2009 FG XR6t Ute Nitro - Stock Extra: Hard Top (colour match) rear spoiler (wing) Premium Sound Leather Interior 6 spd Manual 19" wheels Mods looking at in the future: CAI - Big Mouth K&N Air Filter Wanting ideas for improving performance before any decision has been made for upgrade to power on the ute . I am welcome to suggestions from anyone of the forum on what is out there and what is the better brand, am I getting my moneys worth etc. Cheers fellas Andrew

I did a defensive driving course at Mt Cotton back in December. Great fun I know it will cost a fair bit to hire out the track. The skidpan is one section of it (very small though small figure 8 track), the other is a test track where they test porsches etc. not sure if this part can be booked??? I like the idea of an airport haha. What did you mean by Western Areas???

just letting you know that I wont be staying for dinner either, I have to get home cause I have to get some sleep for a drive to Goondiwindi on Sunday.

I have tried using the launch control or "launch assist" feature and I got it working quite well the first second time but the first time I just smoked the tyres... but that was because I dumped the clutch. if you let out the clutch normally and put about 1/2 to 3/4 acceleration and kind of feather it you will get a good launch.... ANYWAYS from what I have heard about this feature is that it cuts 2 of the cylinders and spools the turbo for maximum boost and it actually gives an extra 3% (or something) more boost through the turbo. Once the clutch has been re-engaged then all the cylinders re-engage and you have a quick acceleration. OR you smoke your tyres haha... my two cents anyways.

like I have Bluetooth on the Iphone active and I have paired them no problems, the only issue is 1. it wont let me receive calls through the Car Bluetooth system and 2. because there arent any voice tags set up on my phone I cant make a call without picking the phone up. Is this something that should be brought up with Ford and or is it under warranty?

Hey guys, not sure if this is a better question for Apple but has anyone had issues with not being able to answer phone calls from an Iphone 4 in the FG models??? I can make calls but when I receive one it says that the Bluetooth has been disconnected and then I have to manually pick up the phone to answer it. Any ideas?

I have the 2009 FG XR6T 6spd manual, 19" wheels, and have been in a situation where I was running late for work and came out of a corner from a stand still and the back end decided to take up the other lane of traffic, this was in wet conditions and with TC on. Also when I was trying it down the straight on a back road, I didnt have any issues with the back end going into the next lane and the steering being straight it handled very well off the line especially with the launch assist.

Thanks for the advise guys, my only concern is if I do mods to the engine then it voids the warranty and then if something factory goes wrong then it will most likely cost a bit to fix. @TOUGH - love the expression of sitting back and watching your mates try and keep up haha. classic!

Hey all, Im new to the Turbo scene, is there a way to adjust the PSI of the turbo by myself or does it have to be taken in to a mechanic to adjust. Im always keen to learn different things about the XR6 Turbos so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Is there one happening in July or early August that anyone might be going to. Was looking at going down by myself but if there is a few guys heading down let me know.

Cheers mate, nah no BIG plans at the moment, ill rethink once the new car warranty finishes in a couple of years. The main thing I want to do at the moment is installing gauges like boost, water and oil. Just thinking whether it would void warranty or not and then looking at prices on a decent set. You have any thoughts??

Yer, its great. first Turbo I have owned and lovin it. It is quite fresh up the hill. It would be a change for this ute, I picked it up from Brisbane on the weekend, so I am getting used to the car. Attached is a pic of the new beast. the ugly mug in the background is me haha

Hi all, does anyone know whether installing boost, oil temp and water pressure gauges void the new car warranty? Car is a standard 2009 FG XR6 Turbo.

Anyone know of one that is going on from the Toowoomba area? I just recently bought a FG XR6t and was looking at jumping in on one of these cruises. Looks like a heap of fun. Cheers Fitzy
