  3. Happy Birthday Chris and Liza!

  4. I think it may have more to do with what gear the car was in when it was tested. To get the most accurate results the car should be in a 1:1 gear (4th in ours?) and then the total torque divided by the diff ratio to get an idea of what is happening at the flywheel. It's all got to do with gear ratios - every time the torque goes through a set of gears (torque converter included for autos) the torque gets multiplied by that ratio (ie - flywheel x torque converter ratio x gear ratio x diff ratio / wheel circumference). that's where say 300Nm at the engine can become over 1000Nm at the wheels. Put smaller wheels on if you want more torque lol
  5. hey guys I'm running rda dimpled and slotted rotors and ebc red stuff pads all round. I dont drive like an idiot but do enjoy giving it a bit when I find some twisty roads. I have found the rda rotors to be fine, no warping whatsoever. they are a bit noisy and you can hear the air rushing through the slots when you aren't braking. the red stuff pads are pretty good once you've warmed them up. previous to this my car had the standard slotted rotors and bendix ultimates, both well worn out thanks to the nsw police force. new combo outperformes the old by miles, once warmed up. my theory is, cheap brakes will be fine, as long as you dont ask too much from them. cheers, chris
  6. Wow I can't get over the fact that this thread is ten years old! Anyway, I'm a train driver. 31 yo. Currently driving 07 BFII XR6T, no longer stock as a rock! :D Cheers, Chris
  7. check out Manta Pro | Performance Exhausts Perth » BA-BF XR6 TURBO 4.0L sdn 3″ dual exhaust. 4″ dump off TURBO into 3″ dual cheers, chris
  8. G'day guys I'll be in for some 60lb injectors for my BFII. Also, check out turbotrana's lithium battery - $300 and about 1/4 the size and weight of a normal lead acid battery. Cheers, Chris
  9. G'day Bionic I have a Uniden UH015SX which is a remote face 40 channel UHF with built in scanner. The face would be about 100mm x 20mm x 15mm. I used it on my motorbike with the main unit mounted under the seat and the face up on the handlebars. With the matching 6db antenna it worked a treat and gave a good range up to about 5kms depending on the landscape. Check out www.ryda.com I couldn't find it cheaper anywhere else. Cheers, Chris
  10. G'day Turbotrana Very interested! I actually watched your youtube uploads and was quite impressed. As our turbo engines have relatively low compression I wouldn't expect the current draw to be too high. Be sure to let us know when you have the group buy ready! Cheers, Chris
  11. g'day rusty when you say the centre console is designed to allow liquids to drain out - where does it drain to? is there a hole in the body somewhere or does it just dribble all over the carpet? cheers chris
  12. g'day guys I have a bog stock bfII t :( what sort of money are we looking at for these mods? I wanna join the club too :D cheers, chris
  13. g'day clark it depends on how hot your cam is and what other bolt on stuff you are running. the standard computer wont handle a really lumpy cam (due to our cars running a map sensor and not a true air flow meter). basically, anything you do to increase airflow over a standard motor (ie - good cai, exhaust, cams etc) will require a tune. cheers, chris
  14. mine (stock auto) just goes "chuff" with the bov vented to atmosphere. is this the *beep* sound? coz if it is I'll have to change it...
  15. s hoping it doesn't rain tomorrow - gotta put my front end back together!

  16. here's a possibility - when I was dismantling my front end (for some nice new nolathane bushes to go in) - I noticed that the brake line coming through the bodywork on the passengers side had chopped through its grommet. I'll fix this and see if it fixes the problem once I get the front end back together.
  17. hmm fair enough - I just thought it was a bit unusual that a near new car would make such a noise...
  18. G'day everyone Since I have owned my T it experiences a knocking sound after startup. Series of events: Startup, drive to almost exactly 10km/h (every time), then it goes knocka-knocka-knocka-knocka-knocka and then no more noise until next startup. Braking performance is normal. I was told that it was the abs unit - because the discs and pads were worn out - but after I fitted new discs and pads the noise came back. I got one start and take off without any noise - woohoo! Any ideas guys? Cheers, Chris
  19. Hey Guys I use Penrite 10W70 full synthetic in the engine and never had a problem with it. Read a test once saying Royal Purple was the best but $$$ and Penrite Sin came 2nd. Will be looking for a full synthetic for the diff soon... Cheers, Chris
  20. Have been doing more research - air cans are crap. Really only used as an alternative to hydraulics. Looks like a sleeve type air bag would be the go for our cars on the front, with normal double convolute bags on the rear. Now all I have to do is find an EDFC type shock with a sleeve type air spring...
  21. Gee I wish I'd read this earlier - I just finished typing up and posting a new topic called Wheel Alignment Specifications - and all of Greg's info is in there...
  22. G'day people Thought this might be useful, Mods - feel free to sticky this. You might be interested in having the site updated to support uploading the latest .docx word files. I don't know whether the BFs and FGs have updated wheel alignment figures. Feel free to add to this post! Cheers, Chris 2003 BA Falcon Wheel Alignment Specifications.doc
  23. Doing rear rotors and pads this weekend, along with braided lines all round. Also rebuilding the front calipers (shredded rubbers - thanks NSW Police!) - Should pull up pretty well after all that! With all the rumours of warping going around, I'm being really careful not to be too hard on them for at least 1000km...
