  1. I'm not 100% sure as I have never held or seen a Flash turner, But I'd assume that they would use the standard OBDII Mode 6 data. This is standard for any vehicle that meets OBDII requirements And as the Flash Tuner has a OBDII plug on the end of it, all the vehicles it plug into must comply to this requirement. So what this means is: Any vehicle with OBDII will be able to display engine based live data no matter what it is called. So it shouldn't matter if you call your car a Mustang, a Falcon, or a Unicorn (If Unicorn's meet OBDII requirements), You should be able to display this sort of data - Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, Water Temp, Engine RPM, Rich/Lean Indicators and many, many more.
  2. Could be a couple of things that you can check yourself. First thing would be to re look at the spark plugs. You've installed new ones, but what about the gaps? Spark blow out is a common problem on turbo vehicles. I don't know what the factory spec is but 0.9 is common. Next is the Coils. Yip again they replaced one, and say they checked the others, But how where they checked? If they weren't done under load this could be the problem. Coils in Turbo Falcons are a known issue. Failing that it's time for a compression check, and maybe get the injectors tested, and get the engine scanned with a good Scantool/operator. Other things to check are air/vacuum leaks. Spraying a bit of Engine start around the intake pipes etc might show up leaks as an increase in idle speed. Hope this helps

  5. Not a bad idea but will they have any less lateral run out than the ones you are replacing???
  6. Kicker amps can accept up to 15v line in voltage, so if your handy with a soildering iron you can convert your speaker wires into RCA's and plug them in. Kicker make some great amps, and if you went 4 channel you could bridge 2 channels for a sub(s) and use the other 2 for the parcel tray speakers.
  7. Your right -SteveR- replacing your discs with the DBA4000's would not have fixed the issue if there is still run out with in the hubs. Ever since modern vehicles shifted from have a single hub/disc combo with tapered bearings (which could basicly self adjust with their inhearent free play) to the big single roller bearings (with almost no self adjustment) brake shudder is a problem which is increasing problem. Couple that with cost cutting/using cheaper materials for the hubs and it's amazing that the problem doesn't effect more people (It's only due to modern technoligy and excellent CNC machining that the problem it more wide spread). Not machining the discs, or machining them off car is a bit like putting new tyres on your mags but not balancing them.   8. Haya all, I haven't read the entire post but I thought I better add my 2 cents. The problem most of people experiencing brake shudder isn't the sole result of the discs alone. Nor will just any machining fix the problem. The actual problem lies with lateral run-out (Disc Wobble). If a disc is taken off a car and machined off the car with either a bench lathe or similar you should get the two sides parallel to each other but what happens when the disc is put back on the car? Does this actually fix the lateral run-out? What happens if the problem doesn't lie in the disc? What if it's in the hub? All you've done is spent money and not fixed the problem. Even worse, What if you spend lots of money on replacement discs, but not fixed the problem still, you get annoyed for starters. On most modern cars the min. spec. For lateral run-out is .002" (Nissan is even less) and anything more than this could be felt at the brake pedal as shudder. .002" is not much thicker than a human hair!!! (Human hair is about .0071") and more than that and as the disc is turning it passes through the caliper and bumping one pad, and then the other. As this happens the disc and pads slowly get worn until you get Disc Thickness Variation. This means that the rotor will be two different thicknesses at different points (I.e. 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock). So how do you fix it? Use an on car Brake Lathe! The market leader is one called a Pro-cut. They’re made in the US and they are the OEM approved tool for the likes of Ford, GM, Nissan, Daimlar/Chryslar, Subaru and more. Pro-cut have the added advantage of being self adjusting on the newer models so the operator doesn't have to adjust for LRO (lateral run-out), and it guarantees the end result is less than the required .002" So if you do have brake shudder, Find a workshop that does have a Procut On car Brake Lathe, Make sure they use it on car, and get your car done by them! Problem solved Out of interest EBC Brakes (Googling them, their big) recommend that their rotors must be machined on car when they are installed new on to a vehicle and will not warrant them without this done. There are some great videos on Youtube that explain this better than I do, so have a look yourself.
  9. Yes most decent Scantools have "live data" viewing/recording functions. The two that I use most is the Hanatec or the G-Scan. The G-Scan has the advantage over the Hanatec in that it can record this infomataion for play back.

  12. Haya all, if anyone can PM me the pin outs of the ECU for both these vehicles please. I have a mate that is going to install a BA XR6-T engine and ECU into his BF XF Wagon, adn he needs to know which wires are common and which ones he needs to change/modify. Thanks all
  13. NO!!!!! Stay the hell away from IPV!!! Their tuning is a joke. Will have print outs shortly that will prove this. The ONLY place that really knows there way around a XR6-T in NZ is Robin @ Torque Performance. Welcome to Torque Performance - Where "We Talk Results" Might be a longer drive to Auckland, but totally worth it. I have seen the results of three of his tunes now and WOW they drive so well, He also re-did a mates F6 R-Spec that IPV tuned at 310rwwk that felt slower off the mark than a na XR6 to 327rwkw and as smooth as a factory tune. Once the ute is up and running only one person will be allowed near the tuning side of things!
