Of course they aren't comparable (already pointed out numerous times) was just pointing out heavily modified v heavily modified (the only "like" between the two) the difference in times and capabilites between the cars. Nothing more, which is why its a stupid thread (and arguing that Ts "smash" Skylines including R35s).
-
Amen. Of course they cant be compared in speed/cost (initial and upgrade), and I take Tra1ners point - my choice of words was inaccurate as a hardly modded R35 was beaten by a highly modded g6t - ill cop it on the chin that I was wrong not knowing the facts of the drag. Lets see how the same g6T would go against this also street legal, shoping trolley (but highly modded as per the g6T, so closer to "like for like"). Way more $$ yes, but both designed for he drags and ill back the R35 thanks......ha ha
-
Be stuffed if I know Mika. I didnt create it mate! ha ha. If anyone honestly thinks any T is superior a R35 GTR in any way (other than having a better boot and rear seats) is deluded. I cant believe im having to make this point to be honest......surely "Ford rules" and all that bull$%^& only goes so far. Clearly the G6 has MAJOR mods to get to 530rwkw, any car can be fast when money is thown at it....but that wasnt the original point was it, but anyway!
-
Mate, that's not exactly "like with like" is it....ha ha. Hence my $$$ drag racer comment above, NASCARs are basic 30K US cars if the same rule applies. But thanks for clarifying the original point mate, appreciated (as it made no sense whatsover)
-
Ill be on my best behaviour!! ps: I also should mention that my (very) old 180K BAT "smashed" a R35 yesterday also - poor bloke in his 150K supercar that battles Veyrons and Enzo's on the track had no chance against my turboed 4 speed taxi even with no rear traction........lol
-
In fairyland. A stock R35 does 0-100kph in 4 dead (give or take either way depending on launch). Even with minor mods it does 0-160kph in 6.5 secs - there wouldnt be a T on here (unless a $$$ focused drag racer) that could do either.....ha ha.
-
LOL!!!! We all know your bias (you think your average T beats everything also) but please...... Is this like a Lord of the RIngs fantasy thread? Was the R35 ignition on? Did it have four wheels? Could the driver reach the pedals? ha ha
-
This is an old thread for sure....ha ha Personally, I would back any GTR skyline to smash any T in a real race. They are lighter, almost as powerful, just as easily tuned and have far better grip - of course they are faster unless huge $$$ are thrown at a T.
-
Cant see any reason why doing that will fix whining/flapping noises. Are you sure you havent done turbo damage if it sounds like it is coming from near the cat under the car? If not, then Diff or engine issues is most likely if its only under load, but fingers crossed its just minor mate.
-
MIne has only recently done exactly the same thing - from 3,000 onwards it continually cuts out right through the rev range (loud fluttering sound through exhaust also). Also at the lights every few second it "misses" and feels like engine cuts out, but then it sparks up again and so on. I only recently put in expensive "long-life" plugs, but coils have never been changed (in 180,000ks) so maybe its time....had them checked a month ago and all fine, another good waste of money.......
-
+1. Im confused! You said the exhaust was stolen, but also that they left the muffler? lol House insurance CAN cover things taken outside your house if on your preopty, but that would be at the discretion of the insurer/circumstances etc etc.
-
Good point mate. Sounds quite likely also in this case doesnt it....
-
Agree 100%. Was just joking on the "there will be nothing wrong with it".... A regularly driven car is better than one that sits in a garage and used for brief weekend thrashes, so high K cars can be far more reliable than one with extremely low Ks.....and the best bit is the buyer gets them far cheaper :sungum:
-
that's a big statement FFreak....lol Chances are higher for sure that car will be reliable, but things still go wrong with all cars/makes regardless of servicing........
-
Bad luck mate, could have been worse it sounds like if no damage to the car? (one positive out of a bad experience) Normally these idiots at least kick a few panels in, smash windows etc etc....
-
Its a hard decision, one ive thought about for over 12 mths. If the FG looked better I would have swapped, but I prefer the BA/BF shape even if inferior cars obviously. I am now throwing money at my BAT (new turbo etc) like Johno, and all the maintenance on a car with 180Ks is never endng, but then in a used FG there is no guarantee it will be reliable either plus the depreciation alone would probably match or exceed keeping the BA on the road. UBA, no right or wrong answer, just comes down to what path you choose mate and if modifying then its a lottery regardless which car you have! (but FG would give you better odds of reliability for sure)

Ok, ill start packing..... With Hilltop Hoods on repeat when Barnesy isn't on....lol
-
Amen. Please tell me where and ill move immediately! In fact, all the radio stations in Hobart are absolute $%^&......ha ha.

Exhaust Heat Shield Rattle and Removal (Merged Topic)
CBXRT replied to SweetXR's topic in Exhaust Workshop
All mine on a BA are off and I havent noticed anything at all. Mine kept getting fixed then rattling again, drove me up the wall......ha ha. BUT if you have a huge aftermarket exhaust could be a different story with heat etc. -
Fitting A Bonnet Protector To A Bf Mkii?
CBXRT replied to Coley's topic in Interior & Exterior Workshop
Fair enough mate, might look great. Ive seen a couple which look bad, but then seen a couple of sweet ones too. Good luck with it. ps: per the FPV comment, yes I would....ha ha. But that's just me, so just 1 in many billions of peoples opinions on cars....... -
Yes mate you would to be covered. If you mentioned drag racing you would have "rejected" stamped in less than a millisecond. Which is why I responded to Dillz trying to make out its ok when it isnt.....unless people are prepared to lie and that's a different story like anything in life.
-
LOL to the first comment....ha ha. Secondly, hmmm, let me think Sherlock........ahh, yes, someone takes photos of you are at the drags and then you present your car for warranty when something breaks. Then they see the pictures presented by reps at the event....... Obviously refused. And with good reason. Or does the law (which applies to warranties) mean nothing to you because you are special in some way unlike the rest of the population?
-
The OP just said he sold his for high 30s Dillz, with way more mods than the ones I was looking at. Trade in is mid to high 30s on these cars so put 2 and 2 together.......its not rocket science. Simply no point discussing further if you are being argumentative for the sake of it.
-
LOL. Rule for oneself and others it seems. Always ways to get around the law, doesnt make it right or appropriate.
-
Why would I tell someone else about cars I am getting could get (not 100% sure yet) at an excellent price champ?
