Turbo Territory!
I looked at a Territory when I bought the T - a Turbo Territory would have made it a hard decide. Hope it grinds the sales of that fuel guzzling raised Commondore wagon to a halt.

Delivery Inspections
Welcome js, Check for underbody damage too - mine had the bottom of the front bumper ground off it probably from a rapid exit from a steep truck ramp when being delivered to the dealer. I also left without the spare key which they failed to mention had been lost. and a turbo badge  Not sure if this is a state thing or not, but I know one dealer who offers a cooling-off period

NYOPA, Good info. Does no EQ mean bass and treble at the lowest settings or on "0" in the middle?

Fog Lights/ Driving Lights
If you want to know where the use of foglights is illegal so far I have found: NSW - Illegal. Road Transport (Safety and Traffic Management) (Road Rules) Regulation 1999 - Sect 55 states a person must not cause or permit: any fog light affixed to a motor vehicle on a road to be lighted except in fog, mist or under other atmospheric conditions that restrict visibility. (Slymeat must have been referring to NSW) ACT - Illegal only if they "dazzle" another road user. Aust Road Rules 219 states a driver must not use, or allow to be used, any light fitted to or in the driver’s vehicle to dazzle, or in a way that is likely to dazzle, another road user. Can anyone quote other state legislation to clear this up for good?

Street Hoons Beware
Police are not the only ones involved and don't make the final decision in other states - a day in court is required where a Magistrate decides if the car should remain impounded or released. If no charges are laid by the police, the cars must be released. Tried to quote the relevant legislation so this doesn't turn into a legal opinionfest but couldn't find it.

TINTING WINDOWS
Gavin, You might not get a huge response as there is a mountain of previous posts on tinting. I recently checked them all before getting mine done. Summary - I reckon go legal. Not worth ripping it off if you need to get your car inspected. MEPFilms make EMINM35 which is available in NZ, is a non metallic (so doesn't screw your AM radio reception with antenna in rear window) has lifetime warranty, still 50% heat reduction (metallic around 60%) and looks much darker than 35%. Good luck.

GT-P Lights it up!
I love burnouts too. I love the way they make my street look like Redfern. I love the sound of them when I'm sleeping at 4am. I love the idea that my wife is walking along the street with some idiot drifting sideways up it. I loved the day I drove over the crest and had to avoid an SS ute doing circle work in the middle of the road. Police seizure powers for cars doing burnouts on public streets are fantastic. If you like this stuff, keep it off the streets.

Fog Lights/ Driving Lights
The Australian Road Rules do cover the use of fog lights. Rear fog lights can only be used in conditions of reduced visibility. Front fog lights are only included as lights that are likely to "dazzle" another user. 217 Using rear fog lights (1) The driver of a vehicle fitted with a rear fog light must not operate the fog light unless the driver is driving in fog or other hazardous weather conditions causing reduced visibility. 219 Lights not to be used to dazzle other road users A driver must not use, or allow to be used, any light fitted to or in the driver’s vehicle to dazzle, or in a way that is likely to dazzle, another road user. Whilst they are the National road rules, 219 is open to some interpretation by individual jurisdictions.

Torana Concept
There were plenty of mullets at the motor show fighting for a spot to take video of it. Might have been the constant hammering of Expensive Daewoo propaganda intermixed with ACDC Gotta give it to Expensive Daewoo marketing though. I found their stand quite annoying but they put a lot of work into the appearance, layout, flat screens, music/propaganda, new models...

Dad was lucky as!
Same goes for most moron drivers on the road Pretty rare to strike a good one as well. These topics are definitely Groundhog Day !! Hence some of us are sick and tired of reading the same crap! Touche, my friend.......touche Kinda surprised you blokes take this stuff so personally. What's occupation got to do with the sort of bloke you are? Many jobs get a floggin on here too including Ford employees, dealers, mechanics, lawyers, IT people, engineers... Once the "cop-bashing" gets highlighted, ever noticed the thread pretty much stops there...

Torana Concept
Very interesting but unfortunately.Any way we can keep AussieMan from this topic?

XR8 HITS TREE AT HIGH SPEED!
So what? My car can howl at 70kmh, as can an XR8. It means nothing. Again, more emotional crap. You should get a job writing newspaper headlines if you think that kind or hearsay rubbish is in any way indicative of FACTS. How do you know he doesnt have a highly modified exhaust, and was doing 60 with it flat chat, making a racket? Base your decisions on fact, not hearsay, rumour and stereotyping and generalisations. (No disrespect intended to the poor bloke driving or his family)
-
The New Burb
Maybe that wasnt his intention, it looks sh*t hot on the XR8 etc. So why not make your XT XR6 etc look like that too. Dazza. Well said Dazza. First stripes taking a lot of :o now the bulge. I will be getting the bonnet next year. I am not doing these thisto look like a GT or an XR8 I just like the look of the bulge. if other people dont like it do what Reg Regan says "Go and get Stuffed Lotta bulge/stripe lovers on here but I'll bite See the pattern yet? Taking unique features off other models and adding them to your car which have no function (which makes it look like the other model). Starts with r ends in ice. Your car though. Enjoy. Mine will be one of those that still look like an XR6T.
