But surely leaving a car unsecured will increase the probability of giving a incorrect result?
-
Typical. No one gives a I know! I work for Main Roads!! I think the condition of roads in QLD are a disgrace. I am going to have a crack at them because I like a fight And who knows what damage has been done to my NEW suspension By the way, when they get replaced, I'm selling the set. I will have to run 18s because of the 'Third World' condition of the roads here. Shame though. I love 'em!

So I'm driving along Sir Kingsford Smith Drive in Brisbane after midnight on Sunday, and Bang! I hit a huge pothole. This is the end result.... FRONT REAR So, my insurance says that I have to foot the excess, and then try and lay a claim against the council. I reported it after it happened, and the Brisbane City Council sent a crew out at 3am on Sunday morning, in the rain to fix the pothole. Will I have any luck getting them to cough up??

Thanks for the comment guys. Mods are Bosch 42 pound injectors, walbro fuel pump, Atomic valve springs, F6 intercooler, F6 second air intake with K&N panel filter. Exhaust is stock. I noticed that he never strapped the thing down at BPS. Would that have something to do with the 'exaggerated' figures?

I have a BA XR6 Turbo, 4 speed auto. Last year the valve springs were changed to Atomic, I installed a walbro fuel pump and K&N filter with F6CAI. The car was given a run on the dyno at BPS where the springs were installed and pulled 204RWKW. The other day, an F6 intercooler was installed and the car was given a run on the dyno before tuning and pulled about 162RWKW! After installing injectors and a 13Psi tune it made over 260RWKW. My question is, why such a difference in power between the two dyno runs when the car was stock? The only thing changed was the standard intercooler was swapped for an f6 one. Can someone shed some light on this? And also, the BPS graph appears to be smoother. I have no idea why. (the difference in result on the BPS dyno graph was due to the air box being disconnected)

Awesome looking ute mate. Love the dark argent 20s Why did you remove the BOV?
-
-
My tune today 262RWKW is all the stocko exhaust would allow.....
-
Stock squirters should see you through to mid 200s at the treads
-
Queensland is not too bad. I was pulled over a fair bit in my crappy XE Fairmont. Not once in the XR6T, but I'm 100% sure they crush cars here too.
-
LOL I'd believe that
-
I've seen a full stock BA exhaust produce 280RWKW. Surely a good dump and decent cat with the centre muffler removed should see you through to mid 300s?

From my understanding, all injectors are flow matched when they come out of the factory. A set of injectors ie Siemens for example specify +/- 5% from factory. This means that no matter which injectors you choose, they will all flow fuel within 5% of one another. This is important in tuning applications because it is ideal to have exactly the same dose of fuel going into each cylinder. Factory injectors can be flow matched to a finer tolerance (say 1% of each other) by grouping injectors into sets after checking their flow rates yet again. In some applications, incorrectly matched injectors could lead to one cylinder running leaner than another, which would spell trouble. I am unsure of the required of the tolerance that these cars require in regard to injector flow matching, so could someone please add to this? check this vid out and read the comments!! cheers, Jeremy

I would take t back to the place who did the install and get them to check the alignment. If you have no luck after that, take it to another place and get another opinion. I had mine aligned at one reputable establishment, only to find that it was completely on the piss when I took it to another shop.

Considering Buying An X3 This Week

Do yourself and your car a favor mate. Get it tuned properly on a dyno. Loading generic tunes on your car is like russian roulette! -
Yes all the ford bushes in these cars are garbage. Front and rear. Superpro (a brand by Fulcrum) are the only way to go...
-
That's freaky that you were still able to drive it when it was in that state............

Awesome man. Good effort. Time for an ATOMIC rebuild!

Late last year I lowered the BA. I used the standard combo of King Springs- superlow front and super super low rear. Took the front down by about 15mm initially and the rear by about 30mm. Levelled it out quite nicely. My car is a 2003 Ba XR6T sitting on 245/R20/30 rubber. I drove it around for 3 months- all good, until I noticed that the inside edges of my 4 month old tyres were wearing very badly. A vibration through the steering wheel from 80-110km/hr became very noticable too. I took it to get the tyres rotated and balanced. The balance of the front tyres was very poor, due to the worn rubber on the inside edges. I then took it down to Fulcrum suspension so they could have a little looksee underneath. Prognosis- Not good. Was told that the struts needed replacing, as well as the lower control arm bushes. He said that the standard BA lower control arm bushes are glycol filled units, and only last for about 40,000 kays. The glycol leaks out, the suspension starts flopping around making it impossible to hold a correct wheel alignment. I ended up getting struts replaced with shortened Munroe units, and the upper and lower control arm bushes replaced too with Superpro brand units. Total price $1100. I was also told that the rear bump stops need replacing too with shortened ones (due to the arse end being very low from the SSL king springs)., as well as the diff bushes and rear shocks and some other bits and pieces. This will also cost me another grand. In short, the guys at Fulcrum told me that lowering these cars upsets the worn bushes and components by putting more stress on them. So be prepared to open up a can of worms in terms of replacing crappy factory suspension bits if you decide to replace your springs only. I wish I was told this before, as it has started to get pricey.

Forum member 'Big John' has an ex chaser, the thing is a weapon. I've also owned an ex cop ute, 2005 BA Mk2 XLS. it was a dog squad car. Apart from the dog hair in the tray, it was immaculate!

Mate nothing wrong with a NA falcon mate, especially an FG at that! I'd still have my NA 2005 BA XLS ute if it didn't go underwater. Would you mind telling how much you paid for it?

They look the goods mate. I think I'll be doing something similar 3" is a good size.

Awesome. pics would be good mate. where did you get your tips from?
-
This is probably a dumb question, and I couldn't find any information about it. Anyway, If I remove the exhaust tip on my BA XR6T, will I have to fit new tips, or do the stock ones come out far enough? I just hate the look of the stock one because it's crooked on mine. Does anyone have any pics? cheers, J
