  1. The tyre is still on the rim (which is still on the car, parked in my garage), so you probably won't see much. I had a look around the edge of the rim and didn't notice anything (other than the gutter rash), but I would imagine a fracture would be hard to see with the naked eye anyway, and it would be hard to see the damage with tyre still on. I can take a pic anyway if you want. Will be taking the wheel off later this week when I take it in to the alloy repair shop.
  2. Hi Guys, Last week, I punctured the sidewall of one of my tyres. Unfortunately I had no spare that would fit over my Brembo brakes, so I was forced to drive on the flat. I pulled into a servo and filled it with as much air as I could, then drove carefully to the next servo and did the same thing, but it wouldn't hold the air for long and lost it pretty quickly. I did drive slowly and carefully until I got home, which was 10 minutes away. I'm just wondering if I have f*cked my rim beyond repair, or if it would even be worth repairing? I don't give a sh*t about the tyre as my tyres were almost bald anyway and about to be replaced, I just want to salvage my rim. The rim had bad gutter rash anyway so it needed to be repaired, but I just want to know if driving on a flat tyre made it much worse, to the point of not being able to be repaired. It's a 19" FPV rim. I would've towed the car home, but I was desperate to get home as quickly as possible as I had to catch a flight. Anyway, I'm taking the wheel to Advanced Alloy Wheels to get assessed this Saturday, but I just wanted to check with people on here if this has happened to anyone else before and what my chances were of fixing this rim, and if its even worth fixing. Cheers guys.
  3. Goodluck buddy, which show you doing, and what class? I've done a few of em myself, back in 2010. Want to get back on stage but struggling to get the motivation I once had back then lol. Maybe next year.
  4. STIFLR you getting ready for a comp or something mate?
  5. Just read this thread...as I read that a different sized wheel was used on front left, I thought to myself, 'there's the problem'. Same thing happened to another bloke on here couple of year's back. Vevapower, interesting place for the transcooler. Had thought about moving mine there but was worried about damage due to stones etc...
  6. I have had this problem ever since owning my car really. Had my diff bushes checked and they were fine. The clunk got even worse once I got my ZF tuned, and at times would feel like I got rear-ended as I shifted into gear lol. I would look into the rubber donuts Pat mentioned, this is what I'm going to try, along with replacing most of my bushes with Superpro (more for handling reasons). If this doesn't work then I'm just putting it down to driveline backlash, which is what it feels like anyway. For now I've just learnt to live with it and try not to back off the accelerator quickly when it's about to shift into gear. I'll back off after it's shifted into gear.
  7. Thanks for the heads up mate, didn't think of that lol.
  8. Henz, where did you get those from, and how big are they? Wanna get some to space out my FPV 19's so they sit flush with the guards but not sure what size to get.
  9. Thanks mate I'll get in touch with them and see what they can do.
  10. Do you know what exactly gets replaced for that price? Coz I had my ZF rebuilt at the start of this year and it cost me a lot more than that...and that was a standard build too. No extra clutch packs or billet input shaft.
  11. Just checked Tirerack as I'm interested in these tyres once my Dunlops wear out, and the price was $1090 after conversion. How did you get them under $1000?
  12. Not sure why these rims are so popular all of a sudden. I remember over a year ago someone was trying to sell a couple of brand new sets for a little over 2 grand on ebay, and no one was interested. They were on ebay for weeks. Silver G6ET, don't pay 4 grand mate, that's ridiculous. You can buy way better rims for 4 grand!
  13. Hey Mate, If you want to try a pre-workout product that will give you genuine increases in athletic performance in the gym and not simply give you a mad rush, give this a go: http://www.fitnesscentral.com.au/brand/cyborg_sport/cyborg_sport_bionic_600g_50_serves.htm Been using this for the last month and I love it! Although it does have some stims in it, it doesn't have anywhere near the crazy amount seen in products like jack3d and mesomorph. The rest of the product is Aminos. Products like jack3d and mesomorph are garbage as they don't contain enough of the active ingredients for them to do anything. The rest of the product is made up of stimulants and fillers. If you want a strong buzz just drink a really strong coffee, it's cheaper, lol.
  14. re: egg yolks. The yolk is the most nutritious part of the egg. Eating healthy fats helps you stay lean and lose fat. Fat should make up around 20% (minimum) of your total calorie intake for the day in order to maintain optimal hormone profile. Essential Fatty Acids and Essential Amino Acids should be the basis of your diet. IFBB pro Dennis James used to eat 36 whole eggs a day in the off-season. He is shredded.
  15. Thanks heaps boys! Will give this a crack tomorrow. Cheers
  16. Hi Guys, Had my cooling system flushed recently and new coolant put in due to trans fluid contaminating my cooling system. I have a feeling that the shop put a standard thermostat back in when they done this as now my thermo fans won't turn off when the car runs as it's constantly trying to cool my car down and the temp sits a little higher now. The fans do eventually turn off if the car gets cool enough but they stay on 99% of the time, especially in traffic. Can anyone tell me the best way to remove the thermostat housing to check the thermostat without getting coolant everywhere? just don't want to make a big mess and stain my engine bay. Also want to minimize the amount of coolant that comes out. Cheers
  17. where was that cooler fitted mate? It's hard to tell from the pics. Just asking as my kit was fitted in front of my intercooler but higher up in the grille area. I didn't like it but the guy installing it said it doesn't fit anywhere else. I think he's full of sh!t though.
  18. Lol nah you can't really see it coz the bit of the cooler that it covers is behind the bumper where the number plate sits, the rest of the trans cooler sits up in the grille and my intercooler isn't that high, but I'm just pissed that I have a transmission cooler which is HOT sitting in front of my intercooler which is supposed to cool down air. I don't want to take out my fog lights so that option is out. Might pull the bumper off myself and see if there's enough room between the radiator and the cooler, or if there's a way to make some room.
  19. Not sure on brand mate as I didn't purchase it but it looks like a PWR unit. Size isn't too big, they are quite thin. It was installed in front of my plazmaman intercooler which I was pissed off about. I asked the trans guy why it wasn't installed between the cooler and radiator but he said there wasn't any room...I personally think it was done this way because it was easier. Anyway, I said I will run the box in for 1000km as it's just been built and then put it on my tuner's Dyno. If there is noticeable heat soak and a drop in performance then I want it moved. I just wanted to confirm that others have managed to install one between cooler and radiator or another suitable spot so that I could pass this info onto the guy who installed mine.
  20. My trans cooler kit does not use braided lines, just standard transmission hose (rubber). No issues with limp mode or anything. Anyone else that has fitted one of these, can you please let me know where you put it? I'm not quite happy where my trans guy installed mine and I'm trying to work out another spot for it that's more suitable.
  21. I also now run an external trans cooler after my box let go due to water contamination from this sh!thouse heat exchanger failing on me. I will now be writing a letter to ford head office with a copy of my repair bill to show them what their poorly designed Chinese part did to my gearbox and what it cost me to fix. Might not get anything out of them but the way I say it I got nothing to lose.
  22. you should be able to use both online, there is no reason why you can't. It's the same as having any other devices connected to your modem at the same time I.e. laptop, desktop, mobile phone etc... It sounds like there might be an ip address conflict (both ps3's are trying to use the same IP address). Try assigning static IP addresses to them, see if that works.
  23. looks good mate...any idea on price?
  24. If you got warranty mate you're all good, but if your car is out of warranty, then you have 3 options: 1. Change the coolant and heat exchanger frequently 2. look into an aftermarket cooling solution...my trans shop is looking into a kit for me so if there is one available that works with no dramas I'll be sure to let people know 3. sell the thing and buy a manual XR If I can't get an aftermarket cooling setup on my car I'll be selling up and getting a manual once it's back on the road. I'll be losing a lot of money by doing so, but if there is no option to ditch this heat exchanger then I don't want to own the car as I can't afford to have this problem again.
  25. I still play it and love it. This game has been getting so much support in the form of updates and downloadable content, it's awesome! Keeps me coming back to it. Don't think any other ps3 game has had this much ongoing support. For those who are not aware, you can now download a test track where you can test your car for certain things such as quarter mile time, 0-100, top speed etc... Pretty cool. As for your question mate, I have not completed the amg challenge so I can't help ya lol those challenges are so frustrating!
