  1. I agree, probably just a loose battery terminal or poor earth on the chassis.
  2. I'd have to agree, people are making 600rwkw easily through twin 3" exhausts. So you'd have to think a twin 3.5" would support 8-900rwkw.
  3. HOLY sh*t! That wastegate is the size of some turbo's. Love it
  4. What they said, pretty self-explanitory once you get it on stands.
  5. Yeah, the CV's are pretty weak, and are more likely to be destroyed on lowered vehicles. I've smashed mine from launching, but it's a manual, from what I've seen the auto's normally twist the tailshaft before breaking CV's, so it's a bit unusual I guess. With the next set you could get them shortened slightly to compensate for the lower ride height, and/or get stronger ones. I just got stronger internals from Allbins. Not cheap though. I wouldn't say dyno runs would do it, they ramp it up rather than nailing it from a stand still.
  6. I heard Eskimo Joe are playing at her funeral. They're playing 'Crack fingernails, dead wine.' Pretty average, I know...
  7. The FG F6's actually have a stronger rod than the other F6's/XR6T's, and have a semi-forged piston too. Alot of people have been 'reliably' getting ~450rwKw from them, and a little less from the XR6T's.
  8. Either put the old one back on, or get it tuned. That's assuming the 'cooler is the problem of course. Has it only been happening since you put it on?
  9. Did you check the gap when you changed the plugs? Around .8 would be good for a fairly stock example. Also, check that all your boost solenoid/wastegate hoses are connected. Otherwise it could be the good old valve springs.... EDIT: Just re-read your post, could be over boosting due to the new 'cooler and hitting boost cut?
  10. Is it running higher than stock boost? BA valve springs are notorious for being weak, especially after a few thousand km's. It could be valve springs struggling under high boost and valve floating, it kind of shudders under WOT. If you let it fall back to idle after it happens, and it runs rough for a bit, that's probably the problem.
  11. I just happened to be talking to Rob the other day about how they do it, he just gets it welded onto the exhaust housing then welds up the wastegate port. Personally I'd prefer to mount it on the manifold, then replace the turbine housing with something made for an external gate (better/unobstructed flow). Then you'd need to change your dump pipe etc and would be better off going aftermarket manifold anyway. Just a thought......
  12. Turn around, you're trying the wrong car...
  13. Haha. Turbo 600 with standard length swingarm....

    Head

Yeah that'll be fine, I did the same thing with my car. Already had crow valve springs so just checked it for straightness and threw a new genuine head gasket on and bob's yer uncle. EDIT: Might want to replace stem seals while it's out too.

I think there's a small difference in combustion chamber design, probably more for fuel efficiency etc rather than power. I know the inlet cam is different too, but they fit straight onto the BA/BF heads if you're that keen. You might get slightly higher/earlier torque but not much else.
  17. Holy sh*t guys, where have I been the whole time this guy's been around? I'm going straight on ebay to wind him up
  18. What the hell do I wear to a fancy dress party?

  19. Hey guys, I went to install my iPod cable into the falcon this morning, the blue cable is fine, it's just that some bastard (probably the previous owner) has cut the white plug off at the end. There's a white, black, and two orange with black trace wires. Just wondering if anyone could get a photo of the orientation of their wiring in the white plug? Any help would be very appreciated. Cheers
  20. Any updates 6BOOST? I'm pretty keen to see the outcome of the HTA too. What size exhaust inlet flange do they offer? T3? Cheers.
  21. Ok, cheers guys. Does anyone happen to know if there's any engineering shops (in Perth) that would widen rims an inch or so? I want to keep it looking like a bit of a sleeper.
  22. Hey guys, as the title says, looking for the max tyre size (width) that would fit stock 18x8" rims. Reason is, I'm looking for some new tyres with decent grip, but reasonable life (about 20,000kms is good). I've found a set of 265/35/ZR18's (93 load rating) that my mate says are good, so I'm pretty keen... Cheers in advance
  23. I'm heading there tomorrow too mate so I'll probably see ya down there. Hope to crack into the 12's (I'm pretty average at launching manuals). I'm in a velocity (light blue) BA. I agree with prev posts on the kumho's too, drop to 23ish psi and see how she goes
  24. Genius....
