I just did mine with the tube out definatly the easiest way. heres a couple pics remove tub liner best with 2 ppl but I did it myself (cause I have no friends ) drill out the spot welds you can either undo the tank brackets or drill more holes to get the screws out hope this helps someone (sorry was a bit late for you darrel)

  12. yeah I did that the other day but still does it
  13. oh,thanks for clearing that up. so in that case what would be the cause of my problem? it used to clunk pretty bad but now I get no clunk but the car jerks badly when I back off, I also creaks a fair but over bumps
  14. yeah I have searched and found all that about the sedans but mine is a ute surely its easier to access I wanna do as much as I can my self cause I dont have much work atm so I have the time but not alot of spare cash, im pretty mechenicaly minded and have a couple mates who are mechs. we just done an oil pump and bearings in my engine so these things should be no trouble. just want a bit of advice
  15. hi all. Im trying to sort out all the issues with my ute, firstly the diff bush (well I think that's the problem) it used to clunk but now when I back off the whole car jerks (as it would rolling slow in first, but does it in any gear at any speed) wats the best bush to use and is it a difficult job to DIY in a ute? also got a rapid V2 cooler im putting in today and want to do new plugs at the same time what plugs are best and is 0.85 the right gap to set them to? and fuel pump?, probably go internal, so again whats the best and any tips on installing it, does the diff have to come out or is there a way around that Any tips on bending the aircon pipes to fit the cooler? thanks in advance for any help you can give Brad.
  16. hey wandering if anyone knows what happens when this gets bad, mine has stopped clunking but now when I back off the whole car jerks (like it would if you were rolling slow in first) but this does it in any gear even when braking would this be from the diff bush?
  17. that tread was helpful, my wheels used to sit forward like that too but was fixed when they replaced my springs due to bad tramp after lowering just got under and done mine, was the front spring mount bolts, like yours (not as bad) plus the U bolts were loose aswell. I'll take it for a drive soon, hope its fixed cheers, Brad.
  18. I have one but wouldn't recommend it I've had a heap of dramas with mine and the drive is a bit rough.
  19. x2 I think it comes from the rear suspension
  20. just got it all back together last night, runs great, except on idol it will run a bit rough but it comes and goes, im thinkin it might be a leaking vacuum line or something, any ideas?
  21. ford charged me $12 so not too bad, wasn't really a normal bolt has a rubber grommet on it and its not a strait boltbut all sorted now bout to start putting my engine back together (done an oil pump) if all goes well she'll be running tomorrow woohoo! cant wait haven't dirven it in 3 months
  22. never mind I just drilled a small hole in it and hammered a small torque bit in there worked a treat just need a bolt now guess ford will have one?
  23. can any one tell me where the best place would be to find a cam bracket? (see pic) around brisbane area when ford got me a rebuilt engine some dumbass factory worker has snapped the bolt off that goes through the rocker cover, and just turned it upside down and sat it on the hole. so I think I need a new cam bracket unless anyone has any ideas how to get it out, then I'll only need a bolt.
  24. just ordered the oil pump and bearings through atomic Cant wait to get it back on the road been almost 3 months
  25. yeah I plan to get the pump from atomic, but im pretty sure they dont come with the housing which is wat ive been told is best to get second hand. but I could be wrong. will be calling atomic tomorrow, need big end and main bearings too, can any one recomend any and maybe have a part number?, maybe atomic can hook me up with those too?
