Fuel Tank Too Small?
Mine's now done 14,000 klms. It is becoming more economical. I went 150 klms last noght on the highway through 60, 80 and 100 zones and kept to the speed limit. Averaged 9.8 L/100 klms. This is great I think, the V6 VY Auto I have at work would do 1 litre less over the same trip per 100 klms, and look at the performance difference if you want to use it.

Which Oil Do You Use?
That is an old one, your chasing me from forum to form. Besides, now you can make a goose of your self as a race steward, you don't need my money. Plus, I have finally converted you to the blue oval.

Which Oil Do You Use?
Colin as I know you - you are probably in a position to give us advice on this topic. There was a "oil change" thread a while ago that went into the synthetic vs mineral argument. My car is going by the dealers book, so it has had synthetic and changes every 5000. Although that interval isn't in the book. They use Castrol Magnatec.

Just Hit Hard
jc20b I also am (just old enough) to be your father. I have a 18 year old son. I have also made more than one mistake out there when I should have been on the track. Don't worry, in the grand scheme of things this is but a sideroad.

Police Cars & Undercover Cars Spotted Thread
Umm, Cop Story Time... Well there was a guy who got a new Ducati who rode it to the big smoke and back after the 1st service at - well - a bit over the legal limit. When this said guy, got to the bits of the road he usually travels on (2 hours from home) he increased his speed to something (this fella has told me) was in the oreder of 135/140 klms/hr. This good looking Ducati riding idiot notices a white car going down a dirt road leading to the highway, and thinks nothing of it - at that speed it's easy to do. So, into the double lanes, sitting on 125, then the white car in the very distant distance is growing F'ing large F'ing quick. Damn it gentle reader, some people should have stayed on a BMW where they belonged. Lights go on, the person in question pulls over. Very quickly, then kills the engine and takes off the helmet. The rider got asked how fast he was going so he said 120. Then the licence check in the car (it was/is clean). The Officer says top behave and slow down, then disappears into the Highway Patrol Car and takes off. This struck me as strange cause a mate was in the HWP and said that maintaining control was the key. Let them (us) go first and watch. Not being a complete idiot, this rider then thanked the Gods, and drifted in to the next town doing 100, being passed by little Korean things and such like. Sure enough, just before the 80 zone into town there is my friend (and I considered him such) in the bushes facing my way. Radar visible (just) between the greenery. I (I mean this guy I know) stiffled the urge to wave - no one likes a smart arse! Fast forward to yesterday, I am a contestant in a local thing where by some invited guests hav a go at a celebrity go kart race at the local track. One other invited guest is a member of the HWP. This guy (who I hasten to add is 20 kilos lighter than me) passed me down the straight. So when we stopped I said - see at 3pm on Saturday arvo mate. "I thought the race was at 1pm?" "The time got changed when you passed me down the straight" Eventually I said, "no, just kidding ya" He asked the organiser three times if the race was at 3pm.

What Should I Do?
The Turbo for 55 is basically the car I have - they are nice options.

What Should I Do?
If money was no object I would go the GT-P (as it was I went the Turbo, and don't regret it). But if you want your wife to drive round in a modified car, prepare to spend more money on the V8. The Turbo is easier on the wallet - both to purchase and to modify. But satisfying your wife is a smart husbandly thing to do, ain't it!

Vic Police.
Yes I do, And I agree with you. I have the pleasure of travelling the Pacific Highway every day. Plus extended trips for work. I never speed in 50, 60 or 80 zones. I also obey the other road rules. I don't speed to any extent on the 100 zones between towns either (much) but I will when going west of the divide. Occassionally you come up against the rat bag element, who really just don't give a flying frig for anyone's safety. Months ago I had a guy tail gate me when I was on the Ducati, this was because I was going to overtake him, until he took it as some sort of personal offence and then speed up waving his arms around and shaking his fist at me. He then overtook me and slowed without using his brakes (no rear lights went on ? handbrake) until he was doing 40 on the highway. Still going off his nut. My gut feeling was pull over this is not the time to play at being the tough bikie. A few weeks later I see the same guy same car. Leaving the Methadone Clinic. Some people have got nothing to loose.
