Tyre Sizes
I have just fitted 20 inch wheels to my T ute. There was only one type of tyre that could be used on the front as the suspension has a bolt hanging out that will hit if anything bigger than this tyre is used (Sorry about the bad explanation, hopefully the pictures will show you what I mean). From memory it is a 225x30x20. There is a 3-4mm clearance using this tyre between it and the bolt. I will take some pictures and try to get a shot of how close the bolt is to the tyre. There was no need to roll the guards for these wheels which was good.

Steering vibration
Guys, If it is shuddering when reversing slowing turning to full lock then it will most likely be your steering rack. The bolts come loose. This is a known issue and there are a fair few posts on this in the forum so do a search. I had this and took it ot Ford service dept and they fixed it. I think they grease up the bushes to so it shouldn't happen again. Hope this helps, Greg

ITS HERE !
Hey Zapt, Awesome ride! Love the leather. Mate, this might be a stupid question but did you check the tyre measurements as I have seen those wheels on base models and they were 16's. Hope they didn't try to rip you off by putting them on. But I don't think the premium brakes would fix 16's, Just they do look smal in the pics. Anyhow, who cares, you've got the right ones on know. HOpe you have a ball mate.

I am Stoked, I own one quick XR6T!
HUH?? How the !hell! does that work?? If you put the gear stick to the left you gotta change change it manually yeh(isnt that the whole point?)?? otherwise it'll just bounce off the limiter every time! No it just up & down shifts normally just at higher revs. No need to touch it Scotty CCC Obviously my gearbox is knackered!! Mines just bounces until I change it!! Hustler, You push it over to the left for Performance Mode and then DO NOT touch it and it will change through (up & down) 1st, 2nd & 3rd gear automatically. But as soon as you change the gears manually (Even just once) It is now in full manual mode. Hope that makes sense

BluePrint No More
Is it also true that Phantom has gone aswell??? Hope so for my sake as I haven't seen many Phantom Turbo utes, seen a few NA's. Should make it a little easier to sell hopefully. But that's a long way off, loving it too much

Fairmont Clock Boost Gauge
I have had mine for awhile now, and it rattles when on full boost. It is the needle rattling. Can't hear it with the radio on, but if the radio is switched off it is a pretty annoying sound. Not sure if I can be bothered getting it fixed though.

XR6 Turbo Insurance: Premiums, Insurers & Advice
$3300 a year that's unbelievable, there is no why I could afford insurance that dear, give CGU a try if your under 25, I've found them to be very reasonable the last couple years even when I was under 25 Just called CGU and they won't insure ANYONE under 25 with a Turbo car I was told. Oh well, looks like im staying with NRMA.

XR6 Turbo Insurance: Premiums, Insurers & Advice
Mine is a stock T ute....The only companies that would insure me (As I was 22 when I bought it) were Just Car and NRMA (of all people) I went with NRMA as my insurance was a tad over $2500 a year which I could pay monthly. But Just Car insurance was a once off payment for a couple of hundred less (They also allow 12 modifications without question) But as I has just brought the car I didn't have $2300 just lying around so I went with NRMA pay by the month. I turned 23 in Feb and did a search on the NRMA site for an online quote. Found out that now I was 23 my insurance premium dropped to $2000. So I got straight on the phone and changed my policy. But I also this time opted for the NCB protection which was an additional $300 a year, but well worth it for me as if I crash the car and make a claim my insurance would be around $7000 (They prob wouldn't insure me). So im happy at the moment but will be more happy when im over 25 and don't have to pay these rediculous amounts of money!!!!

Have you scraped your front spoiler?
How did it turn out Blown BA??? Is it noticable?

Have you scraped your front spoiler?
aniken, that wouldn't be that hairpin on Macquarie Pass by any chance??? If so I think there are plenty of others out there who have scraped the hell outta there bumpers by the looks of the gouges out the road. Haven't taken mine up there but will have to remember if I ever do.

Have you scraped your front spoiler?
I was planning on getting my fixed straight away, but didn't get around to it for a couple of weeks and was thinking I will only just do the same thing again. But that driveway was a once off that I will never see again and haven't caused any more damage since then. So im reconsidering getting it fixed.

Have you scraped your front spoiler?
I have some damage to my front spoiler due to steep decent in driveway and is noticable when looking at the car front on. Just curious if any other people have hurt their T's by doing something similar???

Mean & Greeen For The Greeen & Mean
Sorry to hear about your drama's Worpor....Hope all is well when you get her back this afternoon. Im still amazed a the picture you have of the ute with the tray off that you still have a decent amount of tread on those tyres....Thought they would have been bald as  Hope my ute doesn't manage to find a stray BMW All the best mate

Guys, click on the link below and you will find hundreds of repairers, Just look for your area. Most tyre/wheel centres will repair or know a repairer close by. Can't go wrong with them, the weld in the scrapes then re-dip the mag in the apporiate colour, they come out look as good as new. http://www.yellowpages.com.au/search/perfo...bsiteOnly=false

APS Phase 1 Just Fitted
It takes a hell of a lot to get my T ute to spin the wheels in the dry. But you'd wanna have you foot held firmly on the brake for it not to "creep" forward with 2800rpm pushing for a certain amount of time "Without wheel spin". Don't mind me though, just dribbling sh!t on the keyboard and this is what came out on the screen????

different sound from turbo
From what I can tell it is the BOV, I installed a K&N air filter on my T and you notice it twice as much. I love the sound when you give it a bootfull in manual mode of the SSS and let your foot of the gas.

new 18" tyres
Tempe Tyres in Sydney do Nankang 18's for $190 each. But I don't think they were 45's, They were on a mate's Subaru, I think they're 35's. But wouldn't expect there to be much of a jump in price to the 45's???
