  1. My brother has a stock VZ SS L98 6.0ute and it always has about half a car length infront of me everytime and this was when my car was just a stock BF XR6t both cars had 60,000kms on them his being a 6 speed manual and mine being a 6 speed auto it makes it a bit hard to judge. But anyway, Expensive Daewoo VZ SS ute = lighter and 270kw my BF xr6t = heavier 245kw but the torque is about the same on the both of em. Expensive Daewoo just make a slightly faster car end of story
  2. Its very unfortunate to hear about your mates drama. I reckon it sounds like either your mate is telling pork pies or the previous owner flashed the ECU assuming it was a second hand car. Ford has had several ECU revisions from BA - BF although no factory 10psi tunes Say in the case that your mate is the first owner of the vehicle and honestly never flashed the car id be looking at getting a second opinion from another dealership and get them to show you the evidence of it being flashed, and how it differs from just a standard factory update. Cheers Ant
  3. that's a pretty good deal, I got an 06/06 (stronger bits in it) BF auto with 50k on the clock for 25k but I was more wrapped in claiming the gst back from a seller with an ABN.
  4. I almost pissed myself when I read that.
  5. Vinegar or metho works great to get stubborn marks and stains of most things. Give it a try especially vinegar im sure u got some somewhere.
  6. I had an R33 Gtst type M a few cars ago, it had only a few mods HKS exhaust, mines ecu, boost controller, strut brace, coil overs and some big arse tyres and managed a 13.3 on the quarter  , hardly as much bang for your buck compared to the xr6t.

  11. Error.
  12. Id be having a look at the diff bush and check that its not damaged.
  13. It would be half worth it if it was an L98 engine. Without having any specific brand allegiance id stick with the L98 over the BOSS engine the old dinosaur can make really big numbers pretty easy. Its a bit of a waste of money, except for the 'stick it to ya' factor.
  14. Nice car, wouldnt go as far to say its the best out there. Id choose different options if I had 80k to spend on a car. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I had an R33 gtst type m at one stage, bloody quick cars! I reckon the barra 240 would give the rb26 a run for its money any day.

Ive done the same thing as well but came over from the other side previously owning a Statesman. I really miss the instant torque, you just have to tap the throttle ever so slightly and the car lurches forwards. All good fun Im happy with the xr6t, best decision to go with the 4.0l turbo.

  22. I just got mine done a week or so ago, and this is what they did: Check out ecu Check intake and exhaust bolts for tightness check all fluid levels inspect drive belt check wiring for security check battery check engine compartment hoses for leaks and sh*t check exhaust system for security and leaks check under car for leaks check suspension and steering components check prop shaft check brake system check outer body for corrosion check hood and latch operation check wheel nuts check prake pedal hight and hand brake check lights, wiper and washers PARTS USED: washer solution sachet helix plus premium oil fuel system flush engine flush *check for clunking in rear as advised* centre diff bush & brake lines require replacement (under warranty) all that cost $252 plus I got my fuel injectors cleaned and power steering flushed that brought it up to $505 through sunshine ford. All that work on hte car really made it run better hope it helps,
  23. howdy, just had my car in at sunshine ford for a 60k service. They did all the normal crap that costs a poo load, and I ended up getting the power steering flushed and fuel system/ injectors cleaned aswell. (runs alot better now) but anyway, I got the car back and took it for a drive and noticed that now the car shifts higher in the rev range under full throttle. The car consistantly revs to 5900 through changes, I though it was a bit high? what do you guys think? was there a new PCM update? or is it a problem? Cheers
