Hi. Not anything in the manual about turning off PATS but you could try contacting HERROD MOTOR SPORT. If you can tell the ecu that its in a ute without ABS you can feed an electronic speedo singal into the ecu. Cheers MD

Hi. Just had a look in the BA manual and there are no specs listed for the ign coils for 6 or 8 cyl engines but giving trouble codes for each coil when scanned via the diag port. Just another thing where ford have made it easy for their techs and harder for us mortals. Cheers MD

Hi. get in touch with FTG auto salvage as they did a conversion to an earlier falcon and used the ba ecu, also herrods can rewrite the ecu to take out the security features the only thing is you need to buy a flash tuner. May need to fit speedo sender to back of gearbox as xr6t may have used abs sensors for speedo. Cheers MD

Hi. If it has a chip in it to set the revs forget about it but if its one of the new ones that can be set for one cylinder operation just connect the green wire to one of the coil negative wires. Cheers MD

Hi. If you can sit in the car for a minute or two after giving the car a hard time the answer is no, If you have better things to do with your life the answer is yes. Someone in S.A. worked out what wire to cut so that you can remote lock the car when the engine is running and put a post on ford forums with description of the wires position. Cheers MD

Hi. To make the gauges dim (not quite as much as factory) connect the earth for the lights to the blue/red at the opposite end of the plug to the brown wire. The brown wire is park lights and the blue/red is the variable earth which changes the brightness. Cheers MD

Hi. Pull the cluster out (5 screws and two plugs) and in the big plug about the middle you will find a red/green wire you can use for 12 volts ignition, on the other side almost opposite is a black wire you can use for an earth, for lights use a brown wire at one end of the plug and if you need a separate earth for the lights (only if using leds) a blue/red wire at the other end of the plug. Hi Why chase wires all over the place and connect into wires with no fuses or very high amp fusible links when for 5 minutes work almost every wire you need is available by pulling out the gauge cluster. Drop and extend steering column and then pull the top edge of the rubber seal between column and cluster and take out 2 screws from there and 3 from the top edge, pull cluster towards you and reach behind to unclip the 2 plugs and in the big plug look for a red/green wire which is ignition a black wire almost opposite it for earth a brown wire at one end for park lights and a yellow wire for constant power and it only takes moments to run wires across from the top of the icc when the cluster is out. Hi Just had a look at the brochure scans on ford forums and only drivers and passengers front airbags are standard so as side airbags are optional or dependent on trim level/specific model a side airbag is not needed for roadworthy but you have to stop the light from coming on. Cheers MD

Hi ask a ford dealer if the testing plug is the same as the ba range and if it is grab one from the passengers side of a non passenger air bag ute. Cheers MD

Hi. H3 and H3c kits will be the same, the biggest problem is holding the lamp into the reflector as the clip that goes over the back of the normal H3 globe wont fit over a HID globe, What you need to do is drill two small holes in the lip around the edge of the globe holder on the reflector and hold the new globe in with 2 self tappers. Hi door switch wires are white (drivers) black/orange (rhr) black/red (lhr) white/red (passenger) white (boot) use a diode on all to stop any feed back and cross feed between doors or if your alarm supports positive triggering use the positive drive wire to the central locking, the other idea is use a canbus upgrade from "DEI". Hi Both the narva and phillips plus 50's and the phillips plus 80's are standard wattage globes (H4 60/55w and H7 35w) and are uv cut so no problems. Cheers MD

Hi the fog lights on the ba were based on a production hella fog light and there was a matching driving light when these lights were new so the lense and reflector assy may still be available as a spare part from an auto electrician who has an old hella catalog to look up the part number but as Ben said the lights are too close to the ground to be any good as driving lights. Just replace the headlight globes with plus 50's from narva or philips or go overboard and go plus 80's from philips. Cheers MD

Hi just had a quick look in the manual and it looks like you have a choice of 2 red wires or 2 white wires or a blue or a green wire all in that harness going to the engine if you have the later type shift light. Cheers MD
