. Looking forward to something, whether it be a holiday, a birthday, or even mods to a car is a good feeling and makes getting up in the morning easy. I hope others feel like this when getting work done to their pride and joy, otherwise I'm borderline crazy, or a true car enthusiast. I like the latter...
  25. Yep definitely. I Need to get some bigger brakes and lower it a bit to be in the same photo as yours haha
