Im with you on the superpro ralf... had changed them in my last skyline..was a vast improvement on the pedders (red ranger) generics...man theyre nasty... ive actually got the red rangers in my front lower control arms...think its time to change them to superpro. I only went to Witeline with the control blades as it was a straight replacement arm....no pressing involved. Do Superpro do a replacement arm??

After replacing most of my diff Carrier bushes (which were rooted)... there was unfortunately still this annoying knocking sound coming from the rear. My mate let me use the hoist @ his work to have another look around & whilst everything else looked in reasonable order, what I did notice was the control blade bushes looked a crappy design with around 50-60% of the bush hollow around the circumference. I contacted pedders & they recommended whiteline replacement arms. These bushes looked far more solid & robust...now I have a quiet "knock-less" rear end. These arms are a cinch to change & retailed for $155/side & to me feel the rear has a stiffer feel about it as well.

Hi, was wondering if anyone here has used the Pirelli P1 cinturatos... found an online tyre comparisson that gavethem a pretty good rating. Tried getting Achilles ATR sport 2 in 245 x 40 x 18's , but they dont make them. Can only get the ATR 1's. ..which ive heard are not a patch on the ATR 2's. I can get the pirellis for $158/trye which I think sounds great value. Cheers

just to get some more answers as well...why does my car also seem to backfire through the exhaust...cant see whay the extra boost would affect exhaust spring pressures

so Glad I read this post...my cars just started to do the same thing... changed the coils & plugs (which Im glad I did anyway...carsjust hit 150,000) & the thing does exactly what you guys mentioned "rydeit". Was hoping my car already had the typhoon springs as its an update...which I was told most had but it looks like ive just analysed my prob .. the rough idle on cold & all. Ill get my mate to change them @ his workshop. Ive also heard the Boss v8 springs are a good upgrade as well. Anyone else vouch for this? Cheers Danny

Hey thanks Dylan... yeah thought the bottom ends were the same... not aimimg for big KW... 350rw will be heaps... gonna tune in some serious torque... so really...forgies are all im going to need....but I might ask him if hes got any plans for going above the 350rw mark...then yeah... why not go the spool package. Other than the metal gasket... do most just use the standard ford head gasket?? Thanks for your help

Mate of mines BA is getting a bit tired & turbo is starting to smoke a little... its done a touch over 250k kms so ive convinced him to give it a rebuild & performance tune as well. So as to save hime taking his car off the road & having no wheels to drive around in I suggested we build another donk & do the change over in a weekend. Funnily enough...Ive just seen a Gas engine on ebay for 50 bucks... Question.... dont the gas engines have bigger conrods (same as turbo's so ive been told) ? Its going to cop forged turbo pistons anyway... so can anyone tell me any reason why this wont work? Im also planning to install the bigger valve springs (typhoon items) as well...so are the heads identical otherwise? any other advise would be great. Cheers

Yes "XRLOOK"... BFII update with ZF auto... though I have noticed it started to missfire after a few days & mainly under load & now it idles pretty rough on cold start....after talking to Jim @Tunehouse... he recommends a plug change. Going to do both plugs (jim recommends standard Ford items...anyone here got any different views?) & coils...got them on special from Ford so I thought why not... & after going through my logbook... I discovered theyve never been changed ...so Im guessing after 154000kms is about time. Ill keep you all posted cheers

Finally...Finally got around to giving my wheels a tickle... so impressed how easy it is to extract HP from these factory equiped cars... only mods are : plazmaman replacement cooler... Nizpro moded injectors, highflow cat & flash tune... result... 316.7 rwkw & 694Nm... turns tyres with ease... A big thankyou to Tony @ Tunehouse

Where Did you but them from? Tempe Tyres are selling them for around the same price.... how do they look...sum people commented the edge looks a bit weird. I think they sound like great value

Last year @ the Eastern creek V8 supercar round...there was a dark blue Ba racing in the improved production category. This thing was pretty twitchy throught the bends...but man it had some mumbo in a straight line... won the race on saturday .. but had a pretty stout....wait for it...Toyota starlet driven by Dave Loftus on his tail most of the way. Does anybody know the details of this thing? Under IPRA rules youre pretty much able to run any components from the factory Catalogue ..so im curious to know what mods have been done to this XR. Il try to find & post the incar footage from the starlet from Utube...great viewing here it is

After the news of Fords intention to Close production of local Falcons by 2016... does anyone else see the opportunity to shelve your xr turbos & wait for the value to escalate?? The thought of no more value for money Falcon turbos on the market really disappoints. To a slightly less degree...but just like the gtho.. I can see buyers...years down the track rushing to pay great coin to buy another once iconic great performing Aussie sports sedan which is no longer available & in short supply. What do you guys think??

great choice of compromise brother... guy @ work bought an 05 BA turbo(115000kms) for 12k... awesome buy & hes wrapt....AND unlike my BF...has no rear end suspension knock @ all!!!!! Told him to watch his car!! LOL.. Am sure there are even better buys out there

going for the Tunehouse stage 2 tune (around 300rwkw) soon... have been told my engine (BF2...jan 08) has typhoon springs in it. Can anyone confirm this (CONFIRM!!) ? My mates BF2 had the exact same upgrade & was fine with the extra boost & revs.

yeah..think sum call them rose joints... pedders call em knuckles... no didnt replace blade bushes... they assured me they dont cause knocking noises... was very minor play in them... but not enough to warrant changing... how did you find the play in the wheel bearings? Leaver the wheel side to side?

Anyone here tuned their cars on E85...was thinking of using one of the 3 tunes available on the xcal to set it for E85 since its so much cheaper than 98...yes Im aware that the consumption is greater...I had my old R31 running it... was an awesome fuel & got me 30 xtra rwkw. Just interested if anyone here has tried it

Def not shocks Jas... I replaced the standards with Billies... along with all the bushes & knuckle joints @ the same time... imagine the frustratiion when the noise was still there!!!!! Was hoping it was the shocks as there was minor play in the standard bushes. My mate who used to work @ Peter warrens says the drop links can also produce movement over time & ill give these a check as well...man I love my car...but theyre a pain in the rear...pun intended ...

was this noise over stuttery bumps...with most of the noise obvious on the up travell? Ive got the same traits on mine (BF2T)... hav also changed everything except front controll blade bushes...ill check the bearings & Hubs. Only thing that differs to mine is that my noise tends to be on both sides...but more so on my passengers side

will be tuned soon... aimimg for 300rwkw.. but traction under load isnt a prority... just want good all round tyres. If I was after an ultimate performance tyre... man an ebay seller has Nittos for $240/ tyre... these things are semi slicks & at an awesome price.

Am now in the market for a new set of 245x40x18 treads. Ive narrowed it down to the following. Pirelli P6 ( currently on my car... to date have 45000kms on them... I cant fault them for an all rounder.. even rather quiet), Khumo Ku 19 or Ku 31/33, Toyo proxes4 (like the fact theyre silica compound), Yokohama Advan A13 ( bit sceptical about Yokies treadwear) & Goodyear directionals ( not sure which model). Got quotes off a wholesaler & these are the tyres hes got... prices are pretty similar...just need some feed back on what memberts think. Throw some other brands at me too people.

yeah exhaust was headers included...think it was a highflow cat & 2.5" all the way...sounds the part for sure... real euro 6 note!!

my brothers brother-in-law turned up 1 day with a new exhaust system one day claiming that the standard tune was no longer good enough... obviously leaning out. So a trip to C&V now has his NA xr putting out an exceptional 200rwkw... so C&V claim... I always thought some of their figures have been far too generous... havent been for a spin yet but been told its a nugget. Has anyone else had their XR's tuned to around this figure?
