Did the wheels originally belong on a Barina??? dutchie

Damn, Perhaps you should trade in the T and get a Kia ??? Not worthy of a real car are you??? Like the others have told you, go stand in the corner for 30 minutes and then write 100 times on the blackboard; ' I must use the excellarator to propel the car forward and not use the brake!!!'............ dutchie
-
Thanks BA_Turbes, Yep sure have and very much appreciated too....... Still trying to work out what to do........might stick with the original plan and wait and see after the first service and see how we go..... Problem is that I'm not much of a mechanic so I would not know what I'm checking once the car is serviced..........ummmm dutchie
-
Thanks heaps too Lumpen, I would have to agree with you there....... dutchie Its Shell Optimax for me at the moment........
-
Thanks BA_Turbs, Good response and very informative........any one else care to comment please...... cheers dutchie

Well done Geea........... I now have two smiles on my face I can't get rid off........ Got to love it and surprised no-one had thought of this earlier........ We have possibly started a can of worms here....... Suppose we better start thinking of the next thing to do........ dutchie

Hi people, Although I followed Nissan for many years and then moved to RallyArt from Mitsubishi, we still own a 2000 Magna Sports.........yes, its a good car and not bad for what we paid for it new.......(I think $34K all up back in 2000), but I too started to laugh when I noticed the add.........what a load of croc.........!!!! Although the wife now drives the Sports, and I'm totally converted to the XR6T, (must whisper now, as the T is fast alseep in the garage next to the Sports).... the Magnas dont really have the grunt or power to even pull away in the first 10 seconds........ When I ordered my T some 4 months back (picked it up 3 weeks ago) we did go for a test drive in the new RallyArt Magna.......it only pumped out 171kws compared to 159kw in my Magna Sports, I was not going to pay $48K just to get a slightly different body kit and 12 kws more power......... The interior was still the same, same cd stacker etc.......hence the purchase of (need to whisper again or I'll wake the T) the monster in the garage.... Lift your game Mitsu.......your becoming boring like Bombadores same shape, engine and handling..... dutchie

Many thanks Miss_Aly for you r time, effort as well as paying for the postage........I think a drink all round on the next cruise so make sure you bring hubby alone cause you will be too drunk to drive....... dutchie
-
Thanks Macka, I am trying hard to convince the wife this as well........keep fingures crossed....... As for another cruise, have you guys thought about Lakes Entrance........ We were there last year staying ina 3 1/2 star for 3 days and it cost $219 for the whole family including cocked breaky each morning and dinner on one night......on top of this was a boat trip with buffet lunch as well....... We got this from one of those shoppa dockets........they also are on the net..... Just a thought..........the other one is Echuca........they are always having specials too and then at least the NSW chapter can join us...... dutchie
-
I have also purchased a little 1 Watt Uniden walkie talkie for our next cruise...... Even the misses really enjoyed the cruise and she will be interested in the next crusie.........now if only I can get her into one of those tight Ford T-shirts I'll be really happy........(only joking of course) Speak with you soon......and thanks heaps again for the hard work... dutchie
-
Miss Aly, Yeah........perhaps give it to them for Xmas...........would make a few red faces I reckon.........in fact, I think we should stir the pot and send it to the HSV site or one of the Expensive Daewoo sites......... What do you think?? dutchie

BA Turbs........Famke .......ummmm she went to the same school I went too...... Good to see you chose a dutchie dutchie

Over the past few weeks, especially since the Vic cruise on the weekend, I have heard several negative comments about particular Ford Dealerships and the lack of servicing claims they do not perform....... Has anyone had this where a dealer claimed to have done something but infact nothing was done.........ie change spark plugs etc....... Also, has anyone dealt with Jeff Wignall Ford in Frankston and how good is the servicing of the T's.........? Several people mentioned that their experience was not a pleasant one with this mob.. Would like your input and recommendations please....... dutchie

This is similar to what had happened to me with my Magna Sports 2 yrs back...... Left this huge shifter near the fan.....I was luckily at the lights when I heard something drop.........I popped the bonnet to find the worlds largest shifter..........luckily no damage anywhere..........but Mitsubishi never got their shifter back either........ dutchie
-
Thanks Mook for that.......... Ummm confused now.........maybe I should just keep the little 1 Watt Unidens......???!!! Is it worth swapping them over for the 2 watt ones then?? And look down the track of getting a CB for the car then??? as well as one for the home...... Are there any good ones for around $250.00 mark that I can use as a home unit?? dutchie
-
Geea & Mook05, Which Uniden models did you use on the cruise........?? I just purchased the Uniden UH041 1 Watt but found the range to be pretty low......managed around 1 km when in the car and around 1.5 kms when on foot...... They were $177 for a pair with recharge batteries and double charging cradle.....from Dick Smith...... I will return them and go to Tandy who have the more powerful 2 Watt UH044 on sale for only $143 each but at least double the wattage thus bigger range......they normally retail for $199.......even if I only get around 3-4 kms out of them I'll be more than happy...... I might then eventually consider a proper CB base station for home like those models you mentioned but on bigger aerials.....ummmmm Any comments from anyone?? If anyone else is interested, we could try bulk order and see what price we can get them for......... dutchie

Count on us for the next cruise although I dont know about the distance.......its a bit hard with 2 little ones........ I thought you guys were thinking of Geelong though.....? Anyway, let us know and I will talk to the misses as we really enjoyed the last one...... ciao dutchie

A big thankyou to Miss Aly and Blown BA for a great cruise..... I was really surprised to hear my wife saying she had a fantastic day and that everyone was really nice....... As usual, my son was over the moon and fast asleep after 5 minutes whilst driving home...... I supposed I enjoyed the cruise as well but also only 99%...... It sort of finished a flop as suddenly everone just broke away and left..... Perhaps a coffee somewhere to finish the cruise would have been better...... Anyway, a really big thankyou to Miss Aly for offering us over to her place for coffee. We would have excepted if my daughter was not so tired and becoming whingee.......it was a big day for her.......!! Also, big thankyou to all the crew for the friendship and warm comments...... Its great to belong to a group where everyone is passionate about their cars..... Hopefully next few days I will also post a few photos of the day..... Count us in on the next cruise.... Sorry to hear about the 1% Chris.......hope you guys are alright??? Car can always be fixed, so look after yourselves........ Thanks Geea for your nice comments too........except its not really a car with the lot.....we did not get leather because of the kids:) dutchie :banghead:

Well done Mook05, I've washed it twice today......... Once this morning and did some shopping. When I got back I noticed some dirt and tar on the car.....Gee, I had to wash her again....... Funny thing was the wife asked ' did'nt you wash it this morning?'....... 'No'... I replied......... See everyone tomorrow......better go to bed now........ dutchie

Whats your average fuel comsumption like?
dutchie posted a topic in Engine Management & Fuel Systems
Do you drive it easy or are you a lead foot and drive hard like a bat out of hell? Perhaps, you are one of those people who sit in the right hand lane on a freeway doing 40kms Or are you one of those people who simple enjoy the ride and dont give a toss if an SS sits next to you at the lights reving his sh*tty engine and let him speed like some dickhead only for you to be doing your 60kms and catching up to him again at the next set of lights???!! dutchie -
hahahaha, thanks people for all your responses....... Its good to see humour all round but also fair respect to the mighty GTR's been shown.. I actually follwed Nissan many years back when they were still allowed to race, but alas...... Now a converted Ford fanatic for the past 4 months, and I only got my T, three weeks ago..........and still can't wipe that smile off my face..... I even see envious SS, HSV or Clubsports lend me a quick glance over each time too.. Even the misses is taking note of cars these days......in 15 yrs, she was never interested until now........ But seriously, this Genie was on a tight budget......sure I could have added Porsch etc but, I was trying to be a bit more realistic..... Anyway, keep on voting people and love to read more comments.... dutchie
